This week saw most teams either remain fixed in the standings or slide. However two teams managed to buck the trend and improve their position in the league. In the matchup between Ballz Out and More Beer, Chelsea on lanes 41 & 42, Each bowler roll either uncharacteristically well or uncharacteristically poorly, and in some cases it was a combination of both. While Scoot rolled his worst series in more than 6 years, Eric Lynch climbed to a 222 by game 3 to lead his team with a 546 series and take #1 Power Ranked bowler honors. This wasn't nearly enough to offset the damage done by Chadwick Andrews and his 492 series (combined with high games by both Bryan Bay and Cliff Barendsen), giving the Ballz a 3-1 triumph over Chelsea. Neither team moved in the standings, however.921+ vs. The Finger Holes was expected to be a very tough battle, but we learned that while Ken M. Wilson can't close a 10th frame to save his life (or health), he's at least apparently the motivator that brings his teams victories. In Ken's absence, 921+ came nowhere close to their namesake as Brian Coe and Kody Karnes co-led the team with 582 series each. The Finger Holes, led by Phil Schroeder's Most Valuable Bowler-earning 539 series (and assisted by high games from Dennis "Pops" Laube and Aubrey Moren), made unusually quick work of the situation and came away with a 3-1 win. 921+ and the F-Holes trade places in the standings. The men of My Three Sons are getting sick and tired of having to calculate handicap after the fact, but that's exactly what they had to do yet again when Dennis Blake made a return visit to Split It & Hit It. Once the furious math was finished, Carl Goetz's 596 series led him and his progeny to a 3-1 victory, while Matt Bunyard let Split It with a 503 series (and a new personal best game of 203). Split It drops 1 spot to 7th, while My Three Sons continues to be the number 1 show this season. Finally, in what is perhaps the biggest upset of the night, dow at 47&48 the yet-to-all-be-seen-at-the-same-time Pin and Tonics trampled all over the Dixie Stampede. With a 558 series, Aaron Barber led the Tonics, while Ryan Doll's 568 was only enough to get the Stampede 1 win. Pin and Tonics climbs 2 spots in the rankings -- the biggest jump of the night -- while Dixie Stampede drops to... dead last?!?!?The Tournament of Champions kicked off tonight, with Ryan Doll winning Division 1 and Carl Goetz taking 2nd. Division 2 was led by Phil Schroeder with Todd Way taking 2nd. Division 3 was devastated by Eric Lynch, with Matt Bunyard taking 2nd. And Division 4 was won by Michael Smith, with Dan Imperial taking 2nd.Bowlers joining or renewing their membership in The 200 Club tonight include: Eric Lynch (222), Kody Karnes (225), Brian Coe (207), Phil Schroeder (204), Jonathan Vigliaturo (213), Carl Goetz (224, 210), Matt Bunyard (203), and Ryan Doll (200).See you next Tuesday!

Tuesday night was an historic night in GutterAlley as, combined, the league put up a pretty big overall average of 168 for Week #3. Tentatively, five teams have moved around in the league standings but last season's champs refuse to relinquish their icy grasp on first place despite only two games separating the top four teams. The Tournament of Champions seeding is now complete and that will kick off within next week's action. For a breakdown of what all went on, just keep on reading...The results of the matchup between

As we point out every season, Week #2 is always the most volatile of any given session. Not to disappoint, seven of the league's eight teams swapped places in the league standings in the second week shuffle. Average were all over the place with one person raising his 27 while another person dropped theirs 17. If anyone could accurately predict what was going to happen in Week #2 each season we'd hire them on the spot to forecast all kinds of things. After a slow start last week, former champions

The very first night of our 30th season of GutterAlley action is now in the books and the league split it right down the middle with four teams coming away with records of 3-1 while the other half took it on the chin 1-3. Three rookies made their debut – along with one rookie sub – Tuesday night so we'd like to extend a warm welcome to

Well, the summer is wrapping up and that can mean only two things – winter is coming (eventually) and it's time for another session of GutterAlley Bowling! This will be our 30th season. Amazing. This season will feature three new recruits making their debut this season! A special welcome to rookies
The Spring 2014 season officially came to an end Tuesday night with the Finals a mere formality as

The Spring 2014 had two great events take place during Week #14. Firstly, the scrappy band of
The Finals are almost upon us as Week #14 proved to be a quiet one in regards to any switches in the league standings. The league leaders, however, managed to increase their lead from a mere 1.5 games back up to 3.5 over the rest of the league as they try to wrap up the season before the big Finals showdown. Here's how it all played out...In the first matchup of the evening, reigning champs

Twice in GutterAlley's recorded history, the eventual champions were able to lock up the season in Week #13 and just coast the rest of the way with the title already in hand. This season's frontrunners looked all but ready to wrap it up coming out of the position round, having amassed the
Week #12 is now a part of GutterAlley history and the Finals are now less than a month away. A few weeks back the season looked all but wrapped up for the current league leaders but, despite only two teams swapping places in the league standings Tuesday night, the Spring 2014 may still be up for grabs. Across the league tonight, the infamous ScooterMath™

Week #11 is now in the books and, with it, came some surprising results: for the first time since the very beginning of the season, the league leaders are almost within striking distance. Now leading the league by only four and a half games, the pressure is now on to keep the momentum going. Around the league, four of the eight teams swapped places in the league standings while the lanes saw some pretty nice output. Let's get into the details, shall we?When he made his debut last spring, no one could have predicted that

While the world was watching pranks play out right before their very eyes Tuesday, several others took place on the lanes during Week #10 action of the Spring 2014 season. Half the teams in the league swapped places in the standings by bowlers other than the usual suspects. To top off the report, the seemingly invulnerable team at the top of the heap took it on the chin in a surprising upset. Read on, friends...and, we promise, there are no April Fool's jokes in here.In the first matchup of the night, the

With the Spring '14 position round behind us, the schedule reset and everyone faced their opposition from the very first night once again in Week #9. While the league leaders continue to distance themselves from the other seven teams on the roster, the overall output from the league as a whole is currently
The Spring 2014 season is officially now half way complete and it's pretty apparent that the current league leaders are showing no signs of slowing up whatsoever. After amassing an incredible 28-4 record – winning 87.5% of their games so far – Pinterest is openly declaring the second half of the season as a battle for second place amongst everyone else still rolling as they are gunning for

Week #7 is now in the books and every team has faced off against one another. We've seen big games, win streaks, and come-from-behind victories as well as subpar scores, surprising losing streaks, and games lost with the final throw of the 10th frame. All in all, we've had your typical first half of a season leading up to next week's position round. Ready to see how the stage has been set? Read on...In the first matchup of the evening, out of sorts
Week #6 is now in the books and with it came quite the shuffling in the league standings. All but one team found themselves in a new position while the lone foursome that didn't budge extended its lead out ahead of everyone else after an impressive 21-3 start and will easily find themselves on
Going into Week #5, the two teams on top of the league standings were somewhat untested against heavy hitters. No one can claim that now as they found themselves going up against the teams just below them. While one of those teams faltered in their showdown, another one absolutely demolished their competition and extended their lead over everyone in the Spring 2014 season. Big scores, big series, and big wins make up the bulk of this week's recap. The first matchup of the evening featured the debut of a substitute that definitely made his mark right off the bat.

With four weeks now under the league's belt, two teams have jumped off to very impressive starts having amassed win records of 14-2. Right behind them are two other teams sitting at 10-6. The fun truly begins now, though, as all four of these teams are scheduled to face off against one another next week. But, for now, let's see how Week #4 played out and how these teams got to where they are in the standings. After dropping two games last week by single digits,
After a delay last week due to a massive snowstorm hitting the area, GutterAlley action resumed Tuesday night. Collectively our league is getting hotter as 21 of our thirty-two bowlers raised his or her average on Tuesday night during Week #3. To top it off, six teams swapped places in the league standings as things begin to settle down in the Spring 2014 season. The first matchup of the evening pitted
The ever-volatile Week #2 of Gutteralley's latest season proved to be an interesting one as every single bowler – minus those absent or setting an average – either raised of lowered their average. One bowler managed to raise his +25 while another dropped -24 in what has always been the biggest roller coaster week of each and every season. To top it off, six of the eight teams swapped spots in the league standings to cap off the evening. Here's the lowdown...The first matchup of the night pitted
