Look At Some Cute Things While Reading About Bowling

Posted by ScooterJ (online) November 9, 2016 Fall 2016, Week 12 View Score Sheets

Scoot tried several times last night to get this write-up going, and even had various sets of images already loaded up to go with a theme for either way the election went. But he just couldn't bring himself to do it, and decided that what this nation needs now more than anything else is a bowling recap to help us heal.

So, without further delay, let's look at some cute baby animals!

JV and Dennis C. take a break between games

They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder. But down on lanes 7 & 8, in the case of Terra Bowl, absence of half the team makes the other half grow stronger. Predicted to lose the series, both members of Terra Bowl did quite well and Ben Spencer's 401 series led his team to an even split. Meanwhile Carl Goetz topped Vote JV HoF 2016 with a powerful 687 series, but it wasn't enough to break the stalemate. Vote JV HoF 2016 remains in 1st place, while Terra Bowl remains in 7th.

Jeremy goofs off after the Jameson shots.

On lanes 9 & 10: Despite Ray & Stevie bringing in surprise sub Helen Keller, they were no match for O'Dell Lawn Service. (Who wasn't the last to finish this time!) Led by Aaron Barber and his 576 series, and assisted by trifecta-winner Scott Murdock (who suffered through 11 weeks of bowling his worst since 2003 before finally thinking this week to maybe try using a different ball), O'Dell Lawn Service secured a clean sweep. Ray & Stevie remains in 8th place, while O'Dell Lawn Service moves up 1 spot to 4th.

Landon has taken to bowling like a...

On lanes 11 & 12: the old-school half of Split It & Hit It did battle with W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E!. Led by Dennis Blake and his 506 series, the hapless season for Split It & Hit It continued to kick them in the gut with a sweep by W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E!. Landon Cline led the alphabet crew in their sweep with his 647 series. Split It & Hit It remains in 6th place, while W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E! remains in 2nd.

It is with some sadness that we now must announce that this will be the last we see of Dennis Blake and Russell Bingham this season. Both have unexpected new Tuesday evening commitments. Dennis will be paying out his season so his team can carry his average, while Russell will try to pre-bowl whenever possible.

Michael G. was too busy playing with his food to join us.

Finally, down on lanes 13 & 14: All of the data and the predictions called for a sweep by Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!, but like something else tonight that went exactly the opposite of what everyone expected, it was Stephen Hawking's Fight Club who ended up earning the sweep. Michael Mead led the Fight Club with a 533 series, while Aubrey Moren topped the 'Baggers with a 577. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! drops 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Stephen Hawking's Fight Club remains in 3rd.

This week in Tournament of Champions, Dustin Schemltz won Division 1 but has a lot of work to do to place. Nobody won Division 2, but Matt O'Dell made some progress up to the middle of the pack. Sean Miller took Division 3 and jumped into first place there, while Scott Murdock took Division 4 but isn't yet quite able to place.

Bowlers entering The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (220), Aubrey Moren (200), Carl Goetz (268,237), Dustin Schmeltz (219), John Boren (216), Jonathan Vigliaturo (208), Landon Cline (233,228), and Russell Bingham (224)

See you next week! Until then, here's a kid encountering a bowling ball painted to look like a soccer ball.
