The eleventh week of Fall 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (187) and series (453) for the women, while Thomas Lin earned this week's high game (237) and series (646) for the men. First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Atomic Goo couldn't stop inappropriately groping Bowlers of Mass Confusion. In spite of top-billing by Phil Schroeder with his 415 series, Atomic Goo got swept by Mass Confusion. On the other half of the score sheet, Corey Weinfurt shined in Mass Confusion with his above-average 497 as they swept the competition. Atomic Goo plummets 2 spots in the standings to 6th place, while Mass Confusion remains in 2nd.

On lanes 17 & 18: Gutter Minds waged a heated competition against Theee Beeelt. While headlined by Pat Searcy with his 573 series, Gutter Minds got swept by Theee Beeelt. Meanwhile, Nik Domann mastered Theee Beeelt with his below-average 422 as they swept the competition. Gutter Minds remains in 8th place, while Theee Beeelt moves 1 spot to 4th.

On lanes 19 & 20: Anchors Aweigh! had a rendezvous with Bowl me Ishmael!. Showcasing Most Valuable Bowler Eric Lynch and his amazing 548 series, the Anchors split the series with Ishmael. Concurrently, Michael Basham drew the spotlight in Ishmael with his staggering 463 as they matched their opponent in wins. Anchors Aweigh! remains in 1st place, while Ishmael remains in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Spare Change chucked gutter balls with Wolverines. Regardless of the star power of Demond Robinson with his 518 series, Spare Change got swept by the Wolverines. Across the ball return, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Thomas Lin ruled the Wolverines with his fantastic 646 as they swept the competition. Spare Change remains in 7th place, while the Wolverines move 1 spot to 5th.

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Thomas Lin (646, previous best 593).

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Eric Lynch routed Division 1, while Thomas Lin claimed victory in Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Andee Weinfurt came closest), and Dennis Pruitt rolled his ass to the top of Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz tops Division 1; Pat Searcy calls the shots for Division 2; Seth Gunderson dominates Division 3; and Dennis Pruitt holds the reins in Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

• First, on lanes 15&16, 1st-place Anchors Aweigh! will test their mettle against 7th-place Spare Change (hcp 68). The Anchors are expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Spare Change is forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
• Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Bowl me Ishmael! (hcp 76) will chill with 5th-place Wolverines. Ishmael might perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Wolverines ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
• Then, over on lanes 19&20, 6th-place Atomic Goo (estimated hcp 97) will challenge 8th-place Gutter Minds. Atomic Goo will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Gutter Minds will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
• Finally, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion will meet with 4th-place Theee Beeelt (hcp 24). Mass Confusion is predicted to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Theee Beeelt; while Theee Beeelt is anticipated to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
