(Pin Is) King Not Crowned

Posted by BowlingBot February 18, 2020 Spring 2020, Week 5 View Score Sheets

The fifth week of Spring 2020 should have seen a new first place leader emerge, but that failed to happen. However just one other team did manage quite a climb in the standings. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (153) and series (406) for the women, while for the men Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 279, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 634. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: We found a group of people who F. C. K. D.around with their KLEAN BAWLZ!!1 for a couple of hours. Although led by Carl Goetz with his above-average 634 series, The FCKD accomplished only 1 win against BAWLZ. Countering this, #1 Power-Ranked Seth Gunderson and his better-than-normal 615 series emboldened BAWLZ as his team took the match with 3 wins. F. C. K. D. remains in 7th place, while BAWLZ remains in 3rd.

On lanes 3 & 4: In a fairly closely-matched lineup Big Bowl Movements found their progress in the standings constipated and it was all AJ's Fault. Charging into the fray behind Most Valuable Bowler James Tott and his above-average 446 series, AJ's Fault split the series with Movements. Simultaneously, Adam Scherzer with his 408 series provided a bit of fiber for the Movements as they matched their opponent in wins. AJ's Fault remains in 6th place, while Movements remain in 4th.

On lanes 5 & 6: With closely-matched team strength, Low Expectations accepted a challenge by Whiles We Were Bowling.... Despite the strength of Stu Marthers with his above-average 525 series, Expectations got swept by Whiles Bowling. In the meantime, Bob Brunker with his 533 series showed off for Whiles as they swept the competition. Low Expectations plummets 3 spots in the standings to 8th place, while Whiles Bowling jumps 3 spots to 5th.

I now pass first place to you.... JUST KIDDING!

Finally, down on lanes 7 & 8: Scootylicious couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Pin Is King 3. In spite of the prowess of Jeremy Cline with his above-average 623 series, 'Licious accomplished only 1 win against Kings. However, that win was all they needed to continue their hold on first place. #1 Head-to-Head Dennis Walling and his better-than-normal 602 series reigned supreme within Kings as his team took the match with 3 wins, making them the first team to win a series against Scootylicious but failing to crown themselves as the new first place leaders. Scootylicious remains in 1st place, while Kings remain in 2nd.

Bowlers who crashed the party at The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (212), Carl Goetz (247), Dennis Walling (205,204), Jeremy Cline (225,203), Ken M. Wilson (279), Michael Gordon (241), Seth Gunderson (246), and Stu Marthers (206)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz walloped Division 1, while Dennis Walling rolled his ass to the top of Division 2. Scott Murdock vanquished Division 3, and Tony Marin made quick work of Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz reigns over Division 1; Dennis Walling leads Division 2; Scott Murdock is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Jake Holterman holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 2nd-place Pin Is King 3 will spend some quality time with 8th-place Low Expectations (hcp 140). Kings are expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while Expectations are forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 5th-place Whiles We Were Bowling... will challenge 1st-place Scootylicious (hcp 8). Whiles Bowling might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while 'Licious ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 5&6, 6th-place AJ's Fault (hcp 122) will face 3rd-place KLEAN BAWLZ!!1. AJ's Fault will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while BAWLZ will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 7&8, 4th-place Big Bowl Movements (hcp 131) will chuck some balls with 7th-place F. C. K. D.. Movements are predicted to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while The FCKD is anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
