  • The Sorta Easter-ish Episode (Mar 26th, 2024) - A stagnated 10th week of Spring 2024 resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings, though the gap between first and second place widened. In her Easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it, JoAnne Barber was the grandest lady with a high game (157) and series (372). As for the men, AJ Hofmann nailed this week's high game with a 201, and the high series of 544 was nestled in the grass of Dennis Walling's Easter basket. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • An Electric Season Midpoint (Mar 12th, 2024) - As we roll into the midpoint of the Spring 2024 season, the stakes are higher than ever, with teams vying for a chance to seize the championship. The eighth week unfolded with the intensity of a a humping by Seth, though in the end the standings stood still. On the men's front, AJ Hofmann unleashed a striking performance with a powerful 214 for the high game, while Michael Gordon dominated the series with an impressive 553.

  • A Dark, Gloomy Night in the Gutter (Nov 7th, 2023) - The eleventh week of Fall 2023, the first bowling session after the time change, was just another reminder of how early it gets dark outside. It left me feeling as gloomy as the skies. I guess some teams climbed and others slipped, but who really cares when it's this dark and depressing outside? JoAnne Barber rolled her usual high game (157) and series (398) for the woman, which is nice, I guess. For the men, Matthew Taylor snagged a high game with a 208, and Nick Kinney got the high series with a 570. Yippee. Now, let's delve into the exciting world of bowling on these gloomy lanes, shall we?

  • Cox: "Suckers!" (Sep 19th, 2023) - The fourth week of Fall 2023 brought thunderous applause and roaring excitement to the bowling lanes, with strikes and spares painting the alley in vibrant hues of victory and camaraderie. While some teams soared to new heights, others grappled with the challenge of maintaining their positions. It was a night of personal bests, thrilling showdowns, and unforgettable moments. In the realm of fierce competition, JoAnne Barber emerged as the undisputed queen of the evening, leaving everyone in awe with her remarkable performance. With grace and precision, she defied all odds and claimed the crown for the highest game (133) and series (365) among the women bowlers. It wasn't just a victory; it was a masterclass in bowling finesse that left spectators in awe. And let's not forget the countless women JoAnne had to out-bowl to secure her titleā€”a true testament to her prowess! Speaking of remarkable achievements, Seth Gunderson proved that the lanes were his canvas, and he was the artist creating a masterpiece. With a colossal high game of 242 and an astonishing series of 562, Seth was a force to be reckoned with among the bowlers with 5 appendages. His performance was nothing short of a bowling symphony, leaving the pins trembling in his wake. As the lanes sizzled with action, the stage was set for the Tournament of Champions, a thrilling extravaganza that promises 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling battles. It's a journey that promises to test the mettle of every bowler and leave the spectators (aka Kenny, Joe, Nick, and Ron) on the edge of their seats.

But, because of the way a 16-week schedule works with 6 teams, there will be no position rounds until the final week to allow every team ro bowl every other team an equal number of times. This week was full of clean sweeps, lots of 200s, and much improved scores across the board as we acclimate to our new surroundings. Two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. • Almost done! (Aug 4th, 2021) - While the standings still to unchanged in terms of team ranks, the number of possible outcomes for next week's championships has. Team 1 & Scoot's Fault are now the only two teams with a shot at the Championship, and the only hope Scoot's Fault actually has is to either sweep or win three to force a tiebreaker game. Meanwhile, though mathematically eliminated from the Championship, Team 2 has a reasonable shot at overtaking Scoot's Fault and moving into 2nd place. • Emergency Relocation Saves the Championship! (May 18th, 2021) - With the sudden sale and closure of AMF Pro Bowl Lanes just three days before our final session of bowling, we were unsure if we'd be able to finish things up properly or just call it where we stood. Luckily for the team that ended up securing the championship last night, Gladstone Bowl helped us out by offering us four lanes to use so we could finish our season! It wasn't ideal squeezing 6 teams onto 4 lanes and maybe wasn't technically legal by USBC standards since the 3rd & 4th place teams bowled on separate sets of lanes, but thanks to Gladstone's help we were able to make the best of a bad situation. And with the top 4 teams all having a realistic shot at the title, it was a championship worth fighting for! JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (146) and series (413) for the woman, while, Aaron Barber snagged this week's high game for the men with a 225, and men's high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 607. • Musical Chairs (Mar 31st, 2021) - After some false starts and lots of lane shuffling (first due to this week accidentally not flagged as a position round in the computer, then by the fact that we had been shifted 4 lanes to the left leading to the wrong set of lanes getting reset) the Spring 2021 position round finally got underway, resulting in changes only near the middle of the standings. As always seems to be the case, JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (156) and series (421) for the woman. As for the men, Michael Gordon snagged this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Aaron Barber with a 595. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Welcome (to 1st), Groupies! (Mar 2nd, 2021) - The second week of Spring 2021 saw two teams climb in the standings, with one sliding into first place by total pins. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (129) and series (356) for the woman. As for the men, Michael Gordon snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 591. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • An Extremely Late Fall 2020 Recap (Dec 31st, 2020) - This has been a really busy last several weeks so I apologize that it has take SO LONG to get this out. Here is an abbreviated Fall 2020 Recap, where you can find out who won all the individual awards that we didn't collect prize money for but they still at least matter for bragging rights.

  • LeTits Now Champs (Nov 4th, 2020) - The Fall 2020 season came to a close today, with absolutely no movement in the standings as LETITSNOW held on to their season-long first place lead to clinch the championship. But elsewhere in the league James Tott snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Dennis Walling with a 612. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Spencer For Hire (Oct 28th, 2020) - Ben Spencer is on fire, and apparently also for hire. After two weeks of some of his best bowling ever, Ben is now already fielding offers for next season. And that's no surprise after he quadfectaed this week by earning Most Valuable Bowler, #1 Power Ranked Bowler, and #1 Head-to-Head Bowler, as well as winning his division in the Tournament of Champions. Elsewhere, JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (168) and series (388) for the woman. As for the men, Michael Gordon snagged this week's high game with a 237, and high series was earned by Ben Spencer with a 652. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Worst Psychic Ever (Oct 13th, 2020) - The first night of the second half of the season is off to an inauspicious start by our Predictions engine, which completely botched its forecast for tonight. Pretty much the only thing it got right was that JoAnne Barber would picked up this week's high game (141) and series (405) for the woman. As for the men, Dennis Walling snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Curtis Whiles with a definitely-not-predicted 600. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Tuesdays Are 37.5% Normal Again (Sep 16th, 2020) - With the bowling alley resuming regular hours this week, the Fall 2020 Mini Season is finally underway. Four teams have entered the 8-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy, as well as the equally-nonexistent cash awards since we have decided to forgo those for such a small group. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (130) and series (340) for the women woman. As for the men, Dennis Walling snagged this week's high game with a 248, and high series was earned by Michael Gordon with a 633. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Repo Men (Mar 3rd, 2020) - So far this season, Scootylicious was the first team to take possession of First Place, and maintained its care for three weeks. Then last week they sold it to Pin Is King 3. But the King's coffers were empty and this week they defaulted on the loan, prompting the Bank of KLEAN BAWLZ!!1 to call in the loan and repossess the title.

  • (Pin Is) King Not Crowned (Feb 18th, 2020) - The fifth week of Spring 2020 should have seen a new first place leader emerge, but that failed to happen. However just one other team did manage quite a climb in the standings. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (153) and series (406) for the women, while for the men Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 279, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 634. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Triple Threat (Jan 28th, 2020) - here's really nothing special about having a multi-team tie for 1st place in the second week of the season, I just couldn't think of any particular fitting title for this week. And because describing this type of tie using normal lingo (a number followed by the word "way") attracts PornBots, we'll just refer to it as a First Place Trifecta. The elements going into this scenario include Carolina Mach (again) picking up this week's high game (147) and series (389) for the women, Ben Spencer snagging this week's high game for the men with a new personal best 240, and Aaron Barber landing high series with a 603. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Carolina's Roller Coaster (Jan 21st, 2020) - The Spring 2020 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Carolina Mach had a roller coaster of a night, picking up this week's high game (215) and series (416) for the women. This knocks Kathy Smith out of the 5th place for women's high page, after holding a position in the top 5 for nearly 20 years. More on that below. Meanwhile Seth Gunderson earned this week's high game (254) and series (626) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Fall 2019 Recap (Jan 4th, 2020) -

  • The End of an Era (Dec 4th, 2019) - As our 20th year of bowling came to a close and we prepare to embark on our next 20 years, the bowling alley echoed the moment by ripping out the ball returns and scoring consoles we've been kicking/using since our formation and replaced them with spiffy new ones have no idea the abuse they will soon endure. Despite the myriad of exceptions they annoying quizzed Scoot on last night, See you next Tuesday! remains the championship team so now gets to perform next week's awards presentation, which according to league rules must be done in the form of a musical every 40th season. Next week we meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. The final week saw not even one full-time VML bowler show up to bowl, and only one team move up in the standings. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (168) and series (445) for the women. As for the men, Dennis Walling snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Ian Goetz with a 624. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • When A Ball Loves A Rack (of Pins) (Oct 29th, 2019) - The eleventh week of Fall 2019 saw the second known marriage of two league bowlers (the first being Derek Jeter and Amanda Cox-Jeter sometime back in the W Bush era). It also saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (186) and series (470) for the women. As for the men, Ian Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 223, and high series was earned by Ken M. Wilson with a 614. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Happy Piniversary! (Oct 22nd, 2019) - As our league offocially celebrated its 20th birthday, some sort of malaise of old age set in. Apart from a few bright spots, rolling this week was so lackluster than not only did no one earn Most Valuable Bowler, nobody even qualified to be a runner-up! Through the mediocirty two teams did manage to climb in the standings, to the detriment of the two teams that slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (159) and series (433) for the women. As for the men, Dennis Walling snagged this week's high game with a 256, and high series was earned by Seth Gunderson with a 583. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Schooled. (Oct 15th, 2019) - While the first session on the back half of this season only saw the two teams in the middle of the standings swap places, school was in session and it resulted in the gap widening considerably between the only three teams with winning records. The ninth week of Fall 2019 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (160) and series (455) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (226) and series (604) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • There's Some Goetz Brewing (Sep 25th, 2019) - A stagnated sixth week of Fall 2019 resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Alison Radke picked up this week's high game (122) and series (314) for the women. As for the men, Ian Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 287, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 706. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Week 3 Late Breaking News (Sep 10th, 2019) -

  • Let Chaos Reign (Apr 2nd, 2019) - By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2019 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The eleventh week saw four teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (175) and series (442) for the women. As for the men, Jonathan Vigliaturo and Ken M. Wilson both tied for this week's high game with a 237, and high series was earned by Aaron Barber with a 663. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Screwball Season Getting Screwier (Mar 19th, 2019) - This season has seen its share of weirdness -- due both to the number of teams and two both really high and really low games coming from unexpected places. This week was no exception. But next week it will get even weirder.

  • Big Ball Chantal (Mar 12th, 2019) - Many times throughout our history bowlers have bought a new ball and seen immediate improvement in their game. But never before have we seen this happen as dramatically as it did last night with Chantal's new ball. Overall, two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Chantal Jacot picked up this week's high game (208) and series (471) for the women, while Dennis Walling earned this week's high game (245) and series (634) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • EIGHT-BALLED UPSET!!!!! (Dec 4th, 2018) - The Fall 2018 season draws to a close, with 8 Balls officially earning this season's championship title! But we aren't quite finished yet -- next week we will meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. The final week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (191) and series (451) for the women. As for the men, Michael Gordon and Russell Bingham both tied for this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Russell Bingham with a 605. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Almost A Clean Sweep (Nov 13th, 2018) - This topsy-turvy season continues to get screwier and screwier, as four sweeps and a near sweep continued to stir up the standings. Once in 7th place, BDE this week pulled ahead of the two-time defending champions and found themselves tied for third place. Meanwhile rookie team Teeby Dee, who spent most of the season lingering near the bottom of the standings, suddenly finds a winning record within quick reach and is still mathematically a contender for the trophy. These two teams face each other next week, so this will be the game to watch as the outcome could be BDE moving cleanly into third place or TBD attaining a positive win record.

  • The Voter Rolls (Nov 6th, 2018) - Last night, based on exit polling plus early returns, Bowling News Network (BNN) called first place for Serious Bowlers. Boy, are we red-faced about that one. We haven't missed a call that badly since we projected Hiillary Clinton the Tournament of Champions winner in Fall 2016! The twelfth week of Fall 2018 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (172) and series (493) for the women. As for the men, Seth Gunderson snagged this week's high game with a 233, and high series was earned by Aubrey Moren with a 565. Read on for all the rest of the details!

Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (206) and series (515) for the women, while Dennis Walling earned this week's high game (233) and series (622) for the men. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Spring 2018 Recap (Jul 11th, 2018) -

  • That's A Wrap (May 15th, 2018) - The Spring 2018 season draws to a close, with WITNESS!!! officially earning this season's championship title! But we aren't quite finished yet -- next week we will meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. The final week saw three teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (167) and series (475) for the women, while Dennis Walling earned this week's high game (235) and series (660) for the men. • A Third Three Hundred! (Apr 24th, 2018) - While the standings didn't change at all tonight, quite a lot actually happened. Before we get into the big story of the night, we will take a moment to remember some of the other people who accomplished things tonight. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (188) and series (474) for the women. As for the men, Dennis Walling snagged this week's high game with a score that we'll get to in a moment. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (224) and series (562) for the women, while Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (245) and series (638) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • It's Springtime! Why are we inside? (Mar 20th, 2018) - Upon closer observation of the actual lane oil patterns (left), it has been determined that only house balls will be allowed for the remainder of the season. In other news, a renowned scientist was brought in to study Mary Janes Last Frame's current slump, a birthday announcement was missed by Scoot, and the computer overlords have changed the outcome of a series. To find out more, read on!

  • Humbowl Missing. Walling Injured. These Stories and more, tonight on Eye WITNESS!!! News (Mar 13th, 2018) - By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2018 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. One of the teams that climbed, defending champions WITNESS!!!, has reclaimed a razor-thin first-place standing. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (231) and series (540) for the women, while Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (234) and series (685) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • 2018 Is Underway (Jan 23rd, 2018) - Spring 2018 began tonight with a welcome to a few new bowlers, a defending champion team that is going to have to fend off multiple challengers, and several bowlers who forgot they were supposed to sandbag. Consequently, two bowlers set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games.

  • Fall 2017 Recap (Dec 13th, 2017) - 36 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while we didn't set much in the way of records, having 10 teams brought us some new twists and turns and the largest pool of prize money (just shy of $2200) we have seen in quite some time!

  • Another Season, Another Upset (Dec 5th, 2017) - For the second season in a row, a second place team made a shocking comeback at the last possible moment to steal the championship from the expected winner. And, the common element in both comebacks is Aaron Barber. Is he a good luck charm that teams will fight to recruit in the off-season?

  • Break Out The Scissors! (Oct 10th, 2017) - It's been a while since we've had to cut the scoresheets in half due to a printing error. But it's also been a while since we've had 10 teams and week 8 wasn't the position round. So how did everything shake out after tonight's massive cut-and-paste job?

  • Get Your Bowling Shoes On! (Aug 13th, 2017) -

  • Spring 2017 Recap (May 19th, 2017) - 35 seasons of bowling are now behind us, and while this season may not have set a lot of records, it still has a few firsts and a lot of fun moments. And the surprise come-from-behind championship win by Omaha Hambone marks the first title win in quite some time that didn't come from ne of the long-time dynasties.

  • Can the Dark Horse Still Win? (May 2nd, 2017) - Probably not. :) Tonight was the last night of regular-season bowling, and next week decides it all! As is stands now, Omaha Hambone would have to sweep and then win the roll-off in order to defeat the perennial champs. However, Hambone is currently 4-4 against the Uncles, only won one game when they last faced each other, and last enjoyed a sweep 4 weeks ago. Sure, they may pull off a huge upset, but it's looking quite unlikely. How did it come to this?

  • Tightening the Grip (Apr 25th, 2017) - Next week is the last week of regular season bowling, and after a season that at first seemed to be heading toward finally letting someone else win for a change, it appears the dark overlords are getting a tighter grasp on yet another victory. Just two weeks left for any of the remaining competition to make a play!

  • Another RoboWriteup :( (Apr 18th, 2017) - Sorry, folks. Scoot only got 3 hours of sleep last night, so we have to do another computer-generated writeupo this week. :( Sorry about that!

  • Mopping It Up (Apr 12th, 2017) - Tonight was a night of almost all sweeps, and saw a formerly near-last-place team barrel its way into the top half of the standings. Meanwhile the formerly first-place team became increasingly frustrated with their inability to regain the lead and it cost them their most precious commodity.

  • The RoboWriteup (Apr 5th, 2017) - Scoot had a lot he needed to do tonight and didn't have time to write a recap, so this week's update is the automated, computer-generated version. Sorry about that!

  • The Uncles Wiggled Back Up (Mar 28th, 2017) - Last week left things with the top three teams only one game apart. Now they are three games apart and a new leader has emerged.
