The 22nd season of the VML Bowling League came to a close Tuesday night with four teams swapping places in the standings after all was said and done. Only three teams ended with a record above .500, each managing to compile records strong enough to move into the top ten best win records in the league's 11-year history. Congratulations to the members of Pin Pricks (49-15), Ground Zero Mosque (45-19) and No Pinheads (43.5-20.5). As it is league tradition, please take a few moments out to vote for your season favorites. The winners will be announced next Tuesday when the prize money is handed out.Ready for the recap? Okay, here we go...In the fourth and final battle this season between the Pin Pricks and No Pinheads, the teams battled one another into a standstill ending the evening in a 2-2 tie. After losing Game #1 to the Pinheads behind Phil Schroeder's team-leading 504 series, the Pricks rallied to take Game #2 before faltering in the 10th frame to lose Game #3. Total pins went to the league champions by a slim margin resulting in the split. David Codding shot a 607 series to lead the Pricks. The Pricks end the season in 1st place while the Pinheads slip to third place.Due to unforeseen circumstances, the members of Kitten Mittons could not field a legal lineup in the Finals leaving Ground Zero Mosque to do battle against themselves. With each and every game coming down to the wire, the team managed to kick Rule 6B to the curb and add four more victories to their record and wrapped up second place. Jason Carpio led the Mosque with a 548 series. Despite the forfeits, Kitten Mittons managed to hold on to finish their season in fourth place.Having started Week #1 by shooting his personal highest game at the time, it was only fitting that Jake Parrott of Drink and Hurl end the season with an even higher game. Rolling his first 200+ game – and ending his week with a team-leading 481 series – Parrott earned Most Valuable Bowler honors en route to leading his team to a 3-1 matchup victory over opponents Bowl Movement. The Movement's Jessica Thomas shot a 455 series to land her team their lone victory of the night in the Finals. With the wins, Drink and Hurl swapped places with Bowl Movement and moved into 5th and 6th places respectively. In the final battle of the evening, Feed the Monkey took on themselves and came up smelling like roses. With Chris Able hosting a 443 series, the Monkeys bested the blind team to end their season with yet another four victories added to their record. The Monkeys, who had a much better run in the second half of the season, end it all in seventh place.Making his first appearance in The 200 Club this week was Jake Parrott (206). Joining him were David Codding (256) and Ken M. Wilson (230).For the full results of this week, please check out Season 22, Week 16.See you next Tuesday!
