The Spring 2008 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (222) and series (505) for the women, while Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (277) and series (616) for the men. First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Ebowla traded lane malfunctions with Sofa King Good. Even though highlighted by the skills of Chris Lewis with his 443 series, Ebowla accomplished only 1 win against Sofa King. In the midst of this, Don Glasscock oversaw Sofa King with his 604 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Ebowla gets underway in 8th place, while Sofa King gets going with 2nd.
On lanes 21 & 22: You Don't Know Sh!t had a rendezvous with Dios Mios. Demonstrating the prowess of Duncan Ferber with his 616 series, with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler , Don't Know Sh!t collected 3 wins against Dios Mios. In the meantime, #1 Power-Ranked Bill Krejci called the shots for Dios Mios with his 605 despite his team notching only a single win. You Don't Know Sh!t leaves the gate in 1st place, while Dios Mios begin in 6th.
On lanes 23 & 24: It's Britney, Bitch did battle with 3 Dudes and a Doll. Though reinforced by Dave Winger with his 454 series, Britney accomplished only 1 win against 3 Dudes and a Doll. Countering this, Ryan Doll took the lead in 3 Dudes and a Doll with his 576 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler John Richardson) as his team took the series with 3 wins. It's Britney, Bitch starts out in 10th place, while 3 Dudes and a Doll starts off with 4th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Split Happens celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Bad Newz Kennels. Though featuring Ryan Schooley with his 450 series, Split Happens accomplished only 1 win against the Kennels. Meanwhile, Freda Schroeder laid down the law in the Kennels with her 505 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Split Happens begins the season in 7th place, while the Kennels get rolling in 3rd.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Dr. Strangelanes, Or How I Learned To Stop Opening And Earn The Belt alternated between bowling and dry humping ?. Blessed by Nik Domann with his 493 series, Dr. Strangelanes collected 3 wins against ?. Across the ball return, John Coleman reigned supreme in ? with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 462 despite his team notching only a single win. Dr. Strangelanes, Or How I Learned To Stop Opening And Earn The Belt 5th place, while ? 9th.
