Spring 2007 Week 11 Robo-RecapThe eleventh week of Spring 2007 saw three teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Deena Slinkard picked up this week's high game (231) and series (472) for the women, while Pat Searcy earned this week's high game (235) and series (604) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Those 4 Bowlers tussled with Doll's Balls. Though featuring Seth Gunderson with his below-average 476 series, 4 Bowlers accomplished only 1 win against Doll's Balls. Meanwhile, Ryan Doll ruled Doll's Balls with his 503 (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Chris Lewis, as well as #1 Head-to-Head ) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Those 4 Bowlers remains in 5th place, while Doll's Balls move 1 spot to 6th.

week11On lanes 17 & 18: Frickin' Ten Pin shared a few beers with King Pins. Despite the strength of Carl Goetz with his above-average 594 series, Ten Pin got swept by King Pins. On the other half of the score sheet, Duncan Ferber oversaw King Pins with his 521 as they swept the competition. Frickin' Ten Pin drops 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while King Pins jump 2 spots to 7th.

On lanes 19 & 20: T.B.D. deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Oily Balls. With T.B.D. forfeiting, all Oily Balls needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. In their battle to get within at least 40 pins of average, Pat Searcy drew the spotlight in Oily Balls with his 604 as his team took the series with 3 wins. T.B.D. remains in 10th place, while Oily Balls jump 2 spots to 2nd.

On lanes 21 & 22: X9XX kept grabbing the balls of Unstoppabowl. Headlined by Stefan Miller with his 515 series, X9XX split the series with Unstoppabowl. As for the opposition, Cory Chorpenning guided Unstoppabowl with his 543 (with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler ) as they matched their opponent in wins. X9XX drops 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Unstoppabowl sinks 1 spot to 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Churn and Burn spent a romantic evening with Guttersluts. Despite being led by Jason Carpio with his below-average 481 series, Churn and Burn got swept by Guttersluts. Countering this, John Boren commanded Guttersluts with his 574 as they swept the competition. Churn and Burn plummets 2 spots in the standings to 8th place, while Guttersluts remain in 1st.

Bowlers paying far too much for well vodka at The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (212), Carl Goetz (214), Chris Lewis (214), Cory Chorpenning (226), Deena Slinkard (231), Duncan Ferber (202), Pat Searcy (235), and Seth Gunderson (200)

New personal high games were set tonight by Deena Slinkard (231, previous best 194) and Chris Lewis (214, previous best 198). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Chris Lewis (498, previous best 469).

Adding to the excitement, the 231 rolled by Deena Slinkard is this season's new high game among women.

The 231 rolled by Deena Slinkard is the new 5th-best women's game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Carl Goetz came closest), while Stefan Miller creamed Division 2. Chris Lewis staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 3, and Daniel Bolton had his way with Division 4. Finally, John Boren (Division 1) topped this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: John Boren dominates Division 1; Seth Gunderson holds the reins in Division 2; Deena Slinkard leads Division 3; and Kendall Kukowski runs the show in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 4th-place X9XX will test their mettle against 2nd-place Oily Balls (hcp 18). X9XX is expected to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Oily Balls are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 5th-place Those 4 Bowlers (hcp 2) will hang out with 8th-place Churn and Burn. 4 Bowlers might perform well and sweep the series; while Churn and Burn ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 6th-place Doll's Balls (hcp 36) will compete against 1st-place Guttersluts. Doll's Balls will likely maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Guttersluts will probably drop their average a bit while avoid getting swept.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 7th-place King Pins (hcp 15) will meet with 10th-place T.B.D.. King Pins might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while T.B.D. ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 9th-place Frickin' Ten Pin will battle 3rd-place Unstoppabowl (hcp 12). Ten Pin is predicted to maintain their current strength as they just barely lose the series; while Unstoppabowl is anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.

Spring 2007 Week 9 Robo-RecapBy now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2007 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (190) and series (499) for the women, while John Boren earned this week's high game (246) and series (675) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Churn and Burn tussled with Frickin' Ten Pin. Headlined by Jason Carpio with his awe-inspiring 602 series, Churn and Burn collected 3 wins against Ten Pin. On the flipside, Phil Schroeder showed off in Ten Pin with his 499 despite his team notching only a single win. Churn and Burn leaps 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while Ten Pin sinks 1 spot to 7th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 17 & 18: T.B.D. shared a platter of cheese sticks with Unstoppabowl. With T.B.D. forfeiting, all Unstoppabowl needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. In their battle to get within at least 40 pins of average, Cory Chorpenning commanded Unstoppabowl with his below-average 532 as his team took the series with 3 wins. T.B.D. drops 1 spot in the standings to 10th place, while Unstoppabowl remains in 3rd.

On lanes 19 & 20: King Pins entered a showdown to the death with Those 4 Bowlers. With top billing by Duncan Ferber with his spectacular 613 series, King Pins split the series with 4 Bowlers. Conversely, Seth Gunderson shined in 4 Bowlers with his above-average 562 as they matched their opponent in wins. King Pins leap 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while 4 Bowlers remain in 5th.

On lanes 21 & 22: Oily Balls alternated between bowling and dry humping Guttersluts. Despite being led by Ken M. Wilson with his 549 series, Oily Balls got swept by Guttersluts. Across the ball return, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) John Boren reigned supreme in Guttersluts with his wondrous 675 as they swept the competition. Oily Balls drop 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Guttersluts move 1 spot to 1st.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Doll's Balls chucked gutter balls with X9XX. Notwithstanding the leadership of Ryan Doll with his 516 series, Doll's Balls accomplished only 1 win against X9XX. Countering this, Don Glasscock took the lead in X9XX with his 603 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Doll's Balls remains in 8th place, while X9XX remains in 4th.

  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Unstoppabowl (hcp 21) will share a couple of pitchers with 4th-place X9XX. Unstoppabowl might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with X9XX; while X9XX ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Those 4 Bowlers (hcp 12) will face 6th-place Churn and Burn. 4 Bowlers will likely roll decently and win the series; while Churn and Burn will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.

Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (191) and series (503) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (242) and series (660) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Doll's Balls chucked gutter balls with King Pins. Even though highlighted by the skills of John Richardson with his thrilling 499 series, Doll's Balls accomplished only 1 win against King Pins. In the meantime, John Coleman reigned supreme in King Pins with his 570 (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Daniel Bolton, as well as #1 Head-to-Head ) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Doll's Balls remains in 8th place, while King Pins remain in 10th.

week8On lanes 17 & 18: Churn and Burn entered a showdown to the death with Oily Balls. Though featuring James Cholke with his 489 series, Churn and Burn missed getting swept by Oily Balls by just one pin. Across the ball return, Pat Searcy took the lead in Oily Balls with his 590 as his team took the series with 3.5 wins. Churn and Burn drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Oily Balls remain in 1st.

On lanes 19 & 20: X9XX matched wits with Frickin' Ten Pin. Demonstrating the prowess of Stefan Miller with his 523 series, X9XX collected 3 wins against Ten Pin. While that was going down, #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz commanded Ten Pin with his commanding 660 despite his team notching only a single win. X9XX remains in 4th place, while Ten Pin moves 1 spot to 6th.

On lanes 21 & 22: T.B.D. spent a romantic evening with Those 4 Bowlers. Regardless of the star power of Steve Kiernan with his 555 series, T.B.D. accomplished only 1 win against 4 Bowlers. On the other half of the score sheet, Seth Gunderson laid down the law in 4 Bowlers with his above-average 566 as his team took the series with 3 wins. T.B.D. remains in 9th place, while 4 Bowlers remain in 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Guttersluts had some one-on-one time with Unstoppabowl. Led by Bill Krejci with his breathtaking 594 series, Guttersluts celebrated a clean sweep over Unstoppabowl. Countering this, Cory Chorpenning showed off in Unstoppabowl with his below-average 500 despite his team getting swept. Guttersluts leap 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while Unstoppabowl sinks 1 spot to 3rd.

Bowlers sneaking into The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (221,204), Carl Goetz (242,218,200), John Boren (213), John Coleman (213), and Pat Searcy (212,216)

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Dave Hickerson (514, previous best 499).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz trounced Division 1, while Seth Gunderson got the better of Division 2. Dave Hickerson creamed Division 3, and Daniel Bolton mopped up Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy dominates Division 1; Seth Gunderson governs Division 2; Deena Slinkard leads Division 3; and Kendall Kukowski tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Churn and Burn (hcp 38) will test their mettle against 6th-place Frickin' Ten Pin. Churn and Burn is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Ten Pin is forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 9th-place T.B.D. (hcp 55) will roll against 3rd-place Unstoppabowl. T.B.D. might roll a little low and get swept; while Unstoppabowl ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 10th-place King Pins (hcp 56) will throw some gutter balls with 5th-place Those 4 Bowlers. King Pins will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while 4 Bowlers will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 1st-place Oily Balls will chill with 2nd-place Guttersluts (hcp 54). Oily Balls might perform well and sweep the series; while Guttersluts ought to drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Doll's Balls (hcp 28) will meet with 4th-place X9XX. Doll's Balls are predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while X9XX is anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
