Spring 2007 Week 7 Robo-RecapThe seventh week of Spring 2007 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and three rolled new personal high games. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (195) and series (551) for the women. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 258, and high series was earned by Pat Searcy with a 672. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 15 & 16: X9XX shared a platter of cheese sticks with Those 4 Bowlers. Starring Dennis Laube with his below-average 461 series, X9XX split the series with 4 Bowlers. Concurrently, Seth Gunderson reigned supreme in 4 Bowlers with his 503 as they matched their opponent in wins. X9XX remains in 4th place, while 4 Bowlers remain in 5th.

week7On lanes 17 & 18: Guttersluts spent a romantic evening with King Pins. Topped by John Boren with his 529 series, Guttersluts split the series with King Pins. On the flipside, Duncan Ferber ruled King Pins with his below-average 489 as they matched their opponent in wins. Guttersluts remains in 3rd place, while King Pins remain in 10th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Oily Balls matched wits with Unstoppabowl. With the strength of Pat Searcy with his stunning 672 series, Oily Balls collected 3 wins against Unstoppabowl. Simultaneously, Cory Chorpenning drew the spotlight in Unstoppabowl with his 564 despite his team notching only a single win. Oily Balls leap 1 spot in the standings to 1st place, while Unstoppabowl sinks 1 spot to 2nd.

On lanes 21 & 22: Frickin' Ten Pin had a delightful time with Doll's Balls. Reinforced by Carl Goetz with his breathtaking 640 series, with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler , Ten Pin split the series with Doll's Balls. As for the opposition, Ryan Doll oversaw Doll's Balls with his above-average 528 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Ben Lee) as they matched their opponent in wins. Frickin' Ten Pin drops 1 spot in the standings to 7th place, while Doll's Balls remain in 8th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: T.B.D. couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Churn and Burn. Notwithstanding the leadership of Nik Domann with his above-average 551 series, T.B.D. accomplished only 1 win against Churn and Burn. On the adjacent lane, #1 Power-Ranked Jason Carpio shined in Churn and Burn with his outstanding 629 as his team took the series with 3 wins. T.B.D. remains in 9th place, while Churn and Burn moves 1 spot to 6th.

New personal high games were set tonight by Kris Hiestand (184, previous best 175), Phil Schroeder (231, previous best 225), and Ben Lee (167, previous best 156). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Phil Schroeder (606, previous best 532) and Ben Lee (419, previous best 405).

The 258 rolled by Carl Goetz is the new 9th-best game in league history!


In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz decimated Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Jason Carpio came closest). Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Kris Hiestand came closest), and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Kendall Kukowski came closest). Finally, Phil Schroeder (Division 2) mopped up this week's Interdivisional bracket.Finally, Deena Slinkard (Division 3) mopped up this week's Interdivisional bracket.Finally, Justin Comfort (Division 4) mopped up this week's Interdivisional bracket. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy reigns over Division 1; Phil Schroeder tops Division 2; Deena Slinkard holds the reins in Division 3; and Kendall Kukowski dominates Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 15&16, 8th-place Doll's Balls will share a couple of pitchers with 10th-place King Pins (hcp 52). Doll's Balls are expected to perform well and win the series; while King Pins are forecast to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 17&18, 6th-place Churn and Burn (hcp 69) will spend some quality time with 1st-place Oily Balls. Churn and Burn might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Oily Balls ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Then, over on lanes 19&20, 4th-place X9XX (hcp 28) will tussle with 7th-place Frickin' Ten Pin. X9XX will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Ten Pin will probably raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Next up, on lanes 21&22, 9th-place T.B.D. (hcp 24) will hang out with 5th-place Those 4 Bowlers. T.B.D. might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while 4 Bowlers ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 23&24, 3rd-place Guttersluts (hcp 9) will roll against 2nd-place Unstoppabowl. Guttersluts are predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Unstoppabowl is anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
