The tenth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Freda Schroeder and Janelle (Laube) Lamar both tied for this week's high game for the women with a 165, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 447. As for the men, Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (233) and series (601). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Top Guns tussled with Canned Crabs. Even though highlighted by the skills of Pat Searcy with his above-average 589 series, Top Guns accomplished only 1 win against the Crabs. Across the ball return, Eric Lynch showed off in the Crabs with his below-average 461 (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Ray Haynes, as well as #1 Head-to-Head ) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Top Guns drop 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the Crabs remain in 7th.
On lanes 19 & 20: D-Day did battle with When Push Comes To Shove. Although topped by Demond Robinson with his above-average 540 series, D-Day accomplished only 1 win against the Shovers. Simultaneously, Dennis Laube laid down the law in the Shovers with his above-average 496 as his team took the series with 3 wins. D-Day remains in 1st place, while the Shovers move 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Spanked couldn't stop inappropriately groping Hulk Smash!. Reinforced by #1 Head-to-Head Bill Krejci and his astounding 588 series, Spanked celebrated a clean sweep over the Hulk. On the other side, Carl Goetz called the shots for the Hulk with his above-average 601 despite his team getting swept. Spanked remains in 8th place, while the Hulk sinks 1 spot to 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: The Good Sons alternated between bowling and dry humping Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Featuring Steve Robinson with his dazzling 521 series, the Sons split the series with Mass Destruction. On the other half of the score sheet, Corey Weinfurt mastered Mass Destruction with his 481 as they matched their opponent in wins. The Good Sons leap 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Mass Destruction remains in 2nd.

A new personal high game was set tonight by Carl Goetz (233, previous best 223). The 233 rolled by Carl Goetz is tied for the 8th-best men's game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Bill Krejci claimed victory in Division 1, while Dennis Laube topped Division 2. Steve Robinson swept Division 3, and Ray Haynes staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy leads Division 1; Ken M. Wilson governs Division 2; Shannon Myers is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Marca Robinson dominates Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 17&18, 6th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 78) will tussle with 3rd-place When Push Comes To Shove. The Hulk is expected to perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Shovers are forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 4th-place Top Guns will face 5th-place The Good Sons (hcp 128). Top Guns might perform well and sweep the series; while the Sons ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 1st-place D-Day will share a couple of pitchers with 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 6). D-Day will likely roll decently, but split the series with Mass Destruction; while Mass Destruction will probably raise their average while they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Spanked will test their mettle against 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 112). Spanked is predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while the Crabs are anticipated to raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
