Angela has unlocked the following Spring 2024 achievements...

A listing (from most current to furthest back) of any write-up posts in which Angela has been mentioned:
  • Spring 2020 Coronalicious Recap (May 4th, 2020) - Though we began this season right as the very first coronavirus quarantine went into place (in Wuhan), there were some other things that happened during our bowling season you probably forgot all about. Such as (in no particular order): League legend Pat Searcy passed after a 2-year battle with cancer. Donald Trump's impeachment trial. Wildfires in Australian. Mass anti-US protests in Iraq. Kobe Bryant died. Brexit. The brink of war with Iran. The Chiefs won the Superbowl. We had a parade.

  • A Glitch in the Matrix (Mar 10th, 2020) - The mid-season position round is over, so we're now officially halfway done. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (199) and series (478) for the women, while Demonic Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (249) and series (666) for the men. While first and last place remained unchanged, there was some light mixing throughout all the other positions. Of particular note, F. C. K. D. has pulled themselves out of the bottom half and finally achieved a winning record.

  • Repo Men (Mar 3rd, 2020) - So far this season, Scootylicious was the first team to take possession of First Place, and maintained its care for three weeks. Then last week they sold it to Pin Is King 3. But the King's coffers were empty and this week they defaulted on the loan, prompting the Bank of KLEAN BAWLZ!!1 to call in the loan and repossess the title.

  • The Cream Rises (Feb 25th, 2020) - The sixth week of Spring 2020 saw quite a bit of activity in the standings, as 7 of the 8 teams ended the night in a new position. And after a few weeks of Scootylicious domination, the two most likely contenders for the championship have finally floated to the top. One bowler rolled a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (190) and series (512) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (257) and series (677) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Updated - Week 3 RoboRecap (Feb 4th, 2020) - Post-bowling scores are in! The third week of Spring 2020 saw three teams climb in the standings. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 181, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 426. As for the men, Aaron Barber snagged this week's high game with a 243, and high series was earned by Nick Kinney with a 614. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Spring 2018 Recap (Jul 11th, 2018) -

  • Trading Places (Apr 10th, 2018) - The eleventh week of Spring 2018 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Back Half Blues (Mar 27th, 2018) - As we enter the back side of the season, we find the standings constipated with absolutely no movement. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game, and one of those two also set an inauspicious league record. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (224) and series (562) for the women, while Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (245) and series (638) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • It's Springtime! Why are we inside? (Mar 20th, 2018) - Upon closer observation of the actual lane oil patterns (left), it has been determined that only house balls will be allowed for the remainder of the season. In other news, a renowned scientist was brought in to study Mary Janes Last Frame's current slump, a birthday announcement was missed by Scoot, and the computer overlords have changed the outcome of a series. To find out more, read on!

  • Rolling Strong (Feb 6th, 2018) - Overall, this was the sixth hightest-rolliing week in league history. Two teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. As for the men, Michael Mead and Nick Kinney both tied for this week's high game with a 258, and high series was earned by Michael Mead with a 686. • Why Did Pocahontas Leave Her Hairpiece By The Campfire? (May 18th, 2016) - Tonight, on our last real night of bowling, we were joined by several new people that had never rolled in our league all season. It was the strangest thing, though... none of them were ever seen at the same time as Amber, Michelle S., Angela, Bob, Kody, or John Boren. Very! weird!

  • Escaping the Flood (Apr 26th, 2016) - Tonight bowling ended nearly half an hour earlier than usual, allowing everyone to get home without drowning or getting struck by lightning. Due to a combination of weather and Scoot being really tired, we'll be using the computer-generated writeup tonight. Sorry about that! :(

  • The 11th Frame -- Week 6, Spring 2016 (Mar 11th, 2016) -

  • Fallop Ian Squeezes Through a Small Lead (Feb 23rd, 2016) - Half of tonight's matchups saw underdogs come out on top, while the other half saw bullies beat up on their prey. Which way did each matchup go? Read on to find out.

  • Theory of Relativity Proven (Feb 16th, 2016) - Just days after the announcement that gravity waves were detected, another portion of Einstein's Theory of Relativity was proven tonight when the matchup that involved Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! finished in less time than any other matchup! Granted, they shed half of their mass in order do do it, but it's all part of the famous equation.

The full recap can be found inside...

  • Best. Series. Ever. (May 6th, 2014) - While the big story of the night should be that Pinterest wrapped up the Spring 2014 championship, their feat was overshadowed by the incredible output from Kody Karnes and his 773 series – the highest output by a bowler over the course of our 29 seasons. The previous record of Don Glasscock's 770 series has stood since the Spring 2008 season. • Goetz It Done (Mar 25th, 2014) - Pinterest continues to extend their lead in the league standings as they now sit a full eight games out from second place. It's going to take some serious competition to derail the most energetic team this season from their steam rolling to the championship crown. Ian Goetz narrowly missed putting up his first 700 series as the boys continue to destroy all who stand in their way. Week #9 action is now in the books...

  • Batting .857 (Mar 10th, 2014) - Not since the Fall '09 season has a team gotten off to such an incredible start to their season as Pinterest. Currently sitting with an 85.7% win percentage, the loudest and most fun team in the league is on the cusp of making history. They'll definitely set the tone next week in the position round. But, for now, let's see how everyone landed for next week's big showdown...

Putting together three consecutive 200+ games Tuesday night, Karnes rolled this season's fourth 700+ series – and the league's 21st – and raised his average to an even 200. Not too bad for a debut bowler. Curious how everyone else fared? Good...

  • Arkansas Ass Kickin' (Mar 19th, 2013) - Almost not showing this week, Bill Krejci – the anchor of the appropriately named Murder, He Wrote – arrived fashionably late to deliver an incredible performance in this season's position round to propel his team to a mere half-game out of first place. • One Pin Ken (Feb 20th, 2013) - The record for the highest series ever thrown in GutterAlley's history has stood since Week 6 of the Spring 2008 session, when Don Glasscock put up a 770 series. While it still stands as the best, one lousy pin kept Ken M. Wilson from not only throwing a perfect game but also from creating a score that would have bested Don's series. Week #5 is now history...do you know where your favorite team stands?

  • The 11th Frame: Week 4, Spring 2013 (Feb 17th, 2013) -

  • The 11th Frame: Week 3, Spring 2013 (Feb 7th, 2013) -

  • Fo'to Finish (Feb 5th, 2013) - So after three weeks of bowling, four teams – count 'em, 1-2-3-4 – all have the exact same record. Apparently 8-4 is what all the cool kids are amassing after nine games (and total pins) these days. Regardless, the perfect storm of outcomes came to life to create the four-way tie. Despite only three teams changing places, leads over other teams have been significantly diminished as only ten games separate all eight teams in the league. With 28 games still left to win, it's honestly anyone's title to take. Will your favorite team make the most of these next seven weeks?

Each now have a story of their own...

  • Every Pin Counts (Apr 3rd, 2012) - We've said it before and we'll say it again...every pin counts. With several games settled Tuesday night by the smallest of numbers – one even settled by a single pin – the smallest of missteps during the contest can come back to haunt you when all is said and done. Week 12 saw wins and losses settled in the 10th frame, big performances from some likely and unlikely sources, and next to no movement in the league standings. Ready to hear all about it? Let's get it on, then.

  • Gimme a T! (Feb 28th, 2012) - Simply put, Tuesday night belonged to Teresa Deterding of Splits or Swallows. • And Summer Break Begins... (May 24th, 2011) - The Spring 2011 season is now officially over and with it came the Fun Night complete with the prize fund payouts, season favorite award winners and the induction of the first four bowlers into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame. The next season of the league will start up in late August for those of you interested.Ready for all the details from the Fun Night? Well let's go...

  • Hard Fought Finals (May 17th, 2011) - The 23rd season of the VML Bowling League has come to a conclusion with S*I*C*K winning the top spot in the standings. The outcome from the Finals was very much lop-sided with only half of the league coming up with wins as four – count 'em, FOUR! – sweeps were dished out on the last night of league bowling. Talk about a big finish.Ready to find out how your favorite team performed? Let's go.

  • Analysis: Season Favorites (May 17th, 2011) -

  • Introducing the Hall of Famers (May 15th, 2011) - With bowlers throughout the league's entire history casting their votes over the past two months, the members of the GutterAlley's Hall of Fame inaugural class have been selected. Congratulations to Angela Bradford, Scott Murdock, Freda Schroeder and Ken M. Wilson on their upcoming inductions.

  • Get 'er Done (May 10th, 2011) - A western-theme washed over Week 15 as the bowlers of GutterAlley showed up to find the NKC Pro-Bowl packed with hundreds of cowboys and cowgirls enjoying a company party. This merely set the stage as the shootouts began to gain some ground in the last week of regular season bowling before the Finals next week. While no teams actually exchanged places in the league standings, ground was gained by several teams in preparation for the last week to earn more money in the prize fund envelopes.

  • Hangin' Tough (Apr 26th, 2011) - Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...Dolls and Balls. With the team firing on all four cylinders after a season of ups and downs, Dolls and Balls looks poised to be the team to beat at the moment. While the rest of the league knocks around – albeit with league leaders S*I*C*K still adding more wins to their record each week – Dolls and Balls stands on the brink of taking over first place if they can continue their momentum heading into the last few weeks before the Finals. These last few weeks could create quite a bit of drama...

  • Big Games, Big Wins (Apr 19th, 2011) - Something was definitely in the water (or beer) during Week 12 as numerous big games came out of seemingly nowhere to bring about some much needed victories. With the Finals less than a month away, it's now or never if teams are going to propel themselves higher up in the standings en route to the title. Heeding that call, several teams rose to the occasion and added more notches in their win columns against some pretty tough competition. S*I*C*K continues to lead all teams, but is their time at the top coming to an end? We'll certainly know here in the next couple of weeks...

  • Compromising Position Round (Mar 22nd, 2011) - The position round is now in the history books and with it came quite the reshuffling of the teams in the league standings. Six of the eight teams swapped places after all was said and done. Pretty impressive, eh? Once again we find the standings tightening up.Find out where your favorite team now sits by reading this week's write-up.

  • New Feature: The Hall of Fame (Mar 22nd, 2011) -

  • Dedication, Devotion...and Destruction (Mar 8th, 2011) - With the position round just two weeks away, teams are slowly gravitating towards their standings opponents in what should be a do or die rolloff week on March 22nd. For now, Week #6 managed to keep everyone in their current spots with two exceptions as No Pinheads bunny hopped SucmaBOWLS. Not complacent with the status quo, the league was treated to a nice showing of dedication from Dolls and Balls' anchor Ryan Doll who despite having recently had surgery performed on his bowling arm showed up to keep his team from forfeiting and rolled with his opposite hand to keep his team in the running. Ready to see how everyone did as the first half of the season nears its end?

  • Chip Off the Old Block (Feb 22nd, 2011) - We're now a month into the league and the league standings are offering up some surprises. While S*I*C*K continues to distance themselves from everyone else, there's been quite the shakeup in the teams in the 2nd through 4th place spots. Several powerhouse teams continue to struggle while other teams savor the sweet nectar of victory at their expense. This week's breakout performance easily goes to Ian Goetz, pictured to the left. Rolling his all-time personal best game and series, Goetz one-upped his father and teammate Carl for the first time all season. Good rolling definitely runs in the family.Ready to see how everyone did?

  • Let Them Eat Pins (Feb 15th, 2011) - The league's third week is now in the books and with it comes half the teams possessing a winning record, providing our first glimpse at true diversity in the standings. While the two teams that met in the Finals two seasons ago continue to remain at the top, Eat Split and DI made quite an impressive leap up into 3rd place after routing No Pinheads Tuesday night behind a great performance from this week's Most Valuable Bowler, AJ Hofmann.Ready to find out how everyone did? Well, let's dive in...

  • WIN-ter Wonderland (Feb 8th, 2011) - While even more snow fell onto the Greater Kansas City area, the rollers of the VML Bowling League were making pins fall as Week #2 got underway. No one made more pin topple Tuesday than Carl Goetz, pictured on the left. After all was said and done, the same two teams remain tied atop the league standings while the rest of the league tightened up enough where 1.5 games separate 3rd through 8th place.Ready to find out how your favorite teams performed? Let's go, then...

  • The Race Begins (Jan 25th, 2011) - With eight teams in the race to win the Spring 2011 championship, the battles are underway with two teams coming away with a perfect 4-0 start. Along with that, we've already witnessed the first tie of the season with two teams experiencing gridlock in their very first game of their matchup. Who knows what other mishaps will take place over the next 4+ months but all we know is that the 23rd season is underway and we're glad to be back.

  • Time to Pick Teams (Jan 11th, 2011) - Two weeks from today, the next session of the VML Bowling League starts up. With that looming on the horizon, 'tis time to pick teams.Want to find out which teams are already fully-formed? Well, check it out...

  • It's 2011: Open Recruitment! (Jan 3rd, 2011) - The 2011 Spring league is now forming. We're aiming to have a full 40-person roster and spaces are filling up rather nicely in order to meet our goal. We still need some more people, though. The next session begins on Tuesday, January 25th at the NKC Pro Bowl in North Kansas City, Missouri. Are you interested in bowling? If so, please let us know.
