Spring 2009 Week 3 Robo-RecapThe third week of Spring 2009 saw five teams climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Janelle (Laube) Lamar landed this week's high game for the women with a 183, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 493. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 227, and high series was earned by Jason Carpio with a 600. And the Tournament of Champions divisions are now set, ready for one-on-one action to begin next week! Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Chicks With Balls kept grabbing the balls of Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Although topped by Janelle (Laube) Lamar with her 412 series, the Chicks accomplished only 1 win against Schlitz. While that was going down, #1 Power-Ranked Bob Brunker laid down the law in Schlitz with his terrific 589 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Chicks With Balls plummet 2 spots in the standings to 8th place, while Schlitz jumps 2 spots to 3rd.

week3On lanes 21 & 22: Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends tussled with WWJB. In spite of the prowess of Drew Eldridge with his above-average 442 series, Wonder Friends got swept by WWJB. On the other side, AJ Taylor commanded WWJB with his above-average 403 as they swept the competition. Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends plummet 4 spots in the standings to 5th place, while WWJB jumps 4 spots to 6th.

On lanes 23 & 24: XXX alternated between bowling and dry humping No Pinheads. Notwithstanding the leadership of Dave Winger with his below-average 394 series, XXX accomplished only 1 win against No Pinheads. Countering this, Aubrey Moren shined in No Pinheads with his below-average 488 as his team took the series with 3 wins. XXX plummets 2 spots in the standings to 10th place, while No Pinheads move 1 spot to 2nd.

On lanes 25 & 26: Chico's Bail Bonds did battle with Sh!t, Another Season. Starring Most Valuable Bowler Carl Goetz and his astounding 581 series, Chico's collected 3 wins against Another Season. Across the ball return, Cory Chorpenning dominated Another Season with his below-average 596 (with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler ) despite his team notching only a single win. Chico's Bail Bonds leap 1 spot in the standings to 1st place, while Another Season plunges 2 spots to 9th.

Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Turkey Sandwich couldn't stop inappropriately groping Rule 6B. Highlighting the skills of Jason Carpio with his 600 series, Turkey Sandwich collected 3 wins against Rule 6B. On the adjacent lane, Brett Schroeder took the lead in Rule 6B with his phenomenal 472 despite his team notching only a single win. Turkey Sandwich leaps 2 spots in the standings to 7th place, while Rule 6B remains in 4th.

Bowlers lounging at The 200 Club include: Bob Brunker (201,219), Carl Goetz (227), Cory Chorpenning (200,215), Duncan Ferber (212), Jason Carpio (210,216), and Ken M. Wilson (214)

A new personal high game was set tonight by AJ Taylor (154, previous best 151). In addition, a new personal best series was rolled by AJ Taylor (403, previous best 395).

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 19&20, 5th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends (hcp 134) will tussle with 2nd-place No Pinheads. Wonder Friends are expected to perform well, but split the series with No Pinheads; while No Pinheads are forecast to drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
  • Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You (hcp 72) will roll against 1st-place Chico's Bail Bonds. Schlitz might perform well and win the series; while Chico's ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 66) will share a couple of pitchers with 4th-place Rule 6B. The Chicks will likely maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Rule 6B will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Next up, on lanes 25&26, 6th-place WWJB (hcp 67) will face 7th-place Turkey Sandwich. WWJB might perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Turkey Sandwich ought to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Finally, on lanes 27&28, 10th-place XXX (hcp 156) will battle 9th-place Sh!t, Another Season. XXX is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Another Season is anticipated to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
