A listing (from most current to furthest back) of any write-up posts in which Scott has been mentioned:
- Week 12 Brought Some Surprises! (Apr 22nd, 2025) - The twelfth week of Spring 2025 was anything but business as usual. With the rest of the standings seemingly immobile, the bottom two teas traded places once again. JoAnne Barber claimed this week’s high game (153) and series (373) for the women, while Nick Kinney dominated for the men with a ferocious 210 game and a blazing 577 series. But before the first frame even began, the crowd had something extra to cheer about...
The alley was graced by a surprise visit from some league royalty: Angela Bradford, Bill Krejci, Bob Brunker, and Deena Slinkard! Angela and Bob, founding members from the league’s humble 1999 beginnings, were last regular bowlers in the Covid season, though Bob also subbed during the league’s first season here at St. John’s. Bill and Deena, staples since Fall 2000, haven’t rolled since Spring 2014 and 2009 respectively—but Bill picked up a ball once again as a sub tonight while Deena, Angela, and Bob heckled with the finesse of seasoned pros from the bar.
- This Week Goes to Eleven. (Apr 15th, 2025) - The eleventh week of Spring 2025 thundered through the lanes like a poorly-timed ball slamming into the pinsetter, though the only change in the standings was a flip of 5th & 6th place. Wifi being down led to Jeremy Varnell ripping off his shirt to offer his back as a writing surface for keeping scores, but fortunately (despite the generous and much-appreciated offer) by the end of the first frame Scoot was finally able to find a spot to place his phone where it got good cell signal and could serve wifi to the scoreboards and all the tablets. JoAnne Barber dazzled with this week's high game (127) and series (363) for the women, while Nick Kinney lit up the alley with a monstrous 215 game and a 599 series to claim top honors for the men. But the real stories unfolded in the heat of the matchups—let’s roll into the details!
- Sub Crushed in Foul Mishap! - April 1 Recap (Apr 1st, 2025) - The ninth week of Spring 2025 league play came and went, but in a bizarre twist, absolutely nothing changed in the standings. Some say it was a statistical anomaly. Others suspect an elaborate prank. Either way, the scores were real—even if the sense of progress wasn’t. JoAnne Barber rolled the high game (155) and series (403) for the women, while for the men, AJ Hofmann and Matthew Taylor mysteriously tied for the high game (211), as if trying to trick us into seeing double. Meanwhile, Nick Kinney locked in the high series with a 561. Read on for the rest of the story!
- Spencer's Gifts (Mar 18th, 2025) - A nail-biting seventh week of Spring 2025 saw the standings frozen in place, but that didn’t mean the competition was anything less than electrifying. One bowler shattered their personal best, while others clawed for every pin in a battle of grit and determination. JoAnne Barber dominated the women’s lanes with a 132 high game and a 379 series, while Ben Spencer reigned supreme among the men with a jaw-dropping 266 high game and a 645 series.
- Spring 2025 Preview (Jan 22nd, 2025) -
