The fourth week of Fall 2007 saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Jennifer Seefeldt picked up this week's high game (194) and series (523) for the women, while Don Glasscock earned this week's high game (238) and series (648) for the men. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Your Mom matched wits with Seefeldt the Glasscock. Though reinforced by Ryan Doll with his 545 series, Your Mom accomplished only 1 win against the Glasscock. In the midst of this, Don Glasscock drew the spotlight in the Glasscock with his 648 (with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler ) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Your Mom remains in 8th place, while the Glasscock remains in 1st.
On lanes 21 & 22: Sh!t, I Don't Know waged a heated competition against Bad Newz Kennels. Topped by Cory Chorpenning, Duncan Ferber with their 574 series, I Don't Know split the series with the Kennels. Conversely, Carl Goetz reigned supreme in the Kennels with his above-average 596 as they matched their opponent in wins. Sh!t, I Don't Know leaps 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while the Kennels remain in 2nd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Cannonbelt Run shared a few beers with The GameCox. Featuring #1 Power-Ranked Seth Gunderson and his splendid 537 series, Cannonbelt celebrated a clean sweep over the GameCox. Concurrently, Jason Carpio took the lead in the GameCox with his below-average 438 despite his team getting swept. Cannonbelt Run leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the GameCox sinks 1 spot to 5th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Split Happens tussled with Ebowla. In spite of the prowess of Nick Allegri with his below-average 451 series, Split Happens got swept by Ebowla. As for the opposition, Most Valuable Bowler Travis Kleiner guided Ebowla with his staggering 455 as they swept the competition. Split Happens drop 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Ebowla moves 1 spot to 9th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Dios Mios spent some quality time with Seriously Handicapped. Highlighting the skills of Steve Kiernan with his below-average 488 series, Dios Mios celebrated a clean sweep over the Handicapped. While that was going down, Tyler Hilker shined in the Handicapped with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 395 despite his team getting swept. Dios Mios remains in 3rd place, while the Handicapped sinks 1 spot to 10th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Brian Eye (220), Carl Goetz (214,201), Cory Chorpenning (215), David Parre (217), Don Glasscock (238,230), Duncan Ferber (202), Ryan Doll (207), and Seth Gunderson (212)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Duncan Ferber claimed victory in Division 1, while Nik Domann rolled his ass to the top of Division 2. Jennifer Seefeldt conquered Division 3, and Travis Kleiner creamed Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Don Glasscock and Phil Schroeder (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Duncan Ferber runs the show in Division 1; Nik Domann calls the shots for Division 2; Jennifer Seefeldt dominates Division 3; and Travis Kleiner governs Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Dios Mios will test their mettle against 5th-place The GameCox (hcp 22). Dios Mios are expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the GameCox is forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 9th-place Ebowla (hcp 4) will hang out with 10th-place Seriously Handicapped. Ebowla might perform well and sweep the series; while the Handicapped ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 7th-place Split Happens (hcp 75) will match wits with 2nd-place Bad Newz Kennels. Split Happens will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Kennels will probably raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 4th-place Cannonbelt Run (hcp 109) will meet with 1st-place Seefeldt the Glasscock. Cannonbelt might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Glasscock ought to drop their average a bit even as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 6th-place Sh!t, I Don't Know will challenge 8th-place Your Mom (hcp 114). I Don't Know is predicted to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Your Mom is anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
