The Fall 2006 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Deena Slinkard landed this week's high game for the women with a 192, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 502. As for the men, David Codding earned this week's high game (222) and series (623). Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 11 & 12: New Balls, Old Rack accepted a challenge by Guttersluts. Blessed by Ken M. Wilson with his 527 series, the Old Rack collected 3 wins against the Guttersluts. Conversely, Kris Hiestand oversaw the Guttersluts with his 347 despite his team notching only a single win. New Balls, Old Rack begins with 4th place, while the Guttersluts get rolling in 9th.

On lanes 13 & 14: Hez-Bowl-lah took turns kicking the ball return with All Belts Are Off. Regardless of the star power of Nik Domann with his 473 series, Hez-Bowl-lah accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. Simultaneously, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head David Codding dominated the Belt with his 623 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hez-Bowl-lah starts out in 6th place, while the Belt commences the season with 2nd.

On lanes 15 & 16: Frickin' Ten Pins had some one-on-one time with TBD. Showcasing Carl Goetz with his 539 series, Frickin' Ten Pins celebrated a clean sweep over TBD. Countering this, David Parre ruled TBD with his 456 despite his team getting swept. Frickin' Ten Pins gets underway in 1st place, while TBD begins in 10th.

On lanes 17 & 18: Manute Bowl shared a platter of cheese sticks with Bowlkake2. Although topped by Andy McLeod with his 435 series, Manute Bowl accomplished only 1 win against Bowlkake2. In the midst of this, Thomas Lin showed off in Bowlkake2 with his 548 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Manute Bowl begins the season in 7th place, while Bowlkake2 starts off with 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 19 & 20: I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter shared a few beers with Split Happens. Despite the strength of Ryan Doll with his 475 series, Not Gutter accomplished only 1 win against Split Happens. On the flipside, Nick Allegri laid down the law in Split Happens with his 545 as his team took the series with 3 wins. I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter 8th place, while Split Happens 5th.

The Tournament of Champions begins in 3 weeks. Here are how the divisions are shaping up so far:

• First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Manute Bowl (hcp 49) will socialize with 6th-place Hez-Bowl-lah. Manute Bowl is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Hez-Bowl-lah is forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
• Moving to lanes 17&18, 4th-place New Balls, Old Rack will hang out with 10th-place TBD (estimated estimated hcp 91). The Old Rack might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while TBD ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
