Back To Just Shitty Enough

Posted by ScooterJ February 28, 2023 Spring 2023, Week 6 View Score Sheets

After a shocking defeat last week, Just Shitty Enough earned tonight's only sweep and regained their hold on first place. In what's starting to seem like a pattern, JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (125) and series (344) for the woman, while Nick Kinney earned this week's high game (230) and series (612) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: In a rather lopsided matchup, the big bullies of Sun Dolphins decided to beat up on the lone present member of Balderdash. The jerks! Regardless of the power of an abandoned Dennis Walling with his below-average 432 series, Bald Boys accomplished only 1 win against Dolphins. Across the ball return, Scott Thompson with his shocking 483 series motivated Dolphins as his team took the match with 3 wins. Balderdash remains in 5th place, while Dolphins more than doubled their win count yet remain in 6th.

week6On lanes 3 & 4: A heavily sub-ified Let's Split Up Gang! had a rendezvous with Glory Bowl. Reinforced by #1 Power-Ranked sub (and hopefully future regular member) Chris Lenz and his magnificent 533 series, the splitter-uppers collected 3 wins against the G-Holers. Meanwhile Brett Affolter with his better-than-normal 568 series took charge of the G-Holes despite his team notching only a single win. Let's Split Up Gang! climbs 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while the G-Holers sink 1 spot to 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: Seeking a return to the top after last week's upset, Just Shitty Enough took their vengeance out on I Thought This Was AA? even though AA didn't even do anything to them last week. Charging into the fray behind Nick Kinney with his 612 series, along with a major contribution by #1 Head-to-Head and Most Valuable Bowler Carl Goetz, Just Shitty locked up a clean sweep over the bowlaholics. On the adjacent lane, Nathan Burrows with his better-than-normal 457 series showed off for the bowlaholics despite his team getting swept. Just Shitty Enough climbs 1 spot in the standings to 1st place, while the bowlaholics sink 1 spot to 4th.

Bowlers bribing their way into The 200 Club include: Brett Affolter (209,215), Carl Goetz (211), Chris Lenz (223), Kent Harms (222), and Nick Kinney (230,213)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz vanquished Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 2 as it was a complete embarassment. Scott Thompson spanked Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 4 as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Matthew Taylor calls the shots Division 1; Brett Affolter tops Division 2; Nathan Burrows holds the reins in Division 3; and Jim Koger dominates Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 2nd-place Glory Bowl will compete against 4th-place I Thought This Was AA? (hcp 32). The G-Holers are expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the bowlaholics are forecast to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 1st-place Just Shitty Enough will face 6th-place Sun Dolphins (hcp 176). Just Shitty might perform well and sweep the series; while Dolphins ought to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 5th-place Balderdash will spend some quality time with 3rd-place Let's Split Up Gang! (hcp 64). Bald Boys are predicted to have a bit of an off night and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the splitter-uppers are anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
