Keeping It Brief

Posted by BowlingBot November 6, 2019 Fall 2019, Week 12 View Score Sheets

(Scoot here... I'm taking care of a dog that just came home from surgery while also trying to get some yard work done during this window of good weather, so I'm keeping this writeup short by mostly leaving it as what the bot generated.)
The twelfth week of Fall 2019 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Alison Radke picked up this week's high game (167) and series (424) for the women, while Michael Gordon earned this week's high game (242) and series (674) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: With a battle so mismatched that the outcome could trigger the apocalypse, the wrathful C.I.C.K. Ass 2 matched wits with the rascally The James Tott Center for Kids Who Can't Bowl Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Too. Despite being propelled by Ian Goetz with his 615 series, CICK accomplished only 1 win against James Tott School for B's. Over on the other side, James Tott with his better-than-normal 497 series showed off for James Tott School for B's as his team took the match with 3 wins. C.I.C.K. Ass 2 drops 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while James Tott School for B's remain in 4th.

Meanwhile, down on our usual set of lanes last night, this really happened during the special event taking places down there.

On lanes 17 & 18: In a pairing of teams of similar strength, Bowl Movements faced off against Scared Splitless. Although receiving some motivation from Conor Clarke with his amazing 555 series, Movements got swept by Splitless. In the meantime, Curtis Whiles with his better-than-normal 537 series shone in Splitless (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Michael Whiles) as they swept the competition. Bowl Movements drop 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Splitless move up 1 spot to 7th.

On lanes 19 & 20: We find a pairing of virtually equal strengths, as Rear Admirals debated whether to go all Tonya Harding on BDE. Although topped by Scott Murdock with his 513 series, Admirals got swept by BDE. In the midst of this, Alison Radke with her better-than-normal 424 series guided BDE as they swept the competition. Rear Admirals remains in 6th place, while BDE remains in 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: With closely-matched team strength, See you next Tuesday! had a rendezvous with Pin Is King 2. Regardless of the star power of Aaron Barber with his above-average 582 series, Next Tuesday accomplished only 1 win against Kings. Countering this, #1 Head-to-Head Michael Gordon and his straight-up ludicrous 674 series inspired Kings as his team took the match with 3 wins. See you next Tuesday! remains in 1st place, while Kings move up 1 spot to 2nd.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (235), Ben Spencer (217), Carl Goetz (203,204), Curtis Whiles (218), Ian Goetz (232,214), Jonathan Vigliaturo (236), Ken M. Wilson (210), Matthew Taylor (203), Michael Gordon (211,242,221), Nick Kinney (204), and Seth Gunderson (200)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Michael Whiles (199, previous best 150). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Michael Whiles (518, previous best 407).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Michael Gordon trounced Division 1, while AJ Hofmann clobbered Division 2. Curtis Whiles creamed Division 3, and Michael Whiles crushed Division 4. In terms of overall points: Michael Gordon dominates Division 1; Scott Murdock governs Division 2; Curtis Whiles reigns over Division 3; and Jared Nuhn holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 3&4, 1st-place See you next Tuesday! will match wits with 8th-place Bowl Movements (hcp 152). Next Tuesday is expected to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while Movements are forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 5&6, 4th-place The James Tott Center for Kids Who Can't Bowl Good and Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Too (hcp 20) will chuck some balls with 5th-place BDE. James Tott School for B's might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while BDE ought to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 7&8, 7th-place Scared Splitless (estimated hcp 146) will roll against 2nd-place Pin Is King 2. Splitless will likely amazing and win the series; while Kings will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 9&10, 6th-place Rear Admirals (hcp 195) will tussle with 3rd-place C.I.C.K. Ass 2. Admirals are predicted to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while CICK is anticipated to see their team average take a dive even though they enjoy their victories.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
