The tweltfh week of Spring 2009 saw three teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (220) and series (533) for the women. As for the men, Jason Carpio snagged this week's high game with a 237, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 595. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Turkey Sandwich shared a platter of cheese sticks with No Pinheads. Despite the strength of Jason Carpio with his above-average 572 series, Turkey Sandwich got swept by No Pinheads. On the other side, Phil Schroeder commanded No Pinheads with his outstanding 550 as they swept the competition. Turkey Sandwich drops 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while No Pinheads jump 2 spots to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Chicks With Balls had some one-on-one time with WWJB. Even though highlighted by the skills of Janelle (Laube) Lamar with her 421 series, the Chicks accomplished only 1 win against WWJB. Simultaneously, Rich Foster mastered WWJB with his terrific 445 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Chicks With Balls drop 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while WWJB moves 1 spot to 6th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Chico's Bail Bonds alternated splits with Rule 6B. Featuring #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his above-average 595 series, Chico's collected 3 wins against Rule 6B. On the adjacent lane, Ryan Doll showed off in Rule 6B with his 506 despite his team notching only a single win. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 2nd place, while Rule 6B sinks 1 spot to 4th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends faced off against Sh!t, Another Season. Reinforced by #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Ryan Housknecht and his splendid 489 series, Wonder Friends celebrated a clean sweep over Another Season. On the flipside, Duncan Ferber reigned supreme in Another Season with his 549 despite his team getting swept. Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends leap 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Another Season sinks 1 spot to 5th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: XXX couldn't stop inappropriately groping Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Notwithstanding the leadership of Rich DeYoung with his below-average 450 series, XXX got swept by Schlitz. Meanwhile, Angela Bradford dominated Schlitz with her above-average 533 as they swept the competition. XXX remains in 10th place, while Schlitz remains in 1st.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Angela Bradford (220), Carl Goetz (208), Duncan Ferber (201), Freda Schroeder (215), Jason Carpio (237), and Ken M. Wilson (209)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz made quick work of Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Angela Bradford came closest). Adam Messner walloped Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Rich Foster came closest). Finally, Phil Schroeder (Division 2) clobbered this week's Interdivisional bracket.Finally, Ryan Housknecht (Division 4) clobbered this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz calls the shots for Division 1; Phil Schroeder runs the show in Division 2; Adam Messner dominates Division 3; and Deena Slinkard is in the driver's seat in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 6th-place WWJB (hcp 16) will test their mettle against 8th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends. WWJB is expected to perform well, but split the series with Wonder Friends; while Wonder Friends are forecast to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 4th-place Rule 6B will spend some quality time with 9th-place Turkey Sandwich (hcp 42). Rule 6B might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Turkey Sandwich ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 1st-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You will socialize with 7th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 87). Schlitz will likely maintain their current strength as they win the series; while the Chicks will probably raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 3rd-place No Pinheads will face 10th-place XXX (hcp 118). No Pinheads might maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while XXX ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 5th-place Sh!t, Another Season (hcp 4) will chill with 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds. Another Season is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Chico's are anticipated to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
