Bowl To The Future

Posted by ScooterJ February 22, 2017 Spring 2017, Week 5 View Score Sheets

Okay, get ready for this, our league has just undergone time travel and split off into an alternate reality.

Last night while working up the scoresheets, things just weren't adding up no matter what Scoot tried. After a great deal of frustrating recap sheet auditing, it finally came to our attention that a blind series we had recorded for Michael Gordon back in Week 3 had actually been pre-bowled and we never got the scores for it.

So, moments ago, week 3's scores were re-entered, and all affected matchups since then have been re-calculated. The result is a history of the past 3 sessions considerably different from the one we have already experienced. In this new timeline, Ebowla experienced a week as the first-place team, and Frankee's Uncles are now enjoying their second consecutive week in first place.

Standings, Power Rankings, MVBs, and the Tournament of Champions are all affected and have been updated to reflect the new reality. However we will not be changing any of the past writeups. Though they do not technically count as Fake News, we are leaving them as a testament to the Alternativee Facts that once were. (That, plus Scoot is just to damn lazy to go back and rewrite them.)

Now that we have caught up to the present, here's where we now stand on this new timeline:

On the forever pin-dropping and ball-eating lanes 1 & 2: Terra Bowler received a schooling from a half-prebowled Frankee's Uncles. With a 514 series, Scott Murdock led Terra Bowler to their complete demise. Meanwhile, led by #1 Power Ranked Carl Goetz and his 682 series, Frankee's Uncles notched up a mostly-easy four wins. Terra Bowler remains in 4th place, while Frankee's Uncles remains in 1st.

On lanes 3 & 4: Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! found themselves exposed to a borderline-ebowlic Ebowla. Led by Aubrey Moren and his immune-boosting 587 series, Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! notched 3 wins against Ebowla. Meanwhile, Sean Miller's infectious 514 series Ebowla could only get 1 win. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 3rd place, while Ebowla remains in 5th.

On lanes 5 & 6: Omaha Hambone began their recovery from the shock of their new reality with a few wins against Suckeredusintoit. Led by Aaron Barber and his 623 series, Omaha Hambone secured 3 wins. Meanwhile, Brandon Darby used the power of his 467 series, to get a win for Suckeredusintoit. Omaha Hambone remains in 2nd place, while Suckeredusintoit drops 1 spot to 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 7 & 8: FYWFK did battle with Trump's Toupee. Led by Dan Crosby and his 410 series, FYWFK split the series with Trump's Toupee. Meanwhile, led by Dustin Schmeltz and his 435 series (and assisted with James Tott's Most Valuable Bowler performance), Trump's Toupee ended in a stalemate. FYWFK remains in 6th place, while Trump's Toupee moves up 1 spot to 7th.

LOOK! THERE TO THE RIGHT! IT'S BOBBY DOLLARS!!!!! ------>

This week in Tournament of Champions, Aaron Barber won Division 1 to move into 2nd place behind Ken Wilson. Scott Murdock topped Division 2 to move into a tie with Jonathan Vigliaturo. Dennis Laube took Division 3 and is now tied with Pat Hamell. Finally, James Tott topped Division 4 and is now tied with Dennis Cummings.

Bowlers entering The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (252), Aubrey Moren (246), Brandon Darby (210), Carl Goetz (212,235,235), Ken M. Wilson (215,246), Kody Karnes (203,203), Michael Gordon (216), Michael Mead (201), Phil Schroeder (206), and Sean Miller (203)

  FROM THE GUTTER (GUTTER QUOTE)
"Oh! Did AJ tell you what happened here last week?" [Scoot: Yeah! He told me how the place was swarmed with cops and they dragged off a guy in handcuffs and ankle cuffs.] "Oh, yeah, I guess that happened too. No, this was better! They brought us samples of deviled eggs!"

An apparently hungry James Tott, at Chicken n Pickle right after bowling, more excited about the memory of free appetizer samples than all the police drama that was going on around him at the same time.
