Getting half the league to swap places in the league standings every Tuesday night seems to quickly be on its way to becoming the norm. Week #4 brought a group of familiar faces back atop the league after a powerful performance from a man figuring out a new ball. While the overall league average is off this season (we're willing to blame it on the lack of beer being consumed due to cost increase – although sources inform us that the prices will be coming down next week across the board!), people continue to put up games well over their averages on their drive to add more notches in the win column. Here's how the matchups across the league went down...In the first matchup of the night, Ballz Out hoped to be batting .500 after tonight with their win-loss record but missed it by a single game as they faced opponents Even Brunker Than Defore. With Games #1 and #2 handily won by the Ballz, Even Brunker dug in their heels and mounted a comeback victory in Game #3 but couldn't overcome the total pins deficit. Ballz Out, led by anchor Cliff Barendsen and his 517 series, add their 3-1 matchup victory to their tally but remain in 6th place. Even Brunker Than Defore got the most firepower from their anchor Eric Lynch, who ended his night with a 448 series, and remain in 8th place. Last week, Bryan Mohr was the league's #1 Power Ranked bowler. This week, he did it all over again...but added Most Valuable Bowler honors to his accolades as well. With Mohr's stellar performance – accompanied by Bowltron's leading scorer John Boren and his 581 series – the guys proved that they are in it to win it. Thumping opponents Split It and Hit It in their 4-0 reclaiming of the top spot in the standings, Bowltron looks like the team to beat this season as their firepower is coming from all sides ('cept the anchors). Dennis Blake had the top series for Split It, ending his night with a 491, but just couldn't get the pins to go his way in the 10th frame showdown that could have netted them a Game #3 victory. Bowltron improves to the league's best record of 13-3 while Split It and Hit It remains in 4th place at 8-8.After last week's all-around stellar team performance by Bewbie Dance, the Gutterfingers figured that it was only fitting that they received a taste of their own medicine. In the biggest upset of the evening, Anita Osthoff and her 521 series led the Gutterfingers to a clean sweep of their opponents in games that were never really close. Osthoff, whose average continues to climb, is on pace to take over the top spot as the best female bowler in league history. Bewbie Dance, led by anchor Carl Goetz and his 526 series, hold steady in 3rd place. An interesting side note, Bewbie Dance has either swept or been swept every week this season so far. The Gutterfingers take their four wins and hop up two spots into 5th place. With the gang all together for the first time since the first week, Breaking Bad looked to finally get on track this season. Opponents Will Strike if Provoked had other plans. After ending their 7-game losing streak with an impressive Game #1 victory, led by anchor Ken M. Wilson's 648 series, it was all Will Strike after that. Behind leadoff bowler Phil Schroeder's 505 series, the reigning champions reversed their own course to take Game #2. Despite a desperate rally in Game #3 from Breaking Bad, Will Strike ignored it to easily take the final game in the contest, ending the night with a 3-1 matchup victory. Despite winning the majority of their games, Will Strike if Provoked slips one spot down into 2nd place. Breaking Bad, with their 6-10 record, plummet two spots down into 7th place. The initial night of competition within the Tournament of Champions got underway Tuesday. Starting off with the lead in Division 1 is Ken M. Wilson (6) with Ryan Doll (3) debuting in second. Anita Osthoff (6) powered her way to become the Division 2 leader with Cliff Barendsen (3) right behind her. Bryan Mohr (6) came out firing to lead Division 3 while Phil Schroeder (3) follows closely behind. Division 4 found Michael Smith (6) coming out on top with rookie Steven Kohlmeyer (3) starting his first ToC off in second. The handful of bowlers making it past security in The 200 Club this week include: Bill Krejci (254, 200), Cliff Barendsen (202), Ken M. Wilson (222, 225, 201), and Rob Kaszuba (208).Nominations for this season's Hall of Fame ballot are now open. Feel free to nominate as many of the 59 people eligible for induction as you'd like. The nominations form will remain open until the end of the position round (Week #8). Ken would especially appreciate it if you'd consider nominating Pat Searcy, who he feels should get your vote this season if he makes it onto the ballot.See you next Tuesday!

Week #3 is now in the history books and with it came some huge output across the lanes. With the post-bowling scores now in, the full recap of what went down across all four matchups can now be reported. In the first matchup of the night, both

Historically, Week #2 provides the wildest results as averages from the initial week are put to the test and those that did really well are battling themselves as well as their competitors. Those who didn't perform up to potential in their initial outing end up being the most dangerous to their opponents – which was the case this week for sure. To top off the most volatile week of the season, every single team shifted places in the league standings. Yes, you read that correctly – everyone moved. To start the evening off,

The Fall 2013 season kicked off Tuesday night, marking the 28th season of GutterAlley action. Thirty-two bowlers make up eight teams in this session and it's looking like it's going to be a battle every week. Despite the summer hiatus, many bowlers from last season picked right back up where they left off and carried on with their big scores. Buckle up, gang. This is going to be a fun season. In the first matchup of the night, last season's runner-up for the

With the summer drawing to a close it's time to make Tuesday nights fun again as the Fall 2013 season of GutterAlley action gets underway on Tuesday. This season will feature four new recruits making their debut this season! A special welcome to rookies

The Spring 2013 season came to a conclusion Tuesday night with league champions Will Strike if Provoked staving off a surging Dragons Balls in a Finals showdown. Congratulations to

With the closing of the Spring 2013 season, we've decided to expand the offering of our end of the league
While two teams opted to post bowl (leaving one bowler on each of team stranded to roll and give out air high fives after striking or sparing), the main matchup of the evening ended in what can officially be called a cliff hanger. On a night in which the championship could have been wrapped up, the race to the finish will truly take place next week in the Finals. We start off on lanes 41 & 42 where the two last place teams battled for... well... something. With the fashionably late

The full results from Week #14 are now in and, mathematically, only two teams can come away as the Spring 2013 champions...and, more than likely, will face one another the last two weeks of the season. Tuesday night will also be remembered as the week with stifling dry heat, no air conditioning, and no tap beer whatsoever. It was also the lowest scoring week of the entire season. Coincidence? We think not. Let's get into the gritty details...On the first pair of lanes, long time rivals – and current league leaders –

Week #13 is now in the history books and with it came a massive shuffling of the league standings. With the exception of the teams at the very top and the very bottom, all six teams from 2nd through 7th place swapped places with one another during the week that saw our league break

With only one month left in the league, it's really becoming do or die time. Week #12 was witness to some pretty stellar performances from unlikely sources, leading to five of the eight teams shifting positions within the league standings – three teams ascending with two descending. The Finals are quickly approaching and it's still almost anyone's to win. When

Now we've seen some tight seasons before in the past...and the 27th season of GutterAlley is definitely being added to that list. So far this season, four of the eight teams have held the 1st place position. Currently? Three teams now have a record of 27-17 and are all knotted up at the top of the league standings. This season, easily the highest rolling in league history, continues to break records on a number of fronts. With only five weeks until the Finals, we could be in for quite a finish. For the first time in quite a while, no one qualified as the

The midway point of the 27th season of GutterAlley action is now history and with it came some historical happenings. As a league we're still on pace to break the all-time 200+ games in a single season record, a mere five games separate the top six teams (all of which shifted in the standings Tuesday night), and the third highest series of all time was thrown. We can't say that this was a typical position round by any means. Ready to get into the details? Have at it...After suffering defeat at the hands of
Everyone has now bowled one another once and, with that, the 27th season of GutterAlley action has found itself knotted up in the league standings in one of the closest first halves we've had in quite some time. Heading into the position round next week, a mere two games separate the top five teams in the league. That's pretty close, folks. Ready to see how it all played out? Keep reading...Having finally broken free and taken over 1st place outright last week,
With the position round just right around the corner, Week #6 is usually a great time to make your move if you're looking to improve your station in the league standings. Several teams got the memo while others simply did not pay that close attention to it. Now that the post-bowling has been taken care of, we can get into the full story. With one of their own out for the night,
