Fall 2002 Week 8 Robo-RecapWe are now halfway through the Fall 2002 season, so time is running out for those teams who want a shot at the championship to position themselves. The eighth week saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (153) and series (433) for the women. As for the men, Bob Brunker snagged this week's high game with a 210, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 569. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Top Guns kept grabbing the balls of GRRR. Featuring Most Valuable Bowler Bob Brunker and his 529 series, Top Guns celebrated a clean sweep over GRRR. Meanwhile, Byron Hester showed off in GRRR with his 395 despite his team getting swept. Top Guns remains in 1st place, while GRRR remains in 6th.

week8On lanes 19 & 20: Team 5 matched wits with Pop Gunns. Highlighting the skills of David Codding with his above-average 519 series, with props to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Bob Brunker, Team 5 collected 3 wins against Pop Gunns. In the midst of this, Carl Goetz called the shots for Pop Gunns with his above-average 569 despite his team notching only a single win. Team 5 remains in 2nd place, while Pop Gunns remain in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Team 6 waged a heated competition against UnaBowlers. Headlined by Nik Domann with his breathtaking 475 series, Team 6 celebrated a clean sweep over the UnaBowlers. Conversely, Corey Weinfurt took the lead in the UnaBowlers with his above-average 474 despite his team getting swept. Team 6 leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the UnaBowlers sink 1 spot to 5th.

Bowlers enjoying a guest admission to The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (206), Bob Brunker (210), Carl Goetz (208), David Codding (206), and Pat Searcy (201)

A new personal high game was set tonight by Jerry Krall (180, previous best 167). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Tracey Robertson (372, previous best 338) and Jerry Krall (495, previous best 442).

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 17&18, 4th-place Team 6 will throw some gutter balls with 3rd-place Pop Gunns. Team 6 is expected to perform weakly, but split the series with Pop Gunns; while Pop Gunns are forecast to see their team average take a dive while they keep the series tied.
  • Moving to lanes 19&20, 5th-place UnaBowlers will face 6th-place GRRR. The UnaBowlers might watch their averages take a plunge, but split the series with GRRR; while GRRR ought to see their team average take a dive while they keep the series tied.
  • Finally, on lanes 21&22, 2nd-place Team 5 will challenge 1st-place Top Guns. Team 5 is predicted to have their averages plummet, but split the series with Top Guns; while Top Guns are anticipated to see their team average take a dive while they keep the series tied.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
