The eleventh week of Fall 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (187) and series (453) for the women, while Thomas Lin earned this week's high game (237) and series (646) for the men. First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Atomic Goo sparred with Bowlers of Mass Confusion. Even though highlighted by the skills of Phil Schroeder with his 415 series, Atomic Goo got swept by Mass Confusion. On the other side, Corey Weinfurt took the lead in Mass Confusion with his above-average 497 as they swept the competition. Atomic Goo plummets 2 spots in the standings to 6th place, while Mass Confusion remains in 2nd.
On lanes 17 & 18: Gutter Minds spent a romantic evening with Theee Beeelt. Though featuring Pat Searcy with his 573 series, Gutter Minds got swept by Theee Beeelt. On the other half of the score sheet, Nik Domann laid down the law in Theee Beeelt with his below-average 422 as they swept the competition. Gutter Minds remains in 8th place, while Theee Beeelt moves 1 spot to 4th.
On lanes 19 & 20: Anchors Aweigh! chucked gutter balls with Bowl me Ishmael!. Demonstrating the prowess of Most Valuable Bowler Eric Lynch and his astonishing 548 series, the Anchors split the series with Ishmael. Countering this, Michael Basham commanded Ishmael with his fantastic 463 as they matched their opponent in wins. Anchors Aweigh! remains in 1st place, while Ishmael remains in 3rd.
Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Spare Change had a rendezvous with Wolverines. Though reinforced by Demond Robinson with his 518 series, Spare Change got swept by the Wolverines. In the meantime, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Thomas Lin mastered the Wolverines with his terrific 646 as they swept the competition. Spare Change remains in 7th place, while the Wolverines move 1 spot to 5th.

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Thomas Lin (646, previous best 593). The 237 rolled by Thomas Lin is tied for the 8th-best men's game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Eric Lynch creamed Division 1, while Thomas Lin claimed victory in Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Andee Weinfurt came closest), and Dennis Pruitt creamed Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz runs the show in Division 1; Pat Searcy holds the reins in Division 2; Seth Gunderson dominates Division 3; and Dennis Pruitt is in the driver's seat in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 1st-place Anchors Aweigh! will face 7th-place Spare Change (hcp 68). The Anchors are expected to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Spare Change is forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 3rd-place Bowl me Ishmael! (hcp 76) will share a couple of pitchers with 5th-place Wolverines. Ishmael might perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Wolverines ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Then, over on lanes 19&20, 6th-place Atomic Goo (estimated hcp 97) will meet with 8th-place Gutter Minds. Atomic Goo will likely have a bit of an off night and get swept; while Gutter Minds will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion will battle 4th-place Theee Beeelt (hcp 24). Mass Confusion is predicted to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Theee Beeelt; while Theee Beeelt is anticipated to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
