The seventh week of Fall 2006 saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (169) and series (424) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (216) and series (594) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: TBD couldn't stop inappropriately groping All Belts Are Off. Although blessed by Dave Winger with his above-average 469 series, TBD accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. While that was going down, David Codding took the lead in the Belt with his below-average 513 as his team took the series with 3 wins. TBD plummets 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while the Belt moves 1 spot to 2nd.
On lanes 17 & 18: Manute Bowl celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter. Led by Andy McLeod with his above-average 412 series, Manute Bowl collected 3 wins against Not Gutter. Countering this, Ryan Doll called the shots for Not Gutter with his below-average 444 despite his team notching only a single win. Manute Bowl leaps 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while Not Gutter plunges 2 spots to 8th.
On lanes 19 & 20: New Balls, Old Rack deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Frickin' Ten Pins. Headlined by Ken M. Wilson with his above-average 594 series, the Old Rack collected 3 wins against Frickin' Ten Pins. In the meantime, Carl Goetz laid down the law in Frickin' Ten Pins with his 516 despite his team notching only a single win. New Balls, Old Rack remains in 1st place, while Frickin' Ten Pins remain in 9th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Split Happens traded lane malfunctions with Hez-Bowl-lah. Notwithstanding the leadership of Nick Allegri with his below-average 423 series, Split Happens got swept by Hez-Bowl-lah. As for the opposition, Rich DeYoung showed off in Hez-Bowl-lah with his 499 as they swept the competition. Split Happens drop 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Hez-Bowl-lah remains in 4th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Guttersluts hung out with Bowlkake2. Though reinforced by Kris Hiestand with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 280 series, the Guttersluts got swept by Bowlkake2. On the other half of the score sheet, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Tim Segraves dominated Bowlkake2 with his exceptional 558 as they swept the competition. Guttersluts remains in 10th place, while Bowlkake2 jumps 3 spots to 5th.
Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hottub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: Ken M. Wilson (216), Thomas Lin (208), and Tim Segraves (212)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Pat Searcy whipped Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Rich DeYoung came closest). Scott Murdock creamed Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 4 as it was a complete embarassment. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Carl Goetz (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Ken M. Wilson leads Division 1; Rich DeYoung reigns over Division 2; Scott Murdock runs the show in Division 3; and Andy McLeod is in the driver's seat in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 4th-place Hez-Bowl-lah will spend some quality time with 8th-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 81). Hez-Bowl-lah is expected to perform well and win the series; while Not Gutter is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 5th-place Bowlkake2 (hcp 26) will match wits with 1st-place New Balls, Old Rack. Bowlkake2 might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Old Rack ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 19&20, 7th-place TBD (hcp 9) will throw some gutter balls with 3rd-place Split Happens. TBD will likely roll decently and win the series; while Split Happens will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Next up, on lanes 21&22, 10th-place Guttersluts (hcp 194) will challenge 2nd-place All Belts Are Off. The Guttersluts might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Belt ought to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 6th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 86) will face 9th-place Frickin' Ten Pins. Manute Bowl is predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Frickin' Ten Pins are anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
