The Spring 2007 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. One bowler set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder landed this week's high game for the women with a 170, and women's high series was bagged by Angela Bradford with a 465. As for the men, Carl Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 234, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz and Pat Searcy, who tied with a 595. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Oily Balls couldn't stop inappropriately groping T.B.D.. Featuring Pat Searcy with his 595 series, Oily Balls celebrated a clean sweep over T.B.D.. Simultaneously, Steve Kiernan reigned supreme in T.B.D. with his 528 despite his team getting swept. Oily Balls gets underway in 1st place, while T.B.D. begins in 10th.
On lanes 17 & 18: Doll's Balls spent some quality time with Those 4 Bowlers. Topped by Ryan Doll with his 487 series, Doll's Balls split the series with 4 Bowlers. Concurrently, Seth Gunderson called the shots for 4 Bowlers with his 470 as they matched their opponent in wins. Doll's Balls starts out in 5th place, while 4 Bowlers start off with 6th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Unstoppabowl entered a showdown to the death with X9XX. Led by #1 Head-to-Head Cory Chorpenning and his 584 series, Unstoppabowl split the series with X9XX. On the other side, Dave Hickerson mastered X9XX with his 424 as they matched their opponent in wins. Unstoppabowl leaves the gate in 4th place, while X9XX gets rolling in 7th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Guttersluts kept stealing sips of beer from Churn and Burn. Demonstrating the prowess of John Boren with his 518 series, Guttersluts collected 2.5 wins against Churn and Burn. While that was going down, Jason Carpio ruled Churn and Burn with his 502 despite his team losing the matchup with only 1.5 victories. Guttersluts begins with 3rd place, while Churn and Burn gets going with 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: King Pins shared a platter of cheese sticks with Frickin' Ten Pin. In spite of top-billing by Daniel Bolton with his 376 series, King Pins accomplished only 1 win against Ten Pin. Conversely, #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Carl Goetz drew the spotlight in Ten Pin with his 595 as his team took the series with 3 wins. King Pins 9th place, while Ten Pin 2nd.
