Aubrey has unlocked the following Spring 2024 achievements...

A listing (from most current to furthest back) of any write-up posts in which Aubrey has been mentioned:
  • Spring 2019 Recap (May 15th, 2019) -

  • All Hail the ToC Champs! (May 7th, 2019) - The Spring 2019 season draws to a close, with CICK Ass officially earning this season's championship title! But we aren't quite finished yet -- next week we will meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. The final week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (186) and series (513) for the women, while Matthew Taylor earned this week's high game (237) and series (628) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • The Rainbow Connection (Apr 30th, 2019) - Last week Championship dreams were washed away for everyone exceptCICK Ass, and last night 40 bowlers experienced the drowning of whatever hope they had left of winning the Tournament of Champions. But for 8 of you there could be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, as next week the top two members of each division will compete for the largest Tournament of Champions prize in league history!

  • Clinched! (Apr 23rd, 2019) - Originally I was going to leave this week's as a robo-writeup due to me having another busy week, but then CICK Ass screwed that up for me by accomplishing something I had failed to notice they could do this week: they clinched the championship two weeks early! This makes the first championship for Chantal Jacot, 6 for Ian Goetz, a staggering 13 for Carl "Tits" Goetz, and an even more staggering 14 for Ken M. Wilson (sheesh!). Congratulations to all four of you!

  • It was the best of frames, it was the worst of frames... (Apr 9th, 2019) - When we have 8 teams the Position Round slices our season cleanly in half. But when we have 12 teams the Position Round is more like the mighty guillotine, slicing off just the end while the main body remains on the slab of history. Three normal-ish weeks remain before the Championship round, but even lest time that that remains for anyone to act before the current #1 team clinches the championship outright.

  • Speedy Recap (Mar 26th, 2019) - With about a quarter of the league at the Weezers/Pixies concert (admit it, Phil & Freda, we all know you were there too), the rest of us got to enjoy a speedy evening that finished relatively early. Unfortunately that didn't translate into extra write-up time for Scoot, and since he's very busy today we are going to leave about 90% of this as the computer-generated writeup. The tenth week of Spring 2019 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (176) and series (491) for the women. As for the men, Aaron Barber snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Ian Goetz with a 643. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Big Ball Chantal (Mar 12th, 2019) - Many times throughout our history bowlers have bought a new ball and seen immediate improvement in their game. But never before have we seen this happen as dramatically as it did last night with Chantal's new ball. Overall, two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Chantal Jacot picked up this week's high game (208) and series (471) for the women, while Dennis Walling earned this week's high game (245) and series (634) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Week 6 RoboRecap (Feb 26th, 2019) - The sixth week of Spring 2019 saw five teams climb in the standings, while five teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 179, and women's high series was bagged by Monica Hufford with a 447. As for the men, Matthew Taylor earned this week's high game (279) and series (747). Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Better Late Than Never! (Feb 19th, 2019) - This week a record three teams post-bowled due to illness and weather. But not, finally, all the scores are in. The fifth week of Spring 2019 saw four teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (188) and series (523) for the women, while Ian Goetz earned this week's high game (243) and series (593) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Teetering on the Brink of a 1st Place Swap (Feb 12th, 2019) - The fourth week of Spring 2019 saw four teams climb in the standings, while five teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 151, and women's high series was bagged by Monica Hufford with a 404. As for the men, Nick Kinney snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Ian Goetz with a 615. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • The Bowler Vortex (Jan 29th, 2019) - As the nation prepared to plunge into the harsh abyss of arctic doom, the second week of Spring 2019 saw five teams climb in the standings, while five teams slipped and one remained frozen in place. Two bowlers roll a new personal best game. Alison Radke landed this week's high game for the women with a 196, and women's high series was bagged by Monica Hufford with a 461. As for the men, Russell Bingham snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Seth Gunderson with a 620. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • These Go To Eleven (Jan 23rd, 2019) - The Spring 2019 kicked off on an icy night (in which we were the only league brave enough to show up) with a record-breaking eleven teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Three bowlers didn't get the memo that you aren't supposed to do this the first week and set a new personal best series, and four rolled new personal high games. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (176) and series (468) for the women. As for the men, Jeremy Cline snagged this week's high game with a 228, and high series was earned by Conor Clarke with a 591. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Fall 2018 Recap (Dec 13th, 2018) -

  • EIGHT-BALLED UPSET!!!!! (Dec 4th, 2018) - The Fall 2018 season draws to a close, with 8 Balls officially earning this season's championship title! But we aren't quite finished yet -- next week we will meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. The final week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (191) and series (451) for the women. As for the men, Michael Gordon and Russell Bingham both tied for this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Russell Bingham with a 605. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Could Next Week Include a Three-Way? (Nov 27th, 2018) - Well, this is it, we’ve nearly reached the end of the season and the championship round is next week. While much attention has been focused on the struggles this season of defending champions Serious Bowlers and the fact that they are now eliminated from trophy contention, there’s another part of this story that deserves even more attention. And that is the quiet but rapid rise of BDE. Oncedangling limp down in 7th place, BDE has firmed up into virile force that has penetrated into championship contention and could explode into a messy situation for all of us next week if a couple of other teams don’t use adequate protection. More on next week’s potential sticky situation in a moment, let’s first run through how everyone did last night…

  • Week 14 Semi Robo Recap (Nov 27th, 2018) - NOTE: Scoot was out of town when post-bowling scores came in and just got back late last night, so this will remain a robo-writeup except for a few special items highlighted below. The fourteenth week of Fall 2018 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Alison Radke picked up this week's high game (143) and series (401) for the women. As for the men, Aaron Barber snagged this week's high game with a 225, and high series was earned by Curtis Whiles with a 604. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Almost A Clean Sweep (Nov 13th, 2018) - This topsy-turvy season continues to get screwier and screwier, as four sweeps and a near sweep continued to stir up the standings. Once in 7th place, BDE this week pulled ahead of the two-time defending champions and found themselves tied for third place. Meanwhile rookie team Teeby Dee, who spent most of the season lingering near the bottom of the standings, suddenly finds a winning record within quick reach and is still mathematically a contender for the trophy. These two teams face each other next week, so this will be the game to watch as the outcome could be BDE moving cleanly into third place or TBD attaining a positive win record.

  • The Voter Rolls (Nov 6th, 2018) - Last night, based on exit polling plus early returns, Bowling News Network (BNN) called first place for Serious Bowlers. Boy, are we red-faced about that one. We haven't missed a call that badly since we projected Hiillary Clinton the Tournament of Champions winner in Fall 2016! The twelfth week of Fall 2018 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (172) and series (493) for the women. As for the men, Seth Gunderson snagged this week's high game with a 233, and high series was earned by Aubrey Moren with a 565. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Week 11 Final RoboHeadline (Oct 30th, 2018) - The eleventh week of Fall 2018 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (162) and series (427) for the women, while Michael Gordon earned this week's high game (242) and series (595) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Gettin' Our Groove On (Oct 2nd, 2018) - Week 7 was the grooviest anyone in our league or at the bowling counter had ever seen. In addition to being so freakin' groovy, this week saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (188) and series (496) for the women. As for the men, Nick Kinney snagged this week's high game with a 225, and high series was earned by Aaron Barber with a 607. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Off to a Malfunctiony Start (Aug 21st, 2018) - The Fall 2018 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (181) and series (474) for the women, while Michael Mead earned this week's high game (237) and series (605) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Spring 2018 Recap (Jul 11th, 2018) -

  • That's A Wrap (May 15th, 2018) - The Spring 2018 season draws to a close, with WITNESS!!! officially earning this season's championship title! But we aren't quite finished yet -- next week we will meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. The final week saw three teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (167) and series (475) for the women, while Dennis Walling earned this week's high game (235) and series (660) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Last-Minute Leapfrog (May 1st, 2018) - The fourteenth week of Spring 2018 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (190) and series (522) for the women. As for the men, Aaron Barber and Michael Mead both tied for this week's high game with a 276, and high series was earned by Michael Mead with a 688. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Trading Places (Apr 10th, 2018) - The eleventh week of Spring 2018 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (191) and series (556) for the women, while Aubrey Moren earned this week's high game (248) and series (672) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Witness Intimidation (Apr 3rd, 2018) - The tenth week of Spring 2018 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped, and one bowler set a new personal best series. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (169) and series (462) for the women. As for the men, Kody Karnes and Nick Kinney both tied for this week's high game with a 245, and high series was earned by Kody Karnes with a 678. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Humbowl Missing. Walling Injured. These Stories and more, tonight on Eye WITNESS!!! News (Mar 13th, 2018) - By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2018 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The seventh week saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (246) and series (579) for the women. As for the men, Matthew Taylor snagged this week's high game with a 254, and high series was earned by Kody Karnes with a 644. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • The 700 Club Grows (Mar 6th, 2018) - For most of us, last night was a bit of an off night. Only a few of us hit our averages consistently, and many of us were well below our norms. The problem might have been that Matthew Taylor sucked up everybody's mojo so he could roll his first (and this season's first) 700+ series! While he as doing that, one team climbed in the standings and another team slipped. Emily Nicolet picked up this week's high game (147) and series (369) for the women, while Matthew Taylor unsurprisingly earned this week's high game (254) and series (707) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Can I Get a Witness!!!? (Feb 27th, 2018) - A delayed fifth week of bowling saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One of the teams that climbed, defending champions WITNESS!!!, has reclaimed a razor-thin first-place standing. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (231) and series (540) for the women, while Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (234) and series (685) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • "We're poopin' pins!" (Jan 30th, 2018) - A night of super blue blood moons and randomly-dropping pins saw three teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. In addition, one bowler set a new personal best series. Read on for all the details!

  • 2018 Is Underway (Jan 23rd, 2018) - Spring 2018 began tonight with a welcome to a few new bowlers, a defending champion team that is going to have to fend off multiple challengers, and several bowlers who forgot they were supposed to sandbag. Consequently, two bowlers set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games.

  • Thirty-Seven?!? (Jan 18th, 2018) - Welcome to the Spring 2018 bowling season, our 37th season!

  • Fall 2017 Recap (Dec 13th, 2017) - 36 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while we didn't set much in the way of records, having 10 teams brought us some new twists and turns and the largest pool of prize money (just shy of $2200) we have seen in quite some time!

  • Another Season, Another Upset (Dec 5th, 2017) - For the second season in a row, a second place team made a shocking comeback at the last possible moment to steal the championship from the expected winner. And, the common element in both comebacks is Aaron Barber. Is he a good luck charm that teams will fight to recruit in the off-season?

  • Beware Of Doug (Nov 14th, 2017) - There was some pretty freaking amazing rolling tonight. JoAnne Gordon rolled a new personal best series (405) and new high game (157). Michael Smith rolled a new personal best series (464) and tied his personal high game of 192. Ben Spencer broke his previous best game with a 199. Dennis Blake and Aubrey Moren were both on fire. Nick Kinney went insane with a 268. But nobody came close to what sub / 5th-man Doug Bonney did tonight.

  • The Dirty Dozens (Nov 7th, 2017) - Twelve weeks of bowling are now in the books... the season is 3/4 over, and while one team has maintained a two-game lead for three weeks in a row, the top 5 spots in the standings remain too close for us to start predicting a winner just yet.

  • Post Bowl Time (Oct 3rd, 2017) - Post-bowling scores are in, let's see how everything turned out!

  • Cash Stash Lashes First With Panache (Sep 19th, 2017) - Being Lamewads, we here at Gutteralley can't claim to know what "Mustache Cash Stash" means or what the Google Image Search images that we found mean. But we do know enough to know that MCS = this week's first-place flavor-of-the-week.

  • Led By The Lefties (Sep 5th, 2017) - The two teams that feature right-handed bowlers who are bowling left-handed this season are leaving the rest of us in the dust. Have they uncovered a shocking new bowling secret???

  • P.B.R.R.I.P. (Aug 29th, 2017) - Tonight our league received the worst news it has heard since the time the bar ran out of Sam Adams: PBR is being replaced with Boulevard Wheat at the bar because no one was drinking PBR. Tell that to the members of JG's Rusty Nuts, who average 5-6 pitchers of it a week. Their Tuesday nights are ruined. To find out how devastating this news was, read on...

  • Spring 2017 Recap (May 19th, 2017) - 35 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while this season may not have set a lot of records, it still has a few firsts and a lot of fun moments. And the surprise come-from-behind championship win by Omaha Hambone marks the first title win in quite some time that didn't come from ne of the long-time dynasties.

  • Can the Dark Horse Still Win? (May 2nd, 2017) - Probably not. :) Tonight was the last night of regular-season bowling, and next week decides it all! As is stands now, Omaha Hambone would have to sweep and then win the roll-off in order to defeat the perennial champs. However, Hambone is currently 4-4 against the Uncles, only won one game when they last faced each other, and last enjoyed a sweep 4 weeks ago. Sure, they may pull off a huge upset, but it's looking quite unlikely. How did it come to this?

  • Tightening the Grip (Apr 25th, 2017) - Next week is the last week of regular season bowling, and after a season that at first seemed to be heading toward finally letting someone else win for a change, it appears the dark overlords are getting a tighter grasp on yet another victory. Just two weeks left for any of the remaining competition to make a play!

  • Mopping It Up (Apr 12th, 2017) - Tonight was a night of almost all sweeps, and saw a formerly near-last-place team barrel its way into the top half of the standings. Meanwhile the formerly first-place team became increasingly frustrated with their inability to regain the lead and it cost them their most precious commodity.

  • The RoboWriteup (Apr 5th, 2017) - Scoot had a lot he needed to do tonight and didn't have time to write a recap, so this week's update is the automated, computer-generated version. Sorry about that!

  • Getting Tighter (Mar 21st, 2017) - While the only position change in the standings tonight was a flip right in the very center of the lineup, the race for first place definitely became a lot more interesting as now only one game separates the top three teams. Who will have what it takes to come out ahead 7 weeks from now?

  • Halfway to the Pot o' Gold (Mar 14th, 2017) - Our season is now officially half over. Three teams are sliding along the downhill side of the rainbow towards the pot of gold, while everyone else is still back on the uphill slope, weighed down with too much corned beef and green beer

  • Gearing Up for the Position Round (Mar 7th, 2017) - The season is already nearly halfway over, and as we move into next week's position round the only shakeup in the standings is the surprise result of Frankee's Uncles no longer rolling on lanes 1-2 next week.

  • Bowl To The Future (Feb 22nd, 2017) - Okay, get ready for this, our league has just undergone time travel and split off into an alternate reality. Last night while working up the scoresheets, things just weren't adding up no matter what Scoot tried. After a great deal of frustrating recap sheet auditing, it finally came to our attention that a blind series we had recorded for Michael Gordon back in Week 3 had actually been pre-bowled and we never got the scores for it. So, moments ago, week 3's scores were re-entered, and all affected matchups since then have been re-calculated. The result is a history of the past 3 weeks considerably different from the one we have already experienced. In this new timeline, Ebowla experienced a week as the first-place team, and Frankee's Uncles are now enjoying their second week in first place.

  • Our Gutters ♥ Your Balls (Feb 14th, 2017) - While many bowlers were either absent or pre-bowled, most of the league knew what their true love is and spend Valentine's evening chucking balls down the lane.

  • So Shines a Good Deed in a Weary World (Jan 31st, 2017) - With so much darkness and suffering in our country and the world the last 11 days, it is nothing short of miraculous when a tiny ray of light cuts through the darkness and brings hope to a world in sorrow. So, Omaha Hambone, we thank you.

  • Spring 2017 Kickoff! (Jan 24th, 2017) - Our 35th season kicked off with what could very well turn out to be the most fund, least competitive season we have had in years. A dozen rookies make up more than a third of the league, so anything goes!

  • Inaugurating the Spring Season (Jan 21st, 2017) -

  • Look At Some Cute Things While Reading About Bowling (Nov 9th, 2016) - Scoot tried several times last night to get this write-up going, and even had various sets of images already loaded up to go with a theme for either way the election went. But he just couldn't bring himself to do it, and decided that what this nation needs now more than anything else is a bowling recap to help us heal. (Pictured left: Freda & Carl reconcile after some heated post-bowling election night bickering.)

  • No Change (Nov 1st, 2016) - You'd think that with new bowlers continuing to be introduced 11 weeks into the season, that we'd see some changes in the standings. But nope, not this week, every team stayed exactly where they were!

  • Ten. (Oct 25th, 2016) - You'd think we wouldn't be welcoming a new bowler into the league in Week 10, but hey, this is the Fall 2016 season so anything goes. And, in typical Fall 2016 season, the team he was going to bowl on didn't show up. But that's okay, he got to kick ass for another team instead.

  • Humptastically Excited about First (Sep 27th, 2016) - In a season that seems to almost be cursed, for the first time this season, every real team had a full roster despite four bowlers being absent. Not that that mattered in any way for keeping the defending champions from making an early start at running away with the season once again.

  • Don't Tread On Mead (Sep 20th, 2016) - Tonight was supposed to see our league finally as full as it's going to get this season, but like several other bowlers our new guy was infected with pestilence. However, Michael Mead showed up and inoculated us with a shot of kick-ass bowling that rocketed him to the top of the individual standings.

  • Dustin-Hofmann (Aug 30th, 2016) - Apart from some sexy new bowling shirts making a debut, the biggest development tonight was some pretty amazing performances by two of our non-anchors. Congratulations to Dustin and AJ on some mighty fine bowling tonight!

  • A Split-It First? (Aug 23rd, 2016) - For what could very well be the first time ever in their 9-season history, Split It & Hit It is in first place! How did it come to this? Read on to find out...

  • Back to Back Clinchings (May 10th, 2016) - Not even the threats of Mexican wrestlers and their drug lord sidekicks could keep Fallop Ian from clinching the championship!

  • Tailgating! (Apr 19th, 2016) - When bowling begins with a tailgating session — certainly a first in our league's history and very possibly a first in the history of AMF Pro Bowl — it's an omen that more unexpected things are in store. With new records set and trash talk backfiring, this was definitely an evening of surprises.

  • From Everyone Here, to Barely a Soul Left (Apr 12th, 2016) -

  • A Royal Mess (Apr 5th, 2016) - You can always tell when the Royals are playing -- every team that has people related to Freda on it has absent bowlers. Bowling went quickly for most, though we can't report on everything until Fallop Ian post-bowls.

  • Fear The Cheese (Mar 29th, 2016) - Why, oh why, do people continue to deny the power of The Cheese Stick Curse? Time and time again, the power of the molten mozzarella has been proven!

  • Is the Championship In the Cards? (Mar 15th, 2016) - With the midseason position round coming up next week already, one team already seems destined for the championship. • The 11th Frame -- Week 6, Spring 2016 (Mar 11th, 2016) -

  • Almost No Change (Mar 8th, 2016) - Despite some major upsets tonight, the only change in the standings was a slight fliop between Split It and Bowlgasmic.

  • Slow and Steady Wins the Race (Mar 1st, 2016) - Many in our league did not stick around to witness the end of bowling tonight. Nay, not even their children, nor their children's children, would serve as witnesses. But one day, far in the future, the final bowling matchup of the night will come to an end. Will we still be human then, or will we have evolved into a new, more enlightened species?

  • Fallop Ian Squeezes Through a Small Lead (Feb 23rd, 2016) - Half of tonight's matchups saw underdogs come out on top, while the other half saw bullies beat up on their prey. Which way did each matchup go? Read on to find out.

  • Theory of Relativity Proven (Feb 16th, 2016) - Just days after the announcement that gravity waves were detected, another portion of Einstein's Theory of Relativity was proven tonight when the matchup that involved Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! finished in less time than any other matchup! Granted, they shed half of their mass in order do do it, but it's all part of the famous equation.

  • Fall 2015 is in The Books! (Dec 15th, 2015) - With 32 seasons of bowling now behind us, the Fall 2015 season ended tonight as the 4th best season in league history. Both in terms of combined league average and in terms of the number (206) of 200+ games rolled. Congratulations, everyone, on a great season!

  • Full of Turkey, No One Wants to Move (Nov 24th, 2015) - Turkey week saw lots of turkeys but no movement in the standings, likely due to everyone being overloaded on tryptophan.

  • A Bunch Of Crap (Nov 17th, 2015) - Because the results of the bowling matchups this week were so expected, and therefore so boring, Scoot has absolutely no inspiration for what to write about this week. Due to this, just so Scoot would stay awake writing this, much of the following is a load of crap.

  • Someone is Cornholing the League (Nov 10th, 2015) - Holy Sandbaggers, Batman, has swept 3 weeks in a row and faces the blind team next week. Could a new threat to the Taffy domination be emerging?

  • Seans of the Deadly (Nov 4th, 2015) - With most of the league coming off their Royal high and returning to bowling, the Seans came out fighting and Salt Water Taffy continues their lead but gave a very slight hint of vulnerability. Or is that just called lulling the rest of the league into false hope?

  • A Royally Quick Night (Oct 27th, 2015) - One team pre-bowled, one team is post-bowling, and one team was only halfway here. A quick night of bowling got everyone away from the bowling alley's fuzzy TV's in time to watch the Royals win / lose / win / lose / win / screw it I'm going to bed.

  • Midterms Already? (Oct 13th, 2015) - With the position round already upon us, one bowler reached a new milestone, one bowler left us, and a "former" bowler returned to take his place.

Hopefully that's a trap they can escape from next week. Read on to see how the rest of the night came together...

  • Our Best Season Ever is History! (May 19th, 2015) -

  • Freda Finishes... First? (May 5th, 2015) - The championship ends the season wit the thinnest of win margins, the team that waS in last place most of the season opts to forfeit to regain their status, and an unlikely team was the first done bowling.

  • The League is Stuck! (Apr 21st, 2015) - Two weeks in a row have produced stagnant standings, but a record was shattered anyway!

  • Smokin'! (Apr 7th, 2015) - Due to Scoot being overwhelmed with work this week's synopsis is computer-generated, though he took the time to call out a few milestones...

  • Coe Golfs A Perfect 18! (Or something like that) (Mar 31st, 2015) - On the far left set of lanes, one team tripled their record from the first half of the season. On the far right hand set of lanes, a 300 was rolled. What else happened?

  • Nearly a Complete Reshuffle (Feb 10th, 2015) - With another week awaiting post-bowling scores, the full update cannot be calculated but it was pretty apparent that Week #4 action contained a lot of reshuffling of teams in the league standings...

  • Battle Tested, Brunker Approved (Jan 27th, 2015) - With two weeks of the Spring 2015 season in the books, six – count 'em, SIX! – bowlers are currently carrying averages above the 200 mark. The number six also made its mark in the league standings this week as that number of teams swapped places. Did we also mention that Carl Goetz shot a 666 series? Spooky.Ready to get all the details? You know what to do...

  • Wasting No Time (Jan 20th, 2015) - The Spring 2015 session kicked off Tuesday night and Kody Karnes wasted absolutely no time at serving notice that his team looks to repeat as champions. Setting a 237 average, Karnes quickly re-established his team at the top of the heap. Can they keep it until the Finals in May? Only time will tell...

  • A New King is Crowned (Dec 10th, 2014) - Sixteen weeks ago 32-bowlers on 8 different teams started out all with the same record of zero wins and zero losses, scheduled to do battle with one another at least twice. • For Whom the Bell Tolls (Dec 2nd, 2014) - The Finals lineup is now set for the Fall 2014 season of GutterAlley, our 30th Finals since we started this crazy league back in late 1999. Look how far we have come: in the very first season, it was a rare occurrence if anyone shot a 200 game. Now, we have people that average that on a weekly basis. This season has also seen more 200+ games than ever before, a testament as to how much we've improved over the past decade and a half.

  • Turkeys Galore (Nov 25th, 2014) - Turkeys, turkeys, turkeys...damn, there were a LOT of turkeys thrown during GutterAlley action in Week #14. Currently on pace to see more 200+ games than any other season in league history, twenty-two games of 200+ were thrown by more than a third of the roster this week alone. The top two teams in the league remained tied atop of the heap with The Finals just a hop, skip, and a jump away. Let's do this...

  • Eye on the Prize (Nov 18th, 2014) - GutterAlley action in Week #13 ended with the only two teams that have occupied first place in a tie at 34 wins apiece, potentially setting the stage for a winner-takes-all showdown in the Finals three weeks away. Two other teams, however, remain in striking distance as the Fall 2014 season marches on.

  • Vets Battle on Veteran's Day (Nov 11th, 2014) - As the nation paid its respects to those who served our country in the armed forces, the bowlers in GutterAlley showed little to no respect to those with any affiliation as they jockeyed for wins before the Finals arrive next month. While only two teams switched spots in the league standings, gaps are starting to form in-between the various teams throughout setting up what is sure to be an interesting finish to the season.

  • He's Baaaaaaack (Nov 4th, 2014) - With baseball season finally over, perfect attendance was *almost* achieved as 31 of the league's 32 bowlers showed up to do battle Tuesday night. Net result? Six teams swapped places while several bowlers make their own personal history with their highest games and series to date.Needless to say it was quite a night in GutterAlley action...

  • The Midway Point (Oct 14th, 2014) - The position round took place Tuesday night and, with it, six of the team eight teams in the league swapped places. My Three Sons continues to hold tightly onto 1st place with their 5-game league. Can they maintain that throughout the second half? Only time will tell..as other teams are creeping up on them. A mere four games separate 2nd through 6th place. This will be an interesting second half of the Fall 2014 season for sure.

  • Sprinting into the Position Round (Oct 7th, 2014) - With the position round coming next week, teams put up their last ditch efforts in an attempt to better their spot within next week's matchup. Some big games and series were rolled as five teams switched spots in the league standings.

Rob Kaszuba put up his first MVB of the season to bring Dixie Stampede out of the gutter. All in all, Week #4 action saw some big action.

  • Dixie Stampeded (Sep 16th, 2014) - This week only two teams managed to climb in the standings --- one of those scoring a major upset that shook up one end of the standings. Read on to learn the details...

  • Holding onto the Reigns (Sep 9th, 2014) - Despite a league record being shattered by the team right on their tail, My Three Sons – last season's reigning champs – refuse to relinquish control of 1st place for a second week in a row. Tentatively, five teams took over a new spot in the standings while we all wait for Split It & Hit It to complete their post-bowling.

  • Big Beginnings (Aug 26th, 2014) - Despite the heat outside, the majority of the bowlers in the 30th season of GutterAlley action showed up to kick off the season. Four teams ended their night up 3-1 while the other four went home down 1-3. There's a long road to the Finals in December and we're just getting warmed up.

  • Best. Series. Ever. (May 6th, 2014) - While the big story of the night should be that Pinterest wrapped up the Spring 2014 championship, their feat was overshadowed by the incredible output from Kody Karnes and his 773 series – the highest output by a bowler over the course of our 29 seasons. The previous record of Don Glasscock's 770 series has stood since the Spring 2008 season. Congratulations to Jonathan Vigliaturo, Andy McLeod, Ian Goetz, and Seth Gunderson on their title but also to Kody Karnes for rolling one HELL of a series.

  • Cannon Fodder (Apr 29th, 2014) - And boom goes the dynamite as Week #14 action sees the league leaders increasing their margin over the rest of the league back up to 3.5 games heading into the final week of the regular season. The Finals are just around the corner on May 13th.Check out how the rest of the league stacks up...

  • Zeroing in on the Target (Apr 22nd, 2014) - With their grasp on the Spring '14 title becoming looser and looser, Pinterest suffered yet another set back in Week #13 action as their lead over the rest of the league – once +8 – has been reduced to only a game and a half with two weeks left in the regular season. The Finals may end up being a winner takes all affair if things continue on their current trajectory. Step inside and read how it all happened in this week's recap...

  • The Home Stretch (Apr 15th, 2014) - Just a few short weeks back, it looked like Pinterest's crowning as the champions of the Spring 2014 season was just a matter of time due to their huge lead over the rest of the league. Now with less than a month until the Finals we're quickly learning that a couple of other teams are not quite ready to give up the fight. As the march until the final showdown on May 13th continues, the lead has evaporated to merely 3.5 games proving that it's not over quite yet...especially considering that the three teams still in it face one another over the next three weeks.

  • Tronned! (Apr 8th, 2014) - Pinterest had five weeks left to wrap up the championship crown but the rest of the league refuses to make it easy on them. Around the rest of the league, some big scores – and one REALLY big series – showed up as the Spring 2014 continues on.Check out how your favorite team did in this week's update...

  • Goetz It Done (Mar 25th, 2014) - Pinterest continues to extend their lead in the league standings as they now sit a full eight games out from second place. It's going to take some serious competition to derail the most energetic team this season from their steam rolling to the championship crown. • Position Round Robin (Mar 18th, 2014) - The Spring 2014 season is now halfway complete and Pinterest is laying claim to this season's crown. Having put up the 2nd best first half win record in league history, it's going to be their crown to lose as the season progresses. • Batting .857 (Mar 10th, 2014) - Not since the Fall '09 season has a team gotten off to such an incredible start to their season as Pinterest. Could they be on their way to being only the third team in league history to wrap up the championship by week #13? They'll definitely set the tone next week in the position round. But, for now, let's see how everyone landed for next week's big showdown...

  • Blue Skies for Gray (Mar 4th, 2014) - Week #6 was fraught with ups and downs as almost every single team found a new home in the league standings. At 18-2 so far, they are definitely the team to beat as they extend their lead out to four full games ahead of everyone else. Anchor and Hall of Famer Seth Gunderson is having the best season of his career and has his mind set firmly on delivering a championship to his team this time around after falling just short last season. Did we mention that he also shot his all-time career series Tuesday night in the process? Yeah, he did.

  • UpgrayeDD Upgrade (Feb 11th, 2014) - The temperatures outside of the bowling alley may have been below freezing but things were certainly hot inside as 21 bowlers raised their averages on the lanes during Week #3 action.Six teams swapped places on the league standings – none moreso than the men of UpgrayeDD who improved three spots – as the Spring 2014 season marches on.

  • Holey Bowley! (Jan 28th, 2014) - The ups and downs of Week #2 proved to live up to expectations as every single bowler in the league (minus those absent or setting their average this week) either raised or lowered their average. Three teams swept, three teams got swept, and two teams battled one another to a standstill at two games apiece – and even resulted in Bill Krejci knocking a big hole in the wall next to Lane 48. Just your typical night of GutterAlley action...

  • Big Games, Big Averages to Start the Season (Jan 21st, 2014) - The 29th season of GutterAlley action got underway Tuesday night and saw some career high games shot by several individuals...on opening night. When will these people ever learn? (Nov 27th, 2013) - The Finals will simply be a formality next week as the men of Bowltron – Bryan Mohr, Rob Kaszuba, John Boren, and Ryan Doll – wrapped it all up Tuesday night to become the Fall 2013 champions. • Almost to the Finish Line (Nov 19th, 2013) - There are only two more weeks left in the Fall 2013 season and wins are more crucial than ever for the few teams still in the hun to walk away the champions. Tuesday night's action righted the course for one team while it switched things up for three others as we draw closer and closer to the big matchups of the Finals.Week #14 saw some big series from some familiar faces in a season fraught with below average performances. Will this trend of high scores continue? Only time will tell...

  • Things are Getting Tighter (Nov 12th, 2013) - Time is ticking away in the Fall 2013 season and there are now four teams in contention for the title. • Huge Bewbies (Sep 4th, 2013) - The scores from Week #3 across the league were a vast improvement from how the Fall 2013 session got underway...but no one put up team numbers like Bewbie Dance. • Blake Busts Out (Aug 27th, 2013) - Week #2 works its magic once again by making every single team trade places with one another in the league standings. (Apr 30th, 2013) - Despite one team opting to post-bowl this week, the season has now come down to a potential Finals showdown between current league leaders Will Strike if Provoked and Dragon Balls. • Breaking Away? (Apr 23rd, 2013) - The Finals are three weeks away and one team has started to separate themselves from the rest of the pack with their eye on the title. While various scenarios are still possible, momentum seems to be on the side of the former championship team that last won it all just last Spring. Can they be stopped or are they simply breaking away? Also this week – a slumping vet turns his season around and earns #1 Power Ranked Bowler honors in the process, a quiet bowler puts on the first MVB performance of her career, and the league shatters the all-time record for most 200+ games in a single season. • Arkansas Ass Kickin' (Mar 19th, 2013) - Almost not showing this week, Bill Krejci – the anchor of the appropriately named Murder, He Wrote – arrived fashionably late to deliver an incredible performance in this season's position round to propel his team to a mere half-game out of first place. • Colossal Debuts (Jan 23rd, 2013) - The Spring 2013 season got underway Tuesday night and a good portion of the league forgot that you're not supposed to bowl lights out and set big averages on the first night. Ian Goetz, pictured, was the biggest ignorer of this time honored tradition.Want to see just how well people shot in Week #1? Well, read on...

  • Fall 2012: And the winner is... • Tentative Turkeys (Nov 20th, 2012) - Thanksgiving is just around the corner...and so are the Finals. One team has opted to post bowl this week so the true standings, MVB, #1 Power Ranked bowler, and Tournament of Champions results cannot be completely calculated just yet. Want to see what did transpire, though? You've come to the right place.

  • We've Got Big Ballz (Nov 13th, 2012) - Ballz Out proved, once again, that when they are scheduled to bowl whichever team is in first place they are THE team to be feared. Cliff Barendsen torched his opponents and sent them packing after their short lived tenure at the top of the league standings with yet another incredible performance. How did the rest of the league standings shape up? Let's get onto that write-up, shall we?

  • The Dark Knight Rises (Nov 7th, 2012) - For the third time this season, another team has taken over the top spot on the league standings. • Taking It On the Chin (Oct 23rd, 2012) - Just about every underdog team in tonight's matchups made sure to make their opponents take it on the chin as the league standings tightened up in the second half of the Fall 2012 season. Despite only three teams changing places, leads over other teams have been significantly diminished as only ten games separate all eight teams in the league. With 28 games still left to win, it's honestly anyone's title to take. Will your favorite team make the most of these next seven weeks?

  • Position Round Repositionings (Oct 16th, 2012) - With only two teams staying put, every other team found itself in a new spot on the league standings after the position round. Huge games and series were recorded across the board in what was probably the highest scoring midway point of any season in league history. Even Hall of Famer Scott "Scooter J" Murdock shot his first 600+ series. What in the hell are they putting in the beer on Tuesday nights?!?Ready to get the full recap? You know what to do.

  • Missed it by THAT Much... (Oct 9th, 2012) - Last week, David Codding rolled a perfect game. This week, Carl Goetz fell one pin shy of joining Codding in perfection after rolling eleven strikes in a row but ending with a 299. Other bowlers around the league also had big games and huge series. What's going on with these guys...and can they share it with the rest of us?!?See that pin? Carl HATES that pin.Dive into this week's writeup...

  • Absolute Perfection (Oct 2nd, 2012) - One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Twelve. Twelve strikes in a row. David Codding becomes the first person to roll a perfect game on league night. It doesn't get much better than that, folks. Actually, it cannot.

  • Rise of the Mayans (Sep 25th, 2012) - Week #5 saw some domination as three of the four matchups ended in opponents getting swept. Only one matchup was a real roller coaster thanks to an MVB performance from Teresa Deterding that ended in a 2-2 split. Five of the eight teams changed places in the league standings and two bowlers shot lights out to both surpass the highest series thrown this season so far. Hop on into this week's writeup to get the lowdown...

  • Kiernan Takes Over the Crown (Sep 18th, 2012) - When you have eight teams on a roster, you don't expect 75% of them to swap places on a single Tuesday. Well, Week #4 was that week. The highlight of the night, however, was Steve Kiernan throwing a 259 in Game #3 to take over the highest game thrown all season.

  • Three is a Magic Number (Aug 29th, 2012) - The new season. Eight teams. 32 bowlers. Initial week results? 3-1 for four teams, 1-3 for the others. Nothing like consistency to get things started, eh?The highlight of the night, though, was seeing Rob Kaszuba receiving his surprise replacement bowling ball after a mishap over the summer that destroyed his regular ball. Thanks to everyone who pitched in on the gift!

  • Spring 2012: And the winner is... (May 8th, 2012) - The 25th season of the GutterAlley bowling league came to a close and the list of winners from the season favorites to individual achievements were announced...as well as Bob Brunker, the latest inductee into the Hall of Fame.

  • Finally the finale, the Finals (May 1st, 2012) - The 25th session of GutterAlley came to a close Tuesday night and, while there was no drama surrounding the big finish for first place, the Goetz boys – as well as AJ Hofmann – made some noise of their own as the sun set on the season. Each now have a story of their own...

  • The Big 5-0 (Apr 24th, 2012) - Before last night, only two teams in league history (one confirmed, one unconfirmed) had earned 50+ wins in a single season. Tuesday night saw another team join that elite group as league champions The Turkey Hunters added another accolade to their incredible run in the Spring 2012 season...

  • BAROOOOOOO-tiful (Apr 17th, 2012) - In the battle for second place, Black Belt Jones did something that no other team has been able to do this entire season – walk away the victor in a matchup against back-to-back league champions, The Turkey Hunters. And, tentatively, though no teams really moved up or down in the standings, every game won means more money in each teams' envelopes at the end of the season so teams aren't letting up as the conclusion of the Spring 2012 session nears...

  • V for Victory (Apr 11th, 2012) -

  • Every Pin Counts (Apr 3rd, 2012) - We've said it before and we'll say it again...every pin counts. With several games settled Tuesday night by the smallest of numbers – one even settled by a single pin – the smallest of missteps during the contest can come back to haunt you when all is said and done. Week 12 saw wins and losses settled in the 10th frame, big performances from some likely and unlikely sources, and next to no movement in the league standings. Ready to hear all about it? Let's get it on, then.

  • The Beard Man Cometh (Mar 28th, 2012) - Barring a miracle, the reigning champions have all but wrapped up their second winning season as they continue to lay waste to any and all teams they face on the lanes. With that, it's now simply a battle for second place as the league marches on towards the Finals on May 1st...and Jonathan Vigliaturo plans to be that team as he continues to improve weekly.

  • Still Some Fight in 'Em (Updated!) (Mar 20th, 2012) - The family rivalry continues as mother hen Freda Schroeder and her Turkey Hunters continue to crush all who face them while son Carl Goetz and daughter Angela Bradford of Strange Bedfellows strive to narrow the gap between the two teams. With only a month and a half left of league bowling, is there enough time to make up the difference? Many think that the Bedfellows should just go to bed...but maybe they still have some fight in 'em.Ready to find out how this week went down? Let's go.

  • Ready, Set, Restart! (Mar 14th, 2012) - With the position round behind the league now, the schedule begins anew with a repeat of the first seven weeks of the season. Did history repeat itself this time around? Not quite, as several teams exacted revenge against their Week #1 opponents in a quest to move up in the league standings. Ready for the second half? So are we...

  • Pole Position (Mar 6th, 2012) - Ahh, the position round...that time honored mid-season event that allows teams to either really put it to their closest competitors and climb the league standings. While one team continues to further extend their domination over the league, other teams in the middle tightened the distance between themselves and the teams just ahead of them. How did everyone do? You're just a click away.

  • Gimme a T! (Feb 28th, 2012) - Simply put, Tuesday night belonged to Teresa Deterding of Splits or Swallows. Earning both Most Valuable Bowler AND #1 Power Ranked Bowler nods, Deterding rolled the best game and series of her career on the week leading into the position round. Is T setting the pace for her team as they get ready to venture into the 2nd half of the season? We'll just have to wait and find out, won't we?

  • Two Records in One (Feb 22nd, 2012) - Personal bests left and right – high games as well as high series. Scores big enough to earn spots on a number of Top 25 lists as well as one in the top five all-time records in league history. One team even tied the biggest output from a 5-person team Tuesday night. What the hell has gotten into all of these people?!?

  • Oh, Bowling...I Love You! (Feb 14th, 2012) - Valentine's Day is typically a time in which you spend your evening with your true love. Such was the case with the faithful as they took the lanes to rekindle a romance with high scores. Love is a fickle creature and, just like in real life, some managed to find bliss. Unlike love, however, people were thrilled when they struck out. Ready to find out how everyone did as they aimed for the lane's arrows rather than expecting Cupid's?

  • Big Games, Big Series (Feb 7th, 2012) - Several bowlers notched their all-time personal bests during Week #4, including one game that looked to be on pace to take the all-time league record. In the end, only one team managed to sweep their opponents and extend their hold onto the top spot in the league standings. The Tournament of Champions is also off and running in our first official season of running it from the start. Enough of this jibber jabber, let's see how everyone did...

  • The Blue and the Gray (Jan 24th, 2012) - Week #2 of GutterAlley's 25th season is now in the history books and with it came some rather impressive performances from what some would consider unlikely sources. Let's find out, shall we?

  • And the winner is... (Dec 21st, 2011) - Carl Goetz became the 5th bowler to be inducted into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame on Tuesday, capping off the Fall 2011 Fun Night. The winners of the Season Favorites were also announced along with the other various season-ending awards. Ready to find out who all was chosen? Read on, then, dammit!

  • The Big Finish (Dec 13th, 2011) - What a whirlwind finish to the Fall 2011 season – Ryan Doll shoots a 700+ series, 5 out of the eight teams swapped places in the league standings, and several people rolled their all time personal best games and series including this week's Most Valuable Bowler Eric Summers. Not a bad way to end it all, eh?

  • Futility for the Finals (Dec 6th, 2011) - Freda Schroeder, Phil Schroeder, Dennis "Pops" Laube, and Aubrey Moren finished what they set out to do this season – winning a championship. Besting all other teams en route to the season's best record, No Pinheads were crowned the Fall 2011 champions a full week before the Finals. How's that for a finish? As it turns out, every single team will face the team they faced this week in the Finals. Again, how's THAT for a finish? And, anyone have any idea why Pops looks like he's constipated in their championship photo to the left?

  • Two Games Away (Nov 29th, 2011) - The members of No Pinheads have been in first place since Week #4. Here we are in Week #14 and they are only two games away from ending any doubt as to which team will come away with the championship crown in the Fall 2011 season. Only two weeks remain and, with only one team even able to knock them out, things are looking pretty good for them. Not a single team managed to move up or down this week, despite some stellar games from a few individuals. Ready to hear how everyone did? Let's go, then...

  • Obviously You're Not a Golfer (Nov 15th, 2011) - Only three more weeks or regular season bowling remain before the eight teams of the Fall 2011 season march into the Finals. Theoretically, any one of four teams could come away with the crown but time is quickly running out. While none of those teams exchanged places in the league standings, the gaps in-between them have tightened setting up these last few weeks for quite a showdown. Two surprising and outstanding performances came to light Tuesday night with Sarah Sauer and Kelly Sands earning #1 Power Ranked Bowler and MVB nods respectively. How did everyone do, though? Let's find out...

  • The Lad and the Legend (Nov 8th, 2011) - Nine different bowlers hoisted games in the 200+ range Tuesday night but, despite the heavy hittings of the pins, only two teams managed to swap places in the league standings. Despite the moves, the gaps in-between teams have shrunk setting the stage for a fun final month of the Fall 2011 season. Can league leaders No Pinheads hold onto first place for the remainder of the season? Only time will tell. And who the hell let Pat Searcy into NKC Pro Bowl?!? Find out why in this week's update...

  • Maintaining the Status Quo (Nov 2nd, 2011) - Week #10 had big games...big series...big wins. And yet, hardly anything changed in the league standings. With the Finals a mere six weeks away, if someone plans to challenge the current standings leaders they best make their move soon before it's too late.

  • Still On Top (Oct 25th, 2011) - No Pinheads continues to sit atop the standings, a full eight games ahead of the rest of the league. In the Spring 2008 session, these same four bowlers wrapped up their season as league champions. They seem to be on pace to finish on top but the rest of the league has other plans. Is it too late to catch them or is the fun just getting started? Ready to find out how everything went down this week? Let's get it on.

  • Compromising Position Round (Oct 18th, 2011) - The Fall 2011 season is now half over and, with the position round behind us, the stage has been set for an epic second half. With the league now sensing that No Pinheads can be ousted from the top of the league standings, it's now just a matter of time before some team rises to the occasion to do just that. The second half belongs to anyone and it's now just a matter of watching how it all unfolds. Game on.

  • The Untouchables (Oct 5th, 2011) - Like several seasons before, No Pinheads has dominated the first half of the season. Will this be the season that they can keep up this pace and carry it all the way through the Finals? Seven other teams have plans to derail them on their quest. With the position round just around the corner, there's no telling how things will shape up as the season continues.

  • Constant Focus (Sep 27th, 2011) - Week #5 wrapped up Tuesday night and, with it, five different teams swapped places in the league standings. Second through sixth place shuffled with the biggest move in the positive belonging to Kitten Mittons, compliments of an outstanding performance by this Ryan Simonet...

  • STFU, Johnny! (Sep 13th, 2011) - Week #3 is now in the history books and the standings have once again reshuffled with nearly every team moving into a new spot. Big games brought big wins for two teams who now find themselves sitting atop the league with a record of 9-3. Will these two teams meet in the Finals? Only time will tell.Ready to find out how your favorite team did this week? Well, let's go...

The next season of the league will start up in late August for those of you interested.Ready for all the details from the Fun Night? Well let's go...

  • Analysis: Season Favorites (May 17th, 2011) -

  • Get 'er Done (May 10th, 2011) - A western-theme washed over Week 15 as the bowlers of GutterAlley showed up to find the NKC Pro-Bowl packed with hundreds of cowboys and cowgirls enjoying a company party. This merely set the stage as the shootouts began to gain some ground in the last week of regular season bowling before the Finals next week. While no teams actually exchanged places in the league standings, ground was gained by several teams in preparation for the last week to earn more money in the prize fund envelopes.

  • A Decisive Rout (May 3rd, 2011) - Faced with the very real possibility that their grasp on first place could be taken away from them, the men of S*I*C*K rose to the occasion with their highest output in quite some time to crush closest opponents Dolls and Balls. Just behind them, teams added more wins to their record in preparation for the position round styled Finals where teams will bowl their closest competitors. Did S*I*C*K clinch the title this week? Read on...

  • Big Games, Big Wins (Apr 19th, 2011) - Something was definitely in the water (or beer) during Week 12 as numerous big games came out of seemingly nowhere to bring about some much needed victories. With the Finals less than a month away, it's now or never if teams are going to propel themselves higher up in the standings en route to the title. Heeding that call, several teams rose to the occasion and added more notches in their win columns against some pretty tough competition. S*I*C*K continues to lead all teams, but is their time at the top coming to an end? We'll certainly know here in the next couple of weeks...

  • Rally of the Dolls (Apr 12th, 2011) - When the league began, Ryan Doll claimed that his team this season was "just for fun." Throw in unexpected arm surgery on his bowling arm and a roster member that has been there only once during the 11 weeks of the season so far, you'd think that they wouldn't be ranked that high in the league standings. Well, that's not even close to the case. Moving into 2nd place tonight after an impressive return to the lanes, Dolls and Balls is definitely on the move. Ready to see how the league rolled? Let's do this.

  • Bunch of Yo-Yos (Apr 5th, 2011) - Life is filled with ups and downs and the wins, losses and scores from Week #10 in the VML Bowling league certainly reflected that Tuesday night. First and second place took a beating from the 5th and 3rd place teams respectively while individual bowlers across the entire league shot well over or well under their averages. Despite all of these wild swings, the standings remained relatively stable with only two teams swapping places this week. The Finals are only a month and a half away so who knows where we'll be this time next week if this trend continues.Ready to get your Duncan on?

  • Touch It for the Win (Mar 15th, 2011) - Seven weeks. Eight teams. The first half of the league is now complete with each team having faced one another once. With the outcome of this week, we now know who will face off next week in the mid-season position round. The surprise of the evening easily goes to Touch My Vlad who notched their first sweep "against real people" (to quote Sarah Manning). Congrats, Vlad!Ready to see how everyone else did right before the rolloff?

  • Chip Off the Old Block (Feb 22nd, 2011) - We're now a month into the league and the league standings are offering up some surprises. While S*I*C*K continues to distance themselves from everyone else, there's been quite the shakeup in the teams in the 2nd through 4th place spots. Several powerhouse teams continue to struggle while other teams savor the sweet nectar of victory at their expense. This week's breakout performance easily goes to Ian Goetz, pictured to the left. Rolling his all-time personal best game and series, Goetz one-upped his father and teammate Carl for the first time all season. Good rolling definitely runs in the family.Ready to see how everyone did?

  • WIN-ter Wonderland (Feb 8th, 2011) - While even more snow fell onto the Greater Kansas City area, the rollers of the VML Bowling League were making pins fall as Week #2 got underway. No one made more pin topple Tuesday than Carl Goetz, pictured on the left. After all was said and done, the same two teams remain tied atop the league standings while the rest of the league tightened up enough where 1.5 games separate 3rd through 8th place.Ready to find out how your favorite teams performed? Let's go, then...

  • The Race Begins (Jan 25th, 2011) - With eight teams in the race to win the Spring 2011 championship, the battles are underway with two teams coming away with a perfect 4-0 start. Along with that, we've already witnessed the first tie of the season with two teams experiencing gridlock in their very first game of their matchup. Who knows what other mishaps will take place over the next 4+ months but all we know is that the 23rd season is underway and we're glad to be back.

  • Time to Pick Teams (Jan 11th, 2011) - Two weeks from today, the next session of the VML Bowling League starts up. With that looming on the horizon, 'tis time to pick teams.Want to find out which teams are already fully-formed? Well, check it out...

  • It's 2011: Open Recruitment! (Jan 3rd, 2011) - The 2011 Spring league is now forming. We're aiming to have a full 40-person roster and spaces are filling up rather nicely in order to meet our goal. We still need some more people, though. The next session begins on Tuesday, January 25th at the NKC Pro Bowl in North Kansas City, Missouri. Are you interested in bowling? If so, please let us know.

  • Happy Holidays! (Dec 15th, 2010) - The Fall 2010 bowling season officially came to a conclusion Tuesday night with the disbursement of the prize fund and individual awards. • It's a Wrap! Finals Next Week (Nov 30th, 2010) - This season's powerhouse team proved to be the Pin Pricks as they clinched the title one week before the Finals. Congratulations to Ian Goetz, Carl Goetz, David Codding and Ken M. Wilson for winning the 2010 Fall season of the VML Bowling League. While the rest of the league spread themselves out quite a bit on the second to last week of bowling, the teams in 2nd and 3rd place end up with a mere half of a game separating one another. The season's individual achievements reached an ending as well with eight bowlers lined up to receive additional money in their envelopes at the end of the season. Want to find out who garnered the extra green? Read on...

  • Serving Up Turkeys (Nov 23rd, 2010) - On a week where it is customary to give thanks for what we have, the teams of the VML Bowling League thanked one another by handing out turkeys -- either in the form of three strikes in a row or handing out victories to their opponents. The top three teams in the league have an opportunity over these two final weeks to move into the all-time record books for compiling some of the best win percentages in league history. Can they all three make it or will they stumble? We'll know in two weeks when the Fall season comes to a close.

  • Win, Lose or Split (Oct 26th, 2010) - With the position round behind everyone now, you'd think that there would start to be some kind of shift taking place in the league standings. Amazingly this is not the case in the VML Bowling League. Week 10 came and went with little to no standings-based fanfare, although some pretty important games were won that could make quite a difference in the long run.One team seems on its way to breaking into the top half of the standings, disrupting the stronghold that Kitten Mittons, Ground Mosque Zero, No Pinheads and the Pin Pricks have held onto since the start of the season...

  • We Rise, We Fall (Oct 12th, 2010) - With the league officially at its half-way mark, everyone squared off in the highly anticipated position round. The chance for teams to completely reshuffle the league standings is at its zenith during weeks like this but only two teams took advantage of this while everyone else stayed put. A new team has taken over first place – barely – while the team with this week's Most Valuable Bowler also clawed their way up the list.Ready to find out how everyone did? Well, let's find out...

  • The Monkeys Are Feeding (Oct 6th, 2010) - With the position round coming up, you'd think that there would be a big shakeup in the standings as teams jockeyed for better positions. Such was not the case on Week #7 when no team changed places whatsoever although various teams improved their leads heading into the big showdown. We here at GutterAlley.com think that the true shifts will come about the next time the league meets. One team, however, managed to quadruple their win record in a single night. Impressive, eh?Want to see how everyone performed? You've come to the right place...

  • Can They Be Stopped? (Sep 14th, 2010) - One month into the bowling league and the members of No Pinheads are definitely kicking ass and taking names. With an 11-game winning streak under their belts at the moment, the team continues to distance themselves from the rest of the pack. However, the teams beneath them continue to battle it out in an effort to derail their championship efforts. Case in point? An unlikely bowler brought her A game this week while securing Most Valuable Bowler honors and derailing the reigning champions from inching within striking distance of the current league leaders...

  • Ups and Downs, Ins and Outs (Sep 7th, 2010) - During Week #3, some things stayed the same – No Pinheads still remain the team to beat – while some thing radically changed. After a forgettable Week #2, one bowler managed to completely reverse his team's fortunes with a powerful performance to earn this week's MVB nod while pushing them into third place. On the flip side, Feed the Monkey and Ground Zero Mosque took a brutal beating at the hands of their competitors. Want the full scoop? Read on...

  • A Rare Feat (Aug 24th, 2010) - The VML Bowling League officially kicked off Tuesday night with a mixture of long-tenured veterans alongside fresh new faces making up the cast of characters. Nine new rookies made their debut this season, including a last minute substitution called in at the final minute after another rookie announced he was dropping out from the league before even getting started. Two teams accomplished a rare feat, though, by sweeping their opponents on the first night – something that has only happened a handful of times throughout the years. On paper, these two teams are scheduled to face one another in the Finals but with the season just getting underway, it's still truly anyone's season to win. Want to find out how everyone did?
