  • Spring 2020 Coronalicious Recap (May 4th, 2020) - Though we began this season right as the very first coronavirus quarantine went into place (in Wuhan), there were some other things that happened during our bowling season you probably forgot all about. Such as (in no particular order): League legend Pat Searcy passed after a 2-year battle with cancer. Donald Trump's impeachment trial. Wildfires in Australian. Mass anti-US protests in Iraq. Kobe Bryant died. Brexit. The brink of war with Iran. The Chiefs won the Superbowl. We had a parade.

  • The End of an Era (Dec 4th, 2019) - As our 20th year of bowling came to a close and we prepare to embark on our next 20 years, the bowling alley echoed the moment by ripping out the ball returns and scoring consoles we've been kicking/using since our formation and replaced them with spiffy new ones have no idea the abuse they will soon endure. Despite the myriad of exceptions they annoying quizzed Scoot on last night, See you next Tuesday! remains the championship team so now gets to perform next week's awards presentation, which according to league rules must be done in the form of a musical every 40th season. Next week we meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. • Fall 2017 Recap (Dec 13th, 2017) - 36 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while we didn't set much in the way of records, having 10 teams brought us some new twists and turns and the largest pool of prize money (just shy of $2200) we have seen in quite some time!

  • Another Season, Another Upset (Dec 5th, 2017) - For the second season in a row, a second place team made a shocking comeback at the last possible moment to steal the championship from the expected winner. And, the common element in both comebacks is Aaron Barber. Is he a good luck charm that teams will fight to recruit in the off-season?

  • Holy NotContra, Batman! (Nov 28th, 2017) - With the last regular night of bowling in the history books, the remote possibility of the season ending in a three-way tie has faded away. Instead, next week Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! will attempt to protect their cherished first-place position from their only remaining challenger: NotContra.

  • Spring 2017 Recap (May 19th, 2017) - 35 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while this season may not have set a lot of records, it still has a few firsts and a lot of fun moments. And the surprise come-from-behind championship win by Omaha Hambone marks the first title win in quite some time that didn't come from ne of the long-time dynasties.

  • Tightening the Grip (Apr 25th, 2017) - Next week is the last week of regular season bowling, and after a season that at first seemed to be heading toward finally letting someone else win for a change, it appears the dark overlords are getting a tighter grasp on yet another victory. Just two weeks left for any of the remaining competition to make a play!

  • Gearing Up for the Position Round (Mar 7th, 2017) - The season is already nearly halfway over, and as we move into next week's position round the only shakeup in the standings is the surprise result of Frankee's Uncles no longer rolling on lanes 1-2 next week.

  • Up In The Air (Nov 29th, 2016) - All bowling scores are in, and the headline for this write-up doesn't need to change! After ruling the roost all season, Vote JV is now in a tie with the team that is trying very hard to live up to the namesake of its acronymous name. It litterally comes down to who wins next week!

  • Spring 2016 is History (May 24th, 2016) -

  • Why Did Pocahontas Leave Her Hairpiece By The Campfire? (May 18th, 2016) - Tonight, on our last real night of bowling, we were joined by several new people that had never rolled in our league all season. It was the strangest thing, though... none of them were ever seen at the same time as Amber, Michelle S., Angela, Bob, Kody, or John Boren. Very! weird!

  • Tailgating! (Apr 19th, 2016) - When bowling begins with a tailgating session — certainly a first in our league's history and very possibly a first in the history of AMF Pro Bowl — it's an omen that more unexpected things are in store. With new records set and trash talk backfiring, this was definitely an evening of surprises.

  • The 11th Frame -- Week 6, Spring 2016 (Mar 11th, 2016) -

  • Theory of Relativity Proven (Feb 16th, 2016) - Just days after the announcement that gravity waves were detected, another portion of Einstein's Theory of Relativity was proven tonight when the matchup that involved Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! finished in less time than any other matchup! Granted, they shed half of their mass in order do do it, but it's all part of the famous equation.

  • Fall 2015 is in The Books! (Dec 15th, 2015) - With 32 seasons of bowling now behind us, the Fall 2015 season ended tonight as the 4th best season in league history. • Some Taxing Matchups (Apr 14th, 2015) - Bowlers getting tax refunds bowled well, bowlers who owe bowled terribly, and bowlers who haven't started their taxes at all yet were no-shows. Who fell into what category? Read on to find out.

  • Smokin'! (Apr 7th, 2015) - Due to Scoot being overwhelmed with work this week's synopsis is computer-generated, though he took the time to call out a few milestones...

  • Yabba Dabba Dublin (Mar 17th, 2015) - With several bowlers too bloated from binge-drinking shamrock shakes all day, bowling didn't take nearly as long tonight as it usually does. Unfortunately half of the teams Grimaced while the other half hoarded all or most of the lucky charms.

  • Balls of Amazingness (Feb 25th, 2015) - Another odd week of bowling shakes up the top of the standings, but little else!

  • Battle Tested, Brunker Approved (Jan 27th, 2015) - With two weeks of the Spring 2015 season in the books, six – count 'em, SIX! – bowlers are currently carrying averages above the 200 mark. The number six also made its mark in the league standings this week as that number of teams swapped places. Did we also mention that Carl Goetz shot a 666 series? Spooky.Ready to get all the details? You know what to do...

  • A New King is Crowned (Dec 10th, 2014) - Sixteen weeks ago 32-bowlers on 8 different teams started out all with the same record of zero wins and zero losses, scheduled to do battle with one another at least twice. Tuesday night saw the end results of those slugfests with the men of the brashly named 921+ walking away as the champions of the Fall 2014 season of GutterAlley action.Find out how the Finals went...

  • Welcome to the Fall 2014 Season! (Aug 26th, 2014) -

  • Pinterest Pins the Championship (May 13th, 2014) - The Spring 2014 season came to a close with the Finals a mere formality as Pinterest had already wrapped up the championship last week. Congratulations to title winners Jonathan Vigliaturo, Andy McLeod, Ian Goetz, and Seth Gunderson on their impressive run, ending with the 6th best win record in league history. The full recap can be found inside...

  • Best. Series. Ever. (May 6th, 2014) - While the big story of the night should be that Pinterest wrapped up the Spring 2014 championship, their feat was overshadowed by the incredible output from Kody Karnes and his 773 series – the highest output by a bowler over the course of our 29 seasons. The previous record of Don Glasscock's 770 series has stood since the Spring 2008 season. Congratulations to Jonathan Vigliaturo, Andy McLeod, Ian Goetz, and Seth Gunderson on their title but also to Kody Karnes for rolling one HELL of a series.

  • Cannon Fodder (Apr 29th, 2014) - And boom goes the dynamite as Week #14 action sees the league leaders increasing their margin over the rest of the league back up to 3.5 games heading into the final week of the regular season. The Finals are just around the corner on May 13th.Check out how the rest of the league stacks up...

  • Zeroing in on the Target (Apr 22nd, 2014) - With their grasp on the Spring '14 title becoming looser and looser, Pinterest suffered yet another set back in Week #13 action as their lead over the rest of the league – once +8 – has been reduced to only a game and a half with two weeks left in the regular season. The Finals may end up being a winner takes all affair if things continue on their current trajectory. Step inside and read how it all happened in this week's recap...

  • The Home Stretch (Apr 15th, 2014) - Just a few short weeks back, it looked like Pinterest's crowning as the champions of the Spring 2014 season was just a matter of time due to their huge lead over the rest of the league. Now with less than a month until the Finals we're quickly learning that a couple of other teams are not quite ready to give up the fight. As the march until the final showdown on May 13th continues, the lead has evaporated to merely 3.5 games proving that it's not over quite yet...especially considering that the three teams still in it face one another over the next three weeks.

  • Tronned! (Apr 8th, 2014) - Pinterest had five weeks left to wrap up the championship crown but the rest of the league refuses to make it easy on them. Around the rest of the league, some big scores – and one REALLY big series – showed up as the Spring 2014 continues on.Check out how your favorite team did in this week's update...

  • They're Going In Dry (Feb 25th, 2014) - Strap yourselves in, gang, as the men of Pinterest continue to emphatically add more and more wins to their already impressive record this season. At 18-2 so far, they are definitely the team to beat as they extend their lead out to four full games ahead of everyone else. Anchor and Hall of Famer Seth Gunderson is having the best season of his career and has his mind set firmly on delivering a championship to his team this time around after falling just short last season. Did we mention that he also shot his all-time career series Tuesday night in the process? Yeah, he did.

Not too bad of a way to finish one's season, eh?

  • Awards Renamed in Honor of Hall of Famers, Others (Dec 3rd, 2013) -

  • All Hail the Chumps, er, Champs! (Nov 27th, 2013) - The Finals will simply be a formality next week as the men of Bowltron – Bryan Mohr, Rob Kaszuba, John Boren, and Ryan Doll – wrapped it all up Tuesday night to become the Fall 2013 champions. Will this trend of high scores continue? Only time will tell...

  • Things are Getting Tighter (Nov 12th, 2013) - Time is ticking away in the Fall 2013 season and there are now four teams in contention for the title. With the Finals a mere three weeks away, this session of GutterAlley action is still up for grabs amongst half the league. It's now just a question of who wants it the most.Week #13 tightened the distance between those teams with only two teams changing places at all. Check out the recap to see where everyone sits...

  • Chopping Away (Oct 30th, 2013) - The league continues to chop away at the lead that Bowltron has held on the league standings for quite some time, this week narrowing that gap to a mere three games. • Yabba Dabba Doo-ing Little (Sep 24th, 2013) - The midway point of the Fall 2013 season is quickly approaching and one team is trying to make a break for superiority amidst a league that has been underperforming since Week #1...

  • Back and Forth (Sep 17th, 2013) - Six teams moved places in the league standings, there were hardly any 200s, teams continue to bowl like crap but are still handed wins, and Grand Theft Auto 5 came out so this week's recap is pretty damn sparse.

  • Corporate Challenge? Owned. (Jun 15th, 2013) - Corporate Challenge took place on Saturday, June 15th with 11 members of our league showing up to our usual Tuesday haunt to not do battle for MVBs, #1 Power Rankings, or even money...but for medals. Collectively we walked away with ten of them.

  • Back in the Saddle Again (May 14th, 2013) - The Spring 2013 season came to an ending with Will Strike if Provoked sitting atop the league standings a full five games ahead of the rest of the competition after a survival of the fittest Finals showdown. Congratulations to returning league champions Dennis "Pops" Laube, Freda Schroeder, Phil Schroeder, and Aubrey Moren!

  • The Stage is All Set (May 7th, 2013) - The stage is all set for a Finals week showdown between the lone two contenders – Will Strike if Provoked and Dragon Balls. The winners of the Spring 2013 season will be crowned in a do-or-die matchup next week between these two teams with the Dragon Balls having absolutely no room for error. Four wins and the crown is theirs...one loss, and Will Strike if Provoked walks off with the title. It's gonna be a fun one...but, for now, let's see how everyone else did.

  • I'll Be Back? (Apr 30th, 2013) - Despite one team opting to post-bowl this week, the season has now come down to a potential Finals showdown between current league leaders Will Strike if Provoked and Dragon Balls. Low scores permeated the entire league, most of which could be blamed on the fact that the bowling alley's bar was deplete of beer. Oh the humanity...

  • Breaking Away? (Apr 23rd, 2013) - The Finals are three weeks away and one team has started to separate themselves from the rest of the pack with their eye on the title. While various scenarios are still possible, momentum seems to be on the side of the former championship team that last won it all just last Spring. Can they be stopped or are they simply breaking away? Also this week – a slumping vet turns his season around and earns #1 Power Ranked Bowler honors in the process, a quiet bowler puts on the first MVB performance of her career, and the league shatters the all-time record for most 200+ games in a single season. What a week!

  • The 11th Frame – Week 11, Spring 2013 (Apr 12th, 2013) -

  • All Knotted Up (Apr 9th, 2013) - After all was said and done this week in GutterAlley action, three teams found themselves sharing the best record in the league at 27-17. Let's go, then...

  • He’s Baaaaaaaaaaaack! (Mar 26th, 2013) - What do you get when you cross Steve Kiernan and a 2+ month absence from the bowling league? Why, a 700+ series...that's what! The impressive output from Steve keeps the team he subbed for firmly in first place while only one team in the league managed to find themselves upward bound in the first week of GutterAlley action after last week's position round. Ready to see how the rest of the league stacked up? Hop to it, then...

  • The More Things Change... (Mar 13th, 2013) - The league is almost officially half over now that everyone has done battle with one another. The position round comes our way next week but this week's matchup results brought something we haven't seen in quite some time – the top five spots in the league standings are separated by a mere two games. Ready to find out how this all went down? Check it out.

  • Birthday Beatdown (Mar 5th, 2013) - To celebrate Freda's birthday Tuesday evening, her team wanted to deliver a spanking to opponents and fellow league standing toppers Snakes on a Plane. By the end of the night, the team came through and Freda and crew now stand atop the charts all by themselves. Also around the league, Neil Rieger said goodbye to GutterAlley with a near perfect game while one team opted to post-bowl making it a later-than-usual week to provide the full update.Ready to see how things ended up? Step right in, then...

  • One Pin Ken (Feb 20th, 2013) - The record for the highest series ever thrown in GutterAlley's history has stood since Week 6 of the Spring 2008 session, when Don Glasscock put up a 770 series. While it still stands as the best, one lousy pin kept Ken M. Wilson from not only throwing a perfect game but also from creating a score that would have bested Don's series. Week #5 is now history...do you know where your favorite team stands?

  • The 11th Frame: Week 4, Spring 2013 (Feb 17th, 2013) -

  • Up, Up, and Away (Feb 12th, 2013) - Superman and Wonder Woman were in the building Tuesday night, on multiple lanes, as the league saw some huge output across the board. • Colossal Debuts (Jan 23rd, 2013) - The Spring 2013 season got underway Tuesday night and a good portion of the league forgot that you're not supposed to bowl lights out and set big averages on the first night. • You Can't Top FTOP (Dec 11th, 2012) - It took until the very last roll of their matchup, but a new championship team was crowned on Tuesday night as the Finals went down to conclude the Fall 2012 season of GutterAlley action...Congrats to John Boren, Cory Chorpenning, David Codding, and Ken M. Wilson!

  • Tentative Turkeys (Nov 20th, 2012) - Thanksgiving is just around the corner...and so are the Finals. One team has opted to post bowl this week so the true standings, MVB, #1 Power Ranked bowler, and Tournament of Champions results cannot be completely calculated just yet. Want to see what did transpire, though? You've come to the right place.

  • The Cream Rises (Sep 4th, 2012) - Highly volatile Week #2 reshuffled the league standings, putting six of the eight teams in a new spot. Two teams have already separated themselves from everyone else after amassing 7-1 records while four teams (yes, FOUR TEAMS!) share a record of 3-5. This season should prove to be a fun ride, as usual. Ready to see how everyone did? Of course you are...

  • The Big 5-0 (Apr 24th, 2012) - Before last night, only two teams in league history (one confirmed, one unconfirmed) had earned 50+ wins in a single season. • V for Victory (Apr 11th, 2012) -

  • Pole Position (Mar 6th, 2012) - Ahh, the position round...that time honored mid-season event that allows teams to either really put it to their closest competitors and climb the league standings. While one team continues to further extend their domination over the league, other teams in the middle tightened the distance between themselves and the teams just ahead of them. How did everyone do? You're just a click away.

  • Two Records in One (Feb 22nd, 2012) - Personal bests left and right – high games as well as high series. Scores big enough to earn spots on a number of Top 25 lists as well as one in the top five all-time records in league history. • The Big Finish (Dec 13th, 2011) - What a whirlwind finish to the Fall 2011 season – Ryan Doll shoots a 700+ series, 5 out of the eight teams swapped places in the league standings, and several people rolled their all time personal best games and series including this week's Most Valuable Bowler Eric Summers. Not a bad way to end it all, eh?

  • Futility for the Finals (Dec 6th, 2011) - Freda Schroeder, Phil Schroeder, Dennis "Pops" Laube, and Aubrey Moren finished what they set out to do this season – winning a championship. Besting all other teams en route to the season's best record, No Pinheads were crowned the Fall 2011 champions a full week before the Finals. How's that for a finish? As it turns out, every single team will face the team they faced this week in the Finals. Again, how's THAT for a finish? And, anyone have any idea why Pops looks like he's constipated in their championship photo to the left?

  • The Untouchables (Oct 5th, 2011) - Like several seasons before, No Pinheads has dominated the first half of the season. Will this be the season that they can keep up this pace and carry it all the way through the Finals? Seven other teams have plans to derail them on their quest.
