The fourteenth week of Fall 2008 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Jennifer Seefeldt landed this week's high game for the women with a 188, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 484. As for the men, Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (258) and series (598). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chico's Bail Bonds spent a romantic evening with Livin' On A Spare. Blessed by Ken M. Wilson with his 563 series, Chico's celebrated a clean sweep over Livin' On A Spare. While that was going down, Tom Finley showed off in Livin' On A Spare with his below-average 364 despite his team getting swept. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 1st place, while Livin' On A Spare remains in 9th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Ain't No Sh!t deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Bowl Movement. With the strength of Duncan Ferber with his above-average 598 series, Ain't No Sh!t split the series with Bowl Movement. Conversely, Carter Collins mastered Bowl Movement with his above-average 453 as they matched their opponent in wins. Ain't No Sh!t remains in 2nd place, while Bowl Movement sinks 1 spot to 6th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Bad Newz Kennels alternated between bowling and dry humping Dave and the Wingers. Reinforced by Dennis Laube, Freda Schroeder with their 484 series, the Kennels collected 3 wins against the Wingers. Across the ball return, #1 Head-to-Head Rob Kaszuba ruled the Wingers with his above-average 506 despite his team notching only a single win. Bad Newz Kennels remains in 7th place, while the Wingers remain in 8th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Is This Billable? shared a few beers with Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty. In spite of the prowess of Ryan Doll with his below-average 492 series, Is This Billable? accomplished only 1 win against Spare The Rod. On the other half of the score sheet, Andrea Caudillo called the shots for Spare The Rod with her above-average 435 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Is This Billable? plummets 2 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Spare The Rod jumps 2 spots to 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Dios Mios accepted a challenge by WWJB. Starring Bill Krejci with his 527 series, with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Lefty John Boren as well as #1 Head-to-Head , Dios Mios celebrated a clean sweep over WWJB. On the other side, AJ Taylor oversaw WWJB with his below-average 300 despite his team getting swept. Dios Mios leap 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while WWJB remains in 10th.
Bowlers slipping under the velvet rope in front of The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (209), Duncan Ferber (258), Ken M. Wilson (200,203), and Ryan Doll (212)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz cleaned up Division 1, while Chris Lewis had his way with Division 2. John Keck crushed Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 4 as it was a complete embarassment. Finally, Janelle (Laube) Lamar (Division 4) creamed this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz calls the shots for Division 1; Aubrey Moren holds the reins in Division 2; Carter Collins runs the show in Division 3; and Lindsay Jamis dominates Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 2nd-place Ain't No Sh!t will share a couple of pitchers with 3rd-place Dios Mios (hcp 145). Ain't No Sh!t is expected to watch their averages take a plunge as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Dios Mios are forecast to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 8th-place Dave and the Wingers will meet with 9th-place Livin' On A Spare (hcp 16). The Wingers might perform well and win the series; while Livin' On A Spare ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place Is This Billable? will socialize with 6th-place Bowl Movement (hcp 48). Is This Billable? will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Bowl Movement will probably raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 1st-place Chico's Bail Bonds will roll against 10th-place WWJB (hcp 146). Chico's might perform well and sweep the series; while WWJB ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 7th-place Bad Newz Kennels will chill with 4th-place Spare The Rod, Split The Kitty (hcp 64). The Kennels are predicted to roll a little low, but split the series with Spare The Rod; while Spare The Rod is anticipated to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

"I didn't blame anyone for the loss of my legs. Some Chinaman took them from me in Korea."
John Keck, always with an excuse for a crappy game.
