Spring 2007 Week 10 Robo-RecapThe Spring 2007 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The tenth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (176) and series (488) for the women, while John Boren earned this week's high game (267) and series (701) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Guttersluts shared a few beers with Oily Balls. Featuring #1 Power-Ranked John Boren and his splendid 701 series, Guttersluts celebrated a clean sweep over Oily Balls. On the flipside, Pat Searcy drew the spotlight in Oily Balls with his below-average 537 despite his team getting swept. Guttersluts remains in 1st place, while Oily Balls plunge 2 spots to 4th.

week10On lanes 17 & 18: Unstoppabowl faced off against X9XX. Blessed by Cory Chorpenning with his 562 series, Unstoppabowl split the series with X9XX. Concurrently, Don Glasscock showed off in X9XX with his above-average 677 as they matched their opponent in wins. Unstoppabowl leaps 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while X9XX moves 1 spot to 3rd.

On lanes 19 & 20: Those 4 Bowlers did battle with Churn and Burn. Starring Seth Gunderson with his astounding 620 series, 4 Bowlers collected 3 wins against Churn and Burn. Countering this, Jason Carpio laid down the law in Churn and Burn with his below-average 492 despite his team notching only a single win. Those 4 Bowlers remains in 5th place, while Churn and Burn remains in 6th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Frickin' Ten Pin tussled with Doll's Balls. Even though highlighted by the skills of Carl Goetz with his above-average 595 series, Ten Pin accomplished only 1 win against Doll's Balls. Conversely, #1 Head-to-Head and Most Valuable Bowler John Richardson shined in Doll's Balls with his commanding 564 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Frickin' Ten Pin drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Doll's Balls move 1 spot to 7th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: King Pins deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of T.B.D.. Led by Duncan Ferber with his above-average 591 series, King Pins split the series with T.B.D.. On the other side, Steve Kiernan dominated T.B.D. with his above-average 579 as they matched their opponent in wins. King Pins remains in 9th place, while T.B.D. remains in 10th.

New personal high games were set tonight by Seth Gunderson (258, previous best 230) and Chris Lewis (198, previous best 177). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Seth Gunderson (620, previous best 611) and Chris Lewis (469, previous best 447).

Adding to the excitement, the 701 rolled by John Boren is this season's new high series for men.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: John Boren claimed victory in Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Seth Gunderson came closest). John Richardson rolled his ass to the top of Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Emily Austin came closest). Finally, Freda Schroeder (Division 2) creamed this week's Interdivisional bracket.Finally, Kendall Kukowski (Division 4) creamed this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: John Boren is in the driver's seat in Division 1; Seth Gunderson calls the shots Division 2; Deena Slinkard and Dave Hickerson reign over Division 3 in a tie; and Kendall Kukowski tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 5th-place Those 4 Bowlers will compete against 7th-place Doll's Balls (hcp 6). 4 Bowlers are expected to perform well and win the series; while Doll's Balls are forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 8th-place Frickin' Ten Pin will tussle with 9th-place King Pins (hcp 89). Ten Pin might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while King Pins ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 10th-place T.B.D. (hcp 103) will test their mettle against 4th-place Oily Balls. T.B.D. will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Oily Balls will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 3rd-place X9XX (hcp 6) will roll against 2nd-place Unstoppabowl. X9XX might roll a little low and get swept; while Unstoppabowl ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 6th-place Churn and Burn (hcp 22) will throw some gutter balls with 1st-place Guttersluts. Churn and Burn is predicted to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Guttersluts; while Guttersluts are anticipated to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
