  • SWEEPing Generalibations (Sep 30th, 2025) - Greetings, Bowling Generals, it is I, Pete Hegseth, your Secretary of WAR. Lean in, because Week Seven of Fall 2025… oh man, it was something else. Two teams climbing, two slipping — like strong men scaling mountains of bourbon bottles while others lose their grip and tumble. You could feel it in the air, heavy, like after a long patrol. JoAnne Barber — tough, resilient — fired off a 143 high game and a 393 series for the women. Big respect. But still, a woman. The real proving ground, it’s the men. Nick Kinney — dropped a 226, like a howitzer firing in rhythm. And Matthew Taylor — 605 series. Six-oh-five, gentlemen. That’s not bowling, that’s endurance, sinew, veins pumping, the essence of peak male performance. You gotta read this whole thing, because from here out, we’re not playing by the old rules. The league — this league — it’s war now. And yes, we’ll be making war on our own teams to train, to harden, to forge iron from iron.

  • No! Not No! Not Theo! In First! (Sep 9th, 2025) - The fourth week of Fall 2025 struck like lightning across the alleys, reshaping the destiny of the standings in one fell swoop. One team clawed their way up the ladder, another slipped into despair, and one bowler etched their personal best into league lore. Sparks flew when Cat Atwood unleashed a blistering 153 to seize the women’s high game, while JoAnne Barber coolly stacked a 365 to claim women’s high series. On the men’s side, Nick Kinney erupted with a thunderous 246 high game, but the night belonged to Matthew Taylor, whose unstoppable 625 secured the men’s high series. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions roared to life, the beginning of 13 weeks of head-to-head battles where heroes will be made and pretenders unmasked. The pins never knew what hit them — and this is only the beginning.

  • Team 2 Is Great Again! (Sep 2nd, 2025) - Because the team named for my beautiful TARIFFS has jumped into first place -- the highest place, a level never before seen, I, your Favorite President Donald J. Trump, am writing this week's recap. The third week of Fall 2025 was absolutely tremendous, folks — really historic. We saw winners rise, losers tumble, and believe me, everybody was talking about it. Two teams climbed the standings — beautiful climbing, the best kind — while two very sad, very weak teams slipped down. Cat Atwood, who is just terrific, totally dominated with this week’s high game (150) and series (391) for the women, while Aaron Barber — a tremendous bowler, by the way — delivered the men’s high game (211) and series (615). And now the Tournament of Champions divisions are set, ready for some incredible, one-on-one action beginning next week. People are calling it the best lineup in history. Read on — it only gets better!

  • Squids' Games (Aug 26th, 2025) - The second week of Fall 2025 didn’t just shuffle the standings—it sent shockwaves through the league. Three hungry contenders clawed their way up, while three stumbled into the shadows. Amid the clatter of pins and the roar of the crowd, one bowler etched a new personal best into history. JoAnne Barber seized the women’s spotlight with a blazing high game of 133 and a commanding series of 388, while Ben Spencer thundered to the top among the men with a ferocious 231 high game and a mighty 568 series. The drama only escalates from here—read on for the full saga!

  • Spring 2025 Recap (Jun 6th, 2025) - Here is your Spring 2025 Recap, where you can find out who won all the individual awards plus lots more! Our next season will (likely) begin on August 19, 2025!

  • This Week Goes to Eleven. (Apr 15th, 2025) - The eleventh week of Spring 2025 thundered through the lanes like a poorly-timed ball slamming into the pinsetter, though the only change in the standings was a flip of 5th & 6th place. Wifi being down led to Jeremy Varnell ripping off his shirt to offer his back as a writing surface for keeping scores, but fortunately (despite the generous and much-appreciated offer) by the end of the first frame Scoot was finally able to find a spot to place his phone where it got good cell signal and could serve wifi to the scoreboards and all the tablets. JoAnne Barber dazzled with this week's high game (127) and series (363) for the women, while Nick Kinney lit up the alley with a monstrous 215 game and a 599 series to claim top honors for the men. But the real stories unfolded in the heat of the matchups—let’s roll into the details!

  • Finale, Finally! (Dec 10th, 2024) - The Fall 2024 season reaches its thrilling conclusion, with Squid Row finally, and we do mean finally, clinching this season's championship title! It's a triumph for the team that should have locked this up two weeks ago, making the extended wait a bit exasperating and a little embarrassing for the squid squad. Next week, we'll gather at our usual time to name award winners, distribute prize money, and enjoy a 9-pin-tap fun night. But first, let's dive into the events of this stagnated finale, which, despite no shifts in the standings, delivered plenty of drama due to the fact that every game was close and every single game across all three matchups was decided by the last 1-2 rollers in the 10th frame! Furthermore, once the last pair of lanes darkened, came the realization that 5 of the 6 teams ended the season with winning records. Along the way, JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (128) and series (376) for the woman, while Matthew Taylor claimed the men’s high game (248) and series (688). Read on for all the juicy details!

  • Yoink! (Dec 3rd, 2024) - After last week's tentacular setback, most people and cephalopods assumed this would be the week Squid Row would finally clinch the championship. But a surprising twist partially instigated by Bowls Deep kept the championship just out of reach once again. JoAnne Barber lit up the lanes with a fierce 154 game and a 401 series for the woman, while Nick Kinney’s 232 game and 608 series crowned him king of the men’s leaderboard. The Tournament of Champions is now down to its final eight bowlers, who will clash next week for glory and cash prizes. But first, let’s dive into this week’s battles!

  • Debatably Good Bowling (Sep 10th, 2024) - The third week of Fall 2024 rolled in with anticipation, as one team soared to new heights and another tumbled down the standings. JoAnne Barber made waves with this week’s high game (126) and series (347) for the woman, while Matthew Taylor took center stage for the men with a high game (238) and series (614). Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions divisions are locked and loaded, ready to bring head-to-head showdowns next week! Let’s dive into the play-by-play drama of this week's matchups.

  • Fall 2024 Bowling Preview! (Aug 13th, 2024) - Welcome to the Fall 2024 bowling season! We start bowling 2 weeks from tonight, on August 27, same location and same time as usual. There is still time to submit roster changes, but for the time being all six teams seem to be the same as last time with two exceptions: Ray Scott is sitting this season out, and Nick Kinney is replacing Michael Gordon. Please get team names and any other roster changes to us by this weekend, and if anyone else wants to bowl who did not bowl last season, let Scoot or AJ know ASAP so we can find you a spot! (Reminder: Scoot is out of town most of next week so please try to finalize things by this weekend.)

  • Glory Bowl Rises & Shines (Mar 5th, 2024) - The seventh week of Spring 2024 saw Glory Bowl climb substantially in the standings, while two other teams slipped. Wonder Twin powers were activated as JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (123) and series (354) for the woman while Michael Gordon earned this week's high game (237) and series (654) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Lead Switch Halfway In (Oct 17th, 2023) - Welcome to the midway point of the thrilling Fall 2023 bowling season! Week 8 brought us some fierce competition, with teams rising and falling like pins on the lanes. And while the action was intense, it was the exceptional performances that stole the spotlight. But the biggest twist is likely the first-place lead change at the last moment of the season's first half! In a league where female bowlers outnumber Gideon Bibles remaining in room 426 of the Magnolia Hotel in Omaha, JoAnne Barber emerged as a shining star, effortlessly claiming this week's high game with a remarkable 137, and a series of 384 for the women. Meanwhile, the men had their own standout performer, as Matthew Taylor blazed a trail with a spectacular high game of 257 and an impressive series total of 639.

  • Bowling Starts August 29! (Aug 28th, 2023) -
