Spring 2003 Week 4 Robo-RecapThe fourth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Janelle (Laube) Lamar picked up this week's high game (191) and series (450) for the women, while Eric Lynch earned this week's high game (226) and series (629) for the men. Meanwhile, the Tournament of Champions also kicked off tonight, beginning of 13 weeks of one-on-one bowling excitement! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: When Push Comes To Shove couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of The Good Sons. In spite of the prowess of David Codding with his 543 series, the Shovers got swept by the Sons. Concurrently, Steve Robinson dominated the Sons with his above-average 426 as they swept the competition. When Push Comes To Shove plummets 4 spots in the standings to 6th place, while the Sons jump 3 spots to 5th.

week4On lanes 19 & 20: Hulk Smash! kept grabbing the balls of Top Guns. In spite of top-billing by Carl Goetz with his 552 series, the Hulk accomplished only 1 win against Top Guns. On the other half of the score sheet, Pat Searcy oversaw Top Guns with his 541 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Hulk Smash! remains in 4th place, while Top Guns remain in 1st.

On lanes 21 & 22: D-Day accepted a challenge by Spanked. With the strength of Most Valuable Bowler Ken M. Wilson and his astonishing 552 series, D-Day celebrated a clean sweep over Spanked. On the flipside, Thomas Lin laid down the law in Spanked with his below-average 483 despite his team getting swept. D-Day leaps 4 spots in the standings to 2nd place, while Spanked plunges 3 spots to 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Bowlers of Mass Destruction traded lane malfunctions with Canned Crabs. While headlined by Jarrod Guthrie with his above-average 494 series, Mass Destruction accomplished only 1 win against the Crabs. In the meantime, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Eric Lynch mastered the Crabs with his wondrous 629 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bowlers of Mass Destruction remains in 3rd place, while the Crabs remain in 7th.

Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (208), Eric Lynch (226,213), Jarrod Guthrie (215), Ken M. Wilson (200), and Pat Searcy (213)

New personal high games were set tonight by Janelle (Laube) Lamar (191, previous best 181) and Jarrod Guthrie (215, previous best 199). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by Jarrod Guthrie (494, previous best 474).

Adding to the excitement, the 629 rolled by Eric Lynch is this season's new high series for men.

The 226 rolled by Eric Lynch is tied for the 10th-best men's game in league history!
Eric Lynch SET THE NEW ALL-TIME HIGH SERIES WITH His 629! CONGRATULATIONS!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Bob Brunker made quick work of Division 1, while Eric Lynch had his way with Division 2. Phil Schroeder vanquished Division 3, and Tracey Robertson decimated Division 4. In terms of overall points: Bob Brunker leads Division 1; Eric Lynch is in the driver's seat in Division 2; Phil Schroeder runs the show in Division 3; and Tracey Robertson tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 4th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 35) will meet with 2nd-place D-Day. The Hulk is expected to roll a little low and get swept; while D-Day is forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 7th-place Canned Crabs will share a couple of pitchers with 5th-place The Good Sons (hcp 15). The Crabs might perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Sons ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 6th-place When Push Comes To Shove will chill with 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 43). The Shovers will likely see their averages fall off a cliff as they get swept; while Mass Destruction will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Spanked (hcp 12) will tussle with 1st-place Top Guns. Spanked is predicted to have the bottom drop out of their averages as they get swept; while Top Guns are anticipated to drop their average a bit even as they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 8th-place The Good Sons (estimated hcp 199) will hang out with 3rd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction. The Sons are expected to remarkable and sweep the series; while Mass Destruction is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 1st-place Spanked will meet with 6th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 92). Spanked might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Hulk ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Then, over on lanes 21&22, 4th-place Top Guns will challenge 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 114). Top Guns will likely have a bit of an off night, yet still manage to sweep the series; while the Crabs will probably hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 5th-place D-Day (estimated hcp 27) will battle 2nd-place When Push Comes To Shove. D-Day is predicted to maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Shovers are anticipated to see their team average take a dive while they endure a rough night.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
