The Spring 2006 season draws to a close, with I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! officially earning this season's championship title! A stagnated final week resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (164) and series (453) for the women, while Pat Searcy earned this week's high game (241) and series (648) for the men. First up, on lanes 21 & 22: I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! kept grabbing the balls of Bowl Movement. Starring #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Pat Searcy and his above-average 648 series, the Belt split the series with Bowl Movement. Across the ball return, David Codding oversaw Bowl Movement with his 574 as they matched their opponent in wins. I'm Gonna Belt Ya, Sucka! complete in 1st place, while Bowl Movement wind up in 2nd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Bora Bora matched wits with Sweeter Than Yoohoo. Led by Dennis Laube with his above-average 555 series, Bora Bora split the series with Yoohoo. On the adjacent lane, Thomas Lin shined in Yoohoo with his 565 as they matched their opponent in wins. Bora Bora close out in 3rd place, while Yoohoo go home with 4th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Split Happens spent a romantic evening with Guttersluts. Despite the strength of James Long with his below-average 471 series, Split Happens accomplished only 1 win against Guttersluts. In the meantime, Dana Babler commanded Guttersluts with her commanding 411 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Split Happens end in 5th place, while Guttersluts end up with 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Yo Mama chucked gutter balls with Tatonka. Demonstrating the prowess of Most Valuable Bowler Jason Caton and his remarkable 510 series, Yo Mama celebrated a clean sweep over Tatonka. Countering this, Will Jeter showed off in Tatonka with his above-average 480 despite his team getting swept. Yo Mama finish in 7th place, while Tatonka cross the finish line in 8th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (216), David Codding (224), Ken M. Wilson (215), Pat Searcy (215,241), Seth Gunderson (222), and Thomas Lin (205,215)
After a hard fought season, the Tournament of Champions was won tonight by Dennis Laube (Division 2),
with landing in second place. Dennis will pocket the nice first-place pot,
while will take away the second-place pot. Congratulations!
