Up In The Air

Posted by ScooterJ November 29, 2016 Fall 2016, Week 15 View Score Sheets

All bowling scores are in, and the headline for this write-up doesn't need to change! After ruling the roost all season, Vote JV is now in a tie with the team that is trying very hard to live up to the namesake of its acronymous name. It litterally comes down to who wins next week!

First up, on lanes 7 & 8: Ray & Stevie spent a romantic evening with W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E!. With Ray & Stevie forfeiting, all W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E! needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. Meanwhile, led by Landon Cline and his 573 series, W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E! secured a clean sweep. Ray & Stevie remains in 8th place. W.A.Q.P.T.G.B.T.E! remains in 2nd by total pins, but is now tied for 1st place.

The Unclearable PermaCurse(tm). Way to go, Barber.

On lanes 9 & 10: Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! had a rendezvous with Terra Bowl. Now, there's a little bit of drama here. Because of a computer error at the bowling alley's end, all parties left believing the series had been split. However, the bowling alley's computer has Aubrey's total pins incorrect by 19 pins -- a fact verified after all the games were rolled when Scoot sat in the back office and went through all of the scoresheets -- so the real handicap was 1 pin differemt than what was shown on the scoreboard. Consequently, Total Pins turned out to actually be a tie. Led by Freda Schroeder and her 533 series, Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! managed only 1.5 wins against Terra Bowl. Meanwhile, led by Tim Deddens and his 427 series, Terra Bowl secured 2.5 wins. Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 5th place, while Terra Bowl remains in 6th. In an epic bit of comedy, since they were losing game 3 anyway Dennis Cummings deliberately threw a gutter or two to ensure that Ben Spencer would make it to the championship round of the Tournament. What he didn't realize, though, was that Ben already had his spot locked after Michael Smith was still unable to roll due to an ankle injury. So if Dennis hadn't done that, his team would have won total pins outright. :)

Alternate JV from the Parallel Leagiverse is Bigger, Badder, Buffer.

On lanes 11 & 12... or, more technically, on lanes 11 & 12 & 3 & 4: Stephen Hawking's Fight Club sat down for some time-shifted adventures with a post-bowling Vote JV HoF 2016. Led by Michael Gordon and his 598 series (and assisted by a new personal high game of 235 by Dustin Schemlts), Stephen Hawking's Fight Club split the series with Vote JV HoF 2016. Meanwhile, led by Carl Goetz and his 632 series, Vote JV HoF 2016 ended in a stalemate. Stephen Hawking's Fight Club remains in 3rd place, while Vote JV HoF 2016 remains in 1st. Though there was no way for Vote JV to clinch the title this week, by splitting this series they go into the final round in a dead-even tie!

Finally, down on lanes 13 & 14: O'Dell Lawn Service faced off against a forfeiting (due to injuries) Split It & Hit It. Led by Aaron Barber and his 656 series, O'Dell Lawn Service secured a clean sweep over Split It & Hit It. With Split It & Hit It forfeiting, all O'Dell Lawn Service needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be in the cards. O'Dell Lawn Service remains in 4th place, while Split It & Hit It remains in 7th.

In addition to next week being the league championship, it's also the Tournament of Champions championship. The top two bowlers in each division will compete next week for CASH. The starting lineup will be Carl Goetz vs Ben Spencer, Matt O'Dell vs Sean Miller, Jeremy Gregory vs Russell Bingham, and Landon Cline vs Scott Murdock.

Bowlers entering The 200 Club so far this week include: Aaron Barber (244,247), Carl Goetz (265), Dennis Laube (218), Dustin Schmeltz (235), Freda Schroeder (201), Jeremy Gregory (225), John Boren (205,202), Michael Gordon (212), Michael Mead (221), and Seth Gunderson (245)

See you next week!

"Get your butthole ready!"

(followed later by...)

"I just fisted Scoot's butthole."

AJ Hofmann. Part 1, to Scoot, after getting his first ever erection watching Aaron Barber roll a 244 game and getting overly excited about the humping that might ensue. The second quote came later in Game 3, when AJ himself got a turkey but he had to improvise after his Cialis wore off.
