The eleventh week of Fall 2007 saw four teams climb in the standings, while five teams slipped. Freda Schroeder and Jennifer Seefeldt both tied for this week's high game for the women with a 191, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 543. As for the men, Don Glasscock snagged this week's high game with a 255, and high series was earned by Cory Chorpenning with a 656. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 3 & 4: Dios Mios waged a heated competition against Your Mom. Even though highlighted by the skills of Bill Krejci with his below-average 526 series, Dios Mios got swept by Your Mom. Across the ball return, Ryan Doll drew the spotlight in Your Mom with his above-average 572 as they swept the competition. Dios Mios plummet 3 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Your Mom moves 1 spot to 8th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Cannonbelt Run sparred with Bad Newz Kennels. Despite the strength of Seth Gunderson with his below-average 450 series, Cannonbelt accomplished only 1 win against the Kennels. Meanwhile, Freda Schroeder oversaw the Kennels with her above-average 543 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Cannonbelt Run drops 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the Kennels jump 2 spots to 3rd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Seriously Handicapped kept stealing sips of beer from Seefeldt the Glasscock. Topped by #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Tyler Hilker and his powerful 613 series, the Handicapped collected 3 wins against the Glasscock. In the midst of this, Brian Eye took the lead in the Glasscock with his 597 despite his team notching only a single win. Seriously Handicapped remains in 10th place, while the Glasscock sinks 1 spot to 2nd.
On lanes 25 & 26: Ebowla traded lane malfunctions with Sh!t, I Don't Know. Despite being led by Travis Kleiner with his below-average 369 series, Ebowla got swept by I Don't Know. On the other half of the score sheet, #1 Head-to-Head Cory Chorpenning shined in I Don't Know with his above-average 656 as they swept the competition. Ebowla drops 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while I Don't Know jumps 3 spots to 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Split Happens accepted a challenge by The GameCox. Notwithstanding the leadership of James Long with his breathtaking 548 series, Split Happens accomplished only 1 win against the GameCox. On the other side, Jason Carpio reigned supreme in the GameCox with his miraculous 577 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Split Happens drop 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while the GameCox moves 1 spot to 6th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Brian Eye (240), Cory Chorpenning (207,225,224), Don Glasscock (255), James Long (221), Jason Carpio (214), Ken M. Wilson (215), and Tyler Hilker (234)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Nobody claimed victory in Division 1 (though Steve Kiernan came closest), while Jason Carpio creamed Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Scott Murdock came closest), and Janelle (Laube) Lamar conquered Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Amanda Cox Jeter (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Duncan Ferber dominates Division 1; Nik Domann and Tyler Hilker are both in the driver's seat (on each other's laps?) in Division 2 in a tie; David Parre governs Division 3; and Janelle (Laube) Lamar and Travis Kleiner hold the reins in Division 4 in a tie.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 9th-place Ebowla (hcp 199) will chill with 2nd-place Seefeldt the Glasscock. Ebowla is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Glasscock is forecast to drop their average a bit even as they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 4th-place Cannonbelt Run will compete against 7th-place Split Happens (hcp 28). Cannonbelt might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Split Happens ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 3rd-place Bad Newz Kennels will throw some gutter balls with 6th-place The GameCox (hcp 70). The Kennels will likely maintain their current strength as they just barely miss sweeping the series; while the GameCox will probably hold steady as they just barely avoid getting swept.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 8th-place Your Mom will face 10th-place Seriously Handicapped (hcp 28). Your Mom might perform well and win the series; while the Handicapped ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 5th-place Dios Mios (hcp 73) will battle 1st-place Sh!t, I Don't Know. Dios Mios are predicted to roll a little low and get swept; while I Don't Know is anticipated to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
