A listing (from most current to furthest back) of any write-up posts in which Curtis has been mentioned:
  • Spring 2020 Coronalicious Recap (May 4th, 2020) - Though we began this season right as the very first coronavirus quarantine went into place (in Wuhan), there were some other things that happened during our bowling season you probably forgot all about. Such as (in no particular order): League legend Pat Searcy passed after a 2-year battle with cancer. Donald Trump's impeachment trial. Wildfires in Australian. Mass anti-US protests in Iraq. Kobe Bryant died. Brexit. The brink of war with Iran. The Chiefs won the Superbowl. We had a parade.

  • Carolina's Roller Coaster (Jan 21st, 2020) - The Spring 2020 season is now underway, with eight teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Carolina Mach had a roller coaster of a night, picking up this week's high game (215) and series (416) for the women. This knocks Kathy Smith out of the 5th place for women's high page, after holding a position in the top 5 for nearly 20 years. More on that below. Meanwhile Seth Gunderson earned this week's high game (254) and series (626) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Fall 2019 Recap (Jan 4th, 2020) -

  • They're Back! (Nov 27th, 2019) - Despite it not being the most likely of the three possible outcomes tonight, See you next Tuesday! managed to clinch the championship a week early! Though it's been a few seasons since we last saw them on top, this makes the third title for this specific team. This is also the third title for Nick Kinney, the fourth for Aaron Barber, the seventh for Jonathan Vigliaturo, and then... twelfth... for Seth Gunderson. Congrats, guys!

  • Sweepage! (Nov 19th, 2019) - As the Fall 2019 season draws closer to its conclusion, a bowling session that went almost exactly as predicted saw four sets of sweeps that led to... no change in the standings except for a flip of the bottom two positions. However, three bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 151, and women's high series was bagged by Alison Radke with a 402. As for the men, Ben Spencer snagged this week's high game with a 235, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 637. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Just Peachy (Nov 12th, 2019) - Everything is just peachy!

  • Keeping It Brief (Nov 6th, 2019) - (Scoot here... I'm taking care of a dog that just came home from surgery while also trying to get some yard work done during this window of good weather, so I'm keeping this writeup short by mostly leaving it as what the bot generated.)
The twelfth week of Fall 2019 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Alison Radke picked up this week's high game (167) and series (424) for the women, while Michael Gordon earned this week's high game (242) and series (674) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • When A Ball Loves A Rack (of Pins) (Oct 29th, 2019) - The eleventh week of Fall 2019 saw the second known marriage of two league bowlers (the first being Derek Jeter and Amanda Cox-Jeter sometime back in the W Bush era). It also saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (186) and series (470) for the women. As for the men, Ian Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 223, and high series was earned by Ken M. Wilson with a 614. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Happy Piniversary! (Oct 22nd, 2019) - As our league offocially celebrated its 20th birthday, some sort of malaise of old age set in. Apart from a few bright spots, rolling this week was so lackluster than not only did no one earn Most Valuable Bowler, nobody even qualified to be a runner-up! Through the mediocirty two teams did manage to climb in the standings, to the detriment of the two teams that slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (159) and series (433) for the women. As for the men, Dennis Walling snagged this week's high game with a 256, and high series was earned by Seth Gunderson with a 583. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Schooled. (Oct 15th, 2019) - While the first session on the back half of this season only saw the two teams in the middle of the standings swap places, school was in session and it resulted in the gap widening considerably between the only three teams with winning records. The ninth week of Fall 2019 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (160) and series (455) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (226) and series (604) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Dead Wood Dick (Oct 8th, 2019) - The Fall 2019 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The eighth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (185) and series (466) for the women. As for the men, Ken M. Wilson snagged this week's high game with a 224, and high series was earned by Aaron Barber with a 639. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • See You Next Tuesday for the Position Round! (Oct 1st, 2019) - By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Fall 2019 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The seventh week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Alison Radke landed this week's high game for the women with a 190, and women's high series was bagged by Mary Clarke with a 469. As for the men, Carl Goetz and Seth Gunderson both tied for this week's high game with a 246, and high series was earned by Matthew Taylor with a 654. Read on for all the rest of the details!

JoAnne Gordon picked up this week's high game (142) and series (389) for the women, while Ian Goetz earned this week's high game (268) and series (702) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Week 2 RoboRecap (Aug 27th, 2019) - The second week of Fall 2019 saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. As for the men, Ian Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 641. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Spring 2019 Recap (May 15th, 2019) -

  • Clinched! (Apr 23rd, 2019) - Originally I was going to leave this week's as a robo-writeup due to me having another busy week, but then CICK Ass screwed that up for me by accomplishing something I had failed to notice they could do this week: they clinched the championship two weeks early! This makes the first championship for Chantal Jacot, 6 for Ian Goetz, a staggering 13 for Carl "Tits" Goetz, and an even more staggering 14 for Ken M. Wilson (sheesh!). Congratulations to all four of you!

  • It was the best of frames, it was the worst of frames... (Apr 9th, 2019) - When we have 8 teams the Position Round slices our season cleanly in half. But when we have 12 teams the Position Round is more like the mighty guillotine, slicing off just the end while the main body remains on the slab of history. Three normal-ish weeks remain before the Championship round, but even lest time that that remains for anyone to act before the current #1 team clinches the championship outright.

  • Let Chaos Reign (Apr 2nd, 2019) - By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2019 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The eleventh week saw four teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (175) and series (442) for the women. As for the men, Jonathan Vigliaturo and Ken M. Wilson both tied for this week's high game with a 237, and high series was earned by Aaron Barber with a 663. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Big Ball Chantal (Mar 12th, 2019) - Many times throughout our history bowlers have bought a new ball and seen immediate improvement in their game. But never before have we seen this happen as dramatically as it did last night with Chantal's new ball. Overall, two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Chantal Jacot picked up this week's high game (208) and series (471) for the women, while Dennis Walling earned this week's high game (245) and series (634) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • The Lava Lamp (Mar 5th, 2019) - Like the globs in a lava lamp, teams have been taking turns rising to the top only to then quickly sink back down. This week was no exception, as CICK Ass returned to the top with We Don't Give a Split bubbling up just behind, while Pin Is King and #MGAGA have cooled and sunk, perhaps to be heated back up again.

  • Week 6 RoboRecap (Feb 26th, 2019) - The sixth week of Spring 2019 saw five teams climb in the standings, while five teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. As for the men, Matthew Taylor earned this week's high game (279) and series (747). Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Better Late Than Never! (Feb 19th, 2019) - This week a record three teams post-bowled due to illness and weather. But not, finally, all the scores are in. The fifth week of Spring 2019 saw four teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (188) and series (523) for the women, while Ian Goetz earned this week's high game (243) and series (593) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Teetering on the Brink of a 1st Place Swap (Feb 12th, 2019) - The fourth week of Spring 2019 saw four teams climb in the standings, while five teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 151, and women's high series was bagged by Monica Hufford with a 404. As for the men, Nick Kinney snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Ian Goetz with a 615. Two bowlers roll a new personal best game. Alison Radke landed this week's high game for the women with a 196, and women's high series was bagged by Monica Hufford with a 461. As for the men, Russell Bingham snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Seth Gunderson with a 620. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • These Go To Eleven (Jan 23rd, 2019) - The Spring 2019 kicked off on an icy night (in which we were the only league brave enough to show up) with a record-breaking eleven teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Three bowlers didn't get the memo that you aren't supposed to do this the first week and set a new personal best series, and four rolled new personal high games. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (176) and series (468) for the women. As for the men, Jeremy Cline snagged this week's high game with a 228, and high series was earned by Conor Clarke with a 591. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Fall 2018 Recap (Dec 13th, 2018) -

  • EIGHT-BALLED UPSET!!!!! (Dec 4th, 2018) - The Fall 2018 season draws to a close, with 8 Balls officially earning this season's championship title! But we aren't quite finished yet -- next week we will meet at our usual time to name all the award winners and hand out prize money (in the meeting room on the Finnegan's side, through the back of the snack bar), followed by 9-pin-tap fun night. • Could Next Week Include a Three-Way? (Nov 27th, 2018) - Well, this is it, we’ve nearly reached the end of the season and the championship round is next week. While much attention has been focused on the struggles this season of defending champions Serious Bowlers and the fact that they are now eliminated from trophy contention, there’s another part of this story that deserves even more attention. And that is the quiet but rapid rise of BDE. Oncedangling limp down in 7th place, BDE has firmed up into virile force that has penetrated into championship contention and could explode into a messy situation for all of us next week if a couple of other teams don’t use adequate protection. More on next week’s potential sticky situation in a moment, let’s first run through how everyone did last night…

  • Week 14 Semi Robo Recap (Nov 27th, 2018) - NOTE: Scoot was out of town when post-bowling scores came in and just got back late last night, so this will remain a robo-writeup except for a few special items highlighted below. The fourteenth week of Fall 2018 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Alison Radke picked up this week's high game (143) and series (401) for the women. As for the men, Aaron Barber snagged this week's high game with a 225, and high series was earned by Curtis Whiles with a 604. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Almost A Clean Sweep (Nov 13th, 2018) - This topsy-turvy season continues to get screwier and screwier, as four sweeps and a near sweep continued to stir up the standings. Once in 7th place, BDE this week pulled ahead of the two-time defending champions and found themselves tied for third place. Meanwhile rookie team Teeby Dee, who spent most of the season lingering near the bottom of the standings, suddenly finds a winning record within quick reach and is still mathematically a contender for the trophy. These two teams face each other next week, so this will be the game to watch as the outcome could be BDE moving cleanly into third place or TBD attaining a positive win record.

  • The Voter Rolls (Nov 6th, 2018) - Last night, based on exit polling plus early returns, Bowling News Network (BNN) called first place for Serious Bowlers. Boy, are we red-faced about that one. We haven't missed a call that badly since we projected Hiillary Clinton the Tournament of Champions winner in Fall 2016! The twelfth week of Fall 2018 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (172) and series (493) for the women. As for the men, Seth Gunderson snagged this week's high game with a 233, and high series was earned by Aubrey Moren with a 565. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Week 11 Final RoboHeadline (Oct 30th, 2018) - The eleventh week of Fall 2018 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (162) and series (427) for the women, while Michael Gordon earned this week's high game (242) and series (595) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Hitting A Wall (Oct 9th, 2018) - We are now halfway through the Fall 2018 season, and the league seems to have hit a brick wall. Other than a tit-for-tat between BDE and We Don't Give A Split, no teams were able to budge in the standings with just a week to go before Position Round.

  • Week 6 RoboRecap (Sep 25th, 2018) - The sixth week of Fall 2018 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (167) and series (446) for the women. As for the men, Russell Bingham snagged this week's high game with a 235, and high series was earned by Michael Mead with a 649. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • The ToC Takes Off (Sep 11th, 2018) - The fourth week of Fall 2018 saw three teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Monica Hufford picked up this week's high game (168) and series (479) for the women, while Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (203) and series (586) for the men. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Week 2 RoboRecap (Aug 30th, 2018) - The second week of Fall 2018 saw five teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (169) and series (446) for the women, while Aaron Barber earned this week's high game (243) and series (634) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

  • Time Again for Fall Bowling (Aug 16th, 2018) - With most of last season's bowlers returning, our newcomers brings back up to 10 teams for this session! Please give a warm welcome to (in roster order): Jeremy Cline, Conor Clarke, Emmy Hanlon, Ben Conaghan, Colin Belmont, Chuck Kissee (sub going full-time), David Juiliano, Luke Melton, Curtis Whiles, and Neil Hufford (sub going full-time).
