Jason has unlocked the following Spring 2024 achievements...

A listing (from most current to furthest back) of any write-up posts in which Jason has been mentioned:
  • Holy NotContra, Batman! (Nov 28th, 2017) - With the last regular night of bowling in the history books, the remote possibility of the season ending in a three-way tie has faded away. Instead, next week Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! will attempt to protect their cherished first-place position from their only remaining challenger: NotContra.

  • The Dirty Dozens (Nov 7th, 2017) - Twelve weeks of bowling are now in the books... the season is 3/4 over, and while one team has maintained a two-game lead for three weeks in a row, the top 5 spots in the standings remain too close for us to start predicting a winner just yet.

  • Who's On First? (Sep 27th, 2017) - While Mustache Cash Stash technically remains in first place by total pins, there are three teams tied for first place and a total of 5 teams that are within a game of first place. To have so many teams so close together at the top of the standings by week 6 is absolutely unprecedented in the history of our league. No, that's not hyperbole, I went through the week 6 standings of every past season and there has never been such a massive tie before by this point in the season.

  • A New King is Crowned (Dec 10th, 2014) - Sixteen weeks ago 32-bowlers on 8 different teams started out all with the same record of zero wins and zero losses, scheduled to do battle with one another at least twice. Tuesday night saw the end results of those slugfests with the men of the brashly named 921+ walking away as the champions of the Fall 2014 season of GutterAlley action.Find out how the Finals went...

  • He's Baaaaaaack (Nov 4th, 2014) - With baseball season finally over, perfect attendance was *almost* achieved as 31 of the league's 32 bowlers showed up to do battle Tuesday night. Net result? Six teams swapped places while several bowlers make their own personal history with their highest games and series to date.Needless to say it was quite a night in GutterAlley action...

  • The Royals Treatment (Oct 21st, 2014) - Some big scores were rolled Tuesday night, including a 10-in-a-row Game #3 out of rookie Aaron Barber who ended his night with the 4th highest score ever shot in league history. Week #9 action cannot be fully reported yet, due to the current league leaders needing to post-bowl, but we're pretty sure Barber will come away with the story of the night.

  • Holding onto the Reigns (Sep 9th, 2014) - Despite a league record being shattered by the team right on their tail, My Three Sons – last season's reigning champs – refuse to relinquish control of 1st place for a second week in a row. Tentatively, five teams took over a new spot in the standings while we all wait for Split It & Hit It to complete their post-bowling.

  • Fall 2013: And the winner is... (Dec 11th, 2013) - The Fall 2013 Fun Night closed out the season with an awards ceremony announcing the winners of the individual achievements, season favorites, and the newest addition to the GutterAlley Hall of Fame...

  • The Battle for Second Place? (Oct 15th, 2013) - Bowltron is now a full eight games ahead of the rest of the league now in Week #9 as they continue their seemingly unstoppable march to the Finals.

  • Hall of Fame Nominees: Fall 2013 (Oct 14th, 2013) - The GutterAlley Hall of Fame was created to commemorate and honor those individuals that best represent the bowling league throughout its rich history. Six league luminaries have been selected to grace this season's ballot. Congratulations to Bill Krejci, Cory Chorpenning, Demond Robinson, Jason Carpio, Pat Searcy, and Ryan Doll. Now it's up to you, the bowling community, to vote for your favorites...

  • Open Letter from Ken: Pat Searcy for the Hall of Fame... (Sep 9th, 2013) -

  • Spring 2013: And the winner is... (May 22nd, 2013) - The Spring 2013 Fun Night closed out the season with an awards ceremony announcing the winners of the individual achievements, season favorites, and the newest addition to the GutterAlley Hall of Fame...

  • The 11th Frame – Week 15, Spring 2013 (May 13th, 2013) -

  • The 11th Frame – Week 10, Spring 2013 (Apr 4th, 2013) -

  • The 11th Frame - Week 9, Spring 2013 (Mar 28th, 2013) -

  • He’s Baaaaaaaaaaaack! (Mar 26th, 2013) - What do you get when you cross Steve Kiernan and a 2+ month absence from the bowling league? Why, a 700+ series...that's what! The impressive output from Steve keeps the team he subbed for firmly in first place while only one team in the league managed to find themselves upward bound in the first week of GutterAlley action after last week's position round. Ready to see how the rest of the league stacked up? Hop to it, then...

  • Hall of Fame Nominees: Spring 2013 (Mar 25th, 2013) - The GutterAlley Hall of Fame was created to commemorate and honor those individuals that best represent the bowling league throughout its rich history. Six league luminaries have been selected to grace this season's ballot. Congratulations to Bill Krejci, Cory Chorpenning, Demond Robinson, Jason Carpio, Ryan Doll, and Seth Gunderson. Now it's up to you, the bowling community, to vote for your favorites...

  • The 11th Frame – Week 6, Spring 2013 (Mar 8th, 2013) -

  • The 11th Frame: Week 5, Spring 2013 (Feb 21st, 2013) -

  • One Pin Ken (Feb 20th, 2013) - The record for the highest series ever thrown in GutterAlley's history has stood since Week 6 of the Spring 2008 session, when Don Glasscock put up a 770 series. While it still stands as the best, one lousy pin kept Ken M. Wilson from not only throwing a perfect game but also from creating a score that would have bested Don's series. Week #5 is now history...do you know where your favorite team stands?

  • The 11th Frame: Week 1, Spring 2013 (Jan 28th, 2013) -

  • Fall 2012: And the winner is... (Dec 18th, 2012) - Mr. 300 himself – David Codding – was named this season's inductee into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame, becoming the 7th bowler to enter as the Fall 2012 season officially came to an end Tuesday night. Prize money was handed out to everyone during the semi-annual Fun Night. The winners for the individual achievements as well as the top picks for the season favorites were announced as the gang enjoyed a round of 9-pin tap and the various traditional trick shot challenges.

  • You Can't Top FTOP (Dec 11th, 2012) - It took until the very last roll of their matchup, but a new championship team was crowned on Tuesday night as the Finals went down to conclude the Fall 2012 season of GutterAlley action...Congrats to John Boren, Cory Chorpenning, David Codding, and Ken M. Wilson!

  • No Friends of Mine (Dec 4th, 2012) - Week #15 set the stage for the Finals of the 26th season of GutterAlley action. Two teams, separated by a mere half a game, will battle it out for the crown in one of the tightest races to the finish line in league history. Let's get this party started...

  • The Antithesis of Perfect (Nov 27th, 2012) - Two weeks until the Finals. Big battles on the lanes. High scores. Low scores. Blowout victories. Extremely narrow losses. And yet, in the end, not a single team managed to move up or down in the league standings. Ready to see how the teams are setting the stage for the last week before the Finals? Let's go.

  • Tentative Turkeys (Nov 20th, 2012) - Thanksgiving is just around the corner...and so are the Finals. One team has opted to post bowl this week so the true standings, MVB, #1 Power Ranked bowler, and Tournament of Champions results cannot be completely calculated just yet. Want to see what did transpire, though? You've come to the right place.

  • Taking It On the Chin (Oct 23rd, 2012) - Just about every underdog team in tonight's matchups made sure to make their opponents take it on the chin as the league standings tightened up in the second half of the Fall 2012 season. Despite only three teams changing places, leads over other teams have been significantly diminished as only ten games separate all eight teams in the league. With 28 games still left to win, it's honestly anyone's title to take. Will your favorite team make the most of these next seven weeks?

  • Hall of Fame Nominees: Fall 2012 (Oct 22nd, 2012) - The GutterAlley Hall of Fame was created to commemorate and honor those individuals that best represent the bowling league throughout its rich history. Six league luminaries have been selected to grace this season's ballot. Congratulations to David Codding, Demond Robinson, Janelle "Nellie" (Laube) Lamar, Jason Carpio, Pat Searcy, and Seth Gunderson. Now it's up to you, the bowling community, to vote for your favorites...

  • Missed it by THAT Much... (Oct 9th, 2012) - Last week, David Codding rolled a perfect game. This week, Carl Goetz fell one pin shy of joining Codding in perfection after rolling eleven strikes in a row but ending with a 299. Other bowlers around the league also had big games and huge series. What's going on with these guys...and can they share it with the rest of us?!?See that pin? Carl HATES that pin.Dive into this week's writeup...

  • Absolute Perfection (Oct 2nd, 2012) - One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Six. Seven. Eight. Nine. Ten. Eleven. Twelve. Twelve strikes in a row. David Codding becomes the first person to roll a perfect game on league night. It doesn't get much better than that, folks. Actually, it cannot.

  • They Didn't Split It, They Hit It (Sep 11th, 2012) - Week #3 is now in the books and with it came some surprises across the league: the last place team upset the first place team; two bowlers shot over 250+ while another shot over 240; several seemingly-impossible splits were picked up; and, in the end, several games were settled by the slimmest of margins. Ahh, GutterAlley...bring me the scoop!

  • The Cream Rises (Sep 4th, 2012) - Highly volatile Week #2 reshuffled the league standings, putting six of the eight teams in a new spot. Two teams have already separated themselves from everyone else after amassing 7-1 records while four teams (yes, FOUR TEAMS!) share a record of 3-5. This season should prove to be a fun ride, as usual. Ready to see how everyone did? Of course you are...

  • Three is a Magic Number (Aug 29th, 2012) - The new season. Eight teams. 32 bowlers. Initial week results? 3-1 for four teams, 1-3 for the others. Nothing like consistency to get things started, eh?The highlight of the night, though, was seeing Rob Kaszuba receiving his surprise replacement bowling ball after a mishap over the summer that destroyed his regular ball. Thanks to everyone who pitched in on the gift!

  • Spring 2012: And the winner is... (May 8th, 2012) - The 25th season of the GutterAlley bowling league came to a close and the list of winners from the season favorites to individual achievements were announced...as well as Bob Brunker, the latest inductee into the Hall of Fame.

  • Two Records in One (Feb 22nd, 2012) - Personal bests left and right – high games as well as high series. Scores big enough to earn spots on a number of Top 25 lists as well as one in the top five all-time records in league history. One team even tied the biggest output from a 5-person team Tuesday night. What the hell has gotten into all of these people?!?

  • Oh, Bowling...I Love You! (Feb 14th, 2012) - Valentine's Day is typically a time in which you spend your evening with your true love. Such was the case with the faithful as they took the lanes to rekindle a romance with high scores. Love is a fickle creature and, just like in real life, some managed to find bliss. Unlike love, however, people were thrilled when they struck out. Ready to find out how everyone did as they aimed for the lane's arrows rather than expecting Cupid's?

  • The Blue and the Gray (Jan 24th, 2012) - Week #2 of GutterAlley's 25th season is now in the history books and with it came some rather impressive performances from what some would consider unlikely sources. Tuesday night also saw the official debuts of some new rookies including Chris Klee, Alexandra Avila, and Sarah West as well as new subs Kris Karnes and Matt Hile. Welcome to the league, gang!Ready to find out how everyone did? We thought so...

  • The Party is Underway (Jan 17th, 2012) - Tuesday say the official kickoff of the 25th season in GutterAlley's history. This time around, 40 different bowlers across 8 teams will do battle for 16 weeks in a quest to come away with the championship title in the Spring 2012 session. So how did everyone do in their initial outing? Let's find out, shall we?

  • And the winner is... (Dec 21st, 2011) - Carl Goetz became the 5th bowler to be inducted into the GutterAlley Hall of Fame on Tuesday, capping off the Fall 2011 Fun Night. The winners of the Season Favorites were also announced along with the other various season-ending awards. Ready to find out who all was chosen? Read on, then, dammit!

  • The Big Finish (Dec 13th, 2011) - What a whirlwind finish to the Fall 2011 season – Ryan Doll shoots a 700+ series, 5 out of the eight teams swapped places in the league standings, and several people rolled their all time personal best games and series including this week's Most Valuable Bowler Eric Summers. Not a bad way to end it all, eh?

  • Futility for the Finals (Dec 6th, 2011) - Freda Schroeder, Phil Schroeder, Dennis "Pops" Laube, and Aubrey Moren finished what they set out to do this season – winning a championship. Besting all other teams en route to the season's best record, No Pinheads were crowned the Fall 2011 champions a full week before the Finals. How's that for a finish? As it turns out, every single team will face the team they faced this week in the Finals. Again, how's THAT for a finish? And, anyone have any idea why Pops looks like he's constipated in their championship photo to the left?

  • Two Games Away (Nov 29th, 2011) - The members of No Pinheads have been in first place since Week #4. Here we are in Week #14 and they are only two games away from ending any doubt as to which team will come away with the championship crown in the Fall 2011 season. Only two weeks remain and, with only one team even able to knock them out, things are looking pretty good for them. Not a single team managed to move up or down this week, despite some stellar games from a few individuals. Ready to hear how everyone did? Let's go, then...

  • NEW FEATURE: The Over/Under Factor (Nov 23rd, 2011) -

  • Happy Thanks-taking! (Nov 22nd, 2011) - Later this week, many of us will enjoy a feast with our loved ones over a wonderful dinner. Tuesday night, however, three teams in our league made meals out of their opponents on the lanes to begin their holiday week. With one team still waiting to find the results of their matchup due to their competition opting to post-bowl early next week, as it stands at the moment not a single team moved up or down in the league standings. Will this change once the final scores are tallied? We'll have to wait and see...

  • The Lad and the Legend (Nov 8th, 2011) - Nine different bowlers hoisted games in the 200+ range Tuesday night but, despite the heavy hittings of the pins, only two teams managed to swap places in the league standings. Despite the moves, the gaps in-between teams have shrunk setting the stage for a fun final month of the Fall 2011 season. Can league leaders No Pinheads hold onto first place for the remainder of the season? Only time will tell. And who the hell let Pat Searcy into NKC Pro Bowl?!? Find out why in this week's update...

  • Maintaining the Status Quo (Nov 2nd, 2011) - Week #10 had big games...big series...big wins. And yet, hardly anything changed in the league standings. With the Finals a mere six weeks away, if someone plans to challenge the current standings leaders they best make their move soon before it's too late.

  • Still On Top (Oct 25th, 2011) - No Pinheads continues to sit atop the standings, a full eight games ahead of the rest of the league. In the Spring 2008 session, these same four bowlers wrapped up their season as league champions. They seem to be on pace to finish on top but the rest of the league has other plans. Is it too late to catch them or is the fun just getting started? Ready to find out how everything went down this week? Let's get it on.

  • Hall of Fame Nominees: Spring 2011 (Oct 25th, 2011) - The GutterAlley Hall of Fame was created to commemorate and honor those individuals that best represent the bowling league throughout its rich history. Six league luminaries have been selected to grace this season's ballot. Congratulations to Bob Brunker, Carl Goetz, Dennis "Pops" Laube, Janelle "Nellie" (Laube) Lamar, Jason Carpio, and Pat Searcy. Now it's up to you, the bowling community, to vote for your favorites...

  • Compromising Position Round (Oct 18th, 2011) - The Fall 2011 season is now half over and, with the position round behind us, the stage has been set for an epic second half. With the league now sensing that No Pinheads can be ousted from the top of the league standings, it's now just a matter of time before some team rises to the occasion to do just that. The second half belongs to anyone and it's now just a matter of watching how it all unfolds. Game on.

  • The Untouchables (Oct 5th, 2011) - Like several seasons before, No Pinheads has dominated the first half of the season. Will this be the season that they can keep up this pace and carry it all the way through the Finals? Seven other teams have plans to derail them on their quest. With the position round just around the corner, there's no telling how things will shape up as the season continues.

  • Orion Win-kaid! (Sep 20th, 2011) - Week #4 is now in the record books and with it came six of the eight teams in the league switching places in the standings. Orion Kinkaid put on the performance of the season thus far, earning both MVB and #1 Power Ranked Bowler status. A third team has now ascended to the top of the league and we're only a quarter of the way through the season. The Fall 2011 session is truly a wild one, that's for sure...

  • STFU, Johnny! (Sep 13th, 2011) - Week #3 is now in the history books and the standings have once again reshuffled with nearly every team moving into a new spot. Big games brought big wins for two teams who now find themselves sitting atop the league with a record of 9-3. Will these two teams meet in the Finals? Only time will tell.Ready to find out how your favorite team did this week? Well, let's go...

  • Up, Up and Away (Sep 6th, 2011) - Historically, Week #2 really changes things up as people are beginning to settle into their averages after the highs and lows of the initial week. Every single team swapped places this week after all was said and done with a new team ascending to the top of the heap.Ready to get the full story?

  • And So It Begins... (Aug 23rd, 2011) - Eight teams.Thirty-two bowlers. Sixteen weeks. Three hundred eighty-four games. One championship crown. Who wants it the most? Only time will tell...

  • Fall 2011: Time to Pick Teams! (Aug 4th, 2011) -

  • Fall Recruitment (Jul 29th, 2011) - Starting back on August 23rd, the twenty-fourth season of the VML Bowling League will get underway. There are 32 spots that need to be filled and we're cruising right along. Interested in either being on the list or seeing who has already signed up? Check it out...

  • New Feature: The Hall of Fame (Mar 22nd, 2011) -

  • The Kansas City 49ers (Dec 7th, 2010) - The 22nd session of the VML Bowling League has come to a close with 3/4ths of last season's title winners repeating as champions. A late surge by Ground Zero Mosque in the Finals managed to propel them into 2nd place while this week's Most Valuable Bowler rolled his highest game ever to cap off the evening.Ready to find out how everyone did in the Finals? Good. Let's light this candle, then...

  • It's a Wrap! Finals Next Week (Nov 30th, 2010) - This season's powerhouse team proved to be the Pin Pricks as they clinched the title one week before the Finals. Congratulations to Ian Goetz, Carl Goetz, David Codding and Ken M. Wilson for winning the 2010 Fall season of the VML Bowling League. While the rest of the league spread themselves out quite a bit on the second to last week of bowling, the teams in 2nd and 3rd place end up with a mere half of a game separating one another. The season's individual achievements reached an ending as well with eight bowlers lined up to receive additional money in their envelopes at the end of the season. Want to find out who garnered the extra green? Read on...

  • Go For It (Nov 16th, 2010) - Week 13 saw the largest shakeup in the league standings in quite some time with three teams swapping places after all was said and done. Bowl Movement, after last week's set back, got right back on the horse and galloped up from 6th to 4th place with their sights on climbing even higher before the season ends. With the Finals just a mere three weeks away on December 7th, will they continue their meteoric rise or will the teams ahead of them in the standings hold onto their respective spots? Only time will tell...

  • The Mighty Mosques (Nov 2nd, 2010) - As the league moves into the month of November, there is still little movement in the league standings. However, the distance between the teams is radically changing. The first place team continues to distance themselves from the rest of the pack while the rest of the league tightens up around the middle. For the second week in a row, third place Ground Zero Mosque gains ground in the standings as they inch closer to overtaking 2nd place No Pinheads. With only five weeks remaining until the Finals, will these same teams remain in their respective spots or will there be a shakeup? Only time will tell...

  • Win, Lose or Split (Oct 26th, 2010) - With the position round behind everyone now, you'd think that there would start to be some kind of shift taking place in the league standings. Amazingly this is not the case in the VML Bowling League. Week 10 came and went with little to no standings-based fanfare, although some pretty important games were won that could make quite a difference in the long run.One team seems on its way to breaking into the top half of the standings, disrupting the stronghold that Kitten Mittons, Ground Mosque Zero, No Pinheads and the Pin Pricks have held onto since the start of the season...

  • The Monkeys Are Feeding (Oct 6th, 2010) - With the position round coming up, you'd think that there would be a big shakeup in the standings as teams jockeyed for better positions. Such was not the case on Week #7 when no team changed places whatsoever although various teams improved their leads heading into the big showdown. We here at GutterAlley.com think that the true shifts will come about the next time the league meets. One team, however, managed to quadruple their win record in a single night. Impressive, eh?Want to see how everyone performed? You've come to the right place...

  • Slowly Chipping Away (Sep 28th, 2010) - Having led the league since Week #2, the bowlers of No Pinheads found their lead cut down to a single game after narrowly taking a 3-1 victory over Bowl Movement this week. A two pin victory in Game #2 keeps them atop of the league standings...but with three other teams within striking distance of over taking the #1 spot, can they hold onto it long enough to win the title?Find out how everyone did in Week #6...

  • Can They Be Stopped? (Sep 14th, 2010) - One month into the bowling league and the members of No Pinheads are definitely kicking ass and taking names. With an 11-game winning streak under their belts at the moment, the team continues to distance themselves from the rest of the pack. However, the teams beneath them continue to battle it out in an effort to derail their championship efforts. Case in point? An unlikely bowler brought her A game this week while securing Most Valuable Bowler honors and derailing the reigning champions from inching within striking distance of the current league leaders...

  • Ups and Downs, Ins and Outs (Sep 7th, 2010) - During Week #3, some things stayed the same – No Pinheads still remain the team to beat – while some thing radically changed. After a forgettable Week #2, one bowler managed to completely reverse his team's fortunes with a powerful performance to earn this week's MVB nod while pushing them into third place. On the flip side, Feed the Monkey and Ground Zero Mosque took a brutal beating at the hands of their competitors. Want the full scoop? Read on...

  • A Rare Feat (Aug 24th, 2010) - The VML Bowling League officially kicked off Tuesday night with a mixture of long-tenured veterans alongside fresh new faces making up the cast of characters. Nine new rookies made their debut this season, including a last minute substitution called in at the final minute after another rookie announced he was dropping out from the league before even getting started. Two teams accomplished a rare feat, though, by sweeping their opponents on the first night – something that has only happened a handful of times throughout the years. On paper, these two teams are scheduled to face one another in the Finals but with the season just getting underway, it's still truly anyone's season to win. Want to find out how everyone did? Read on...
