The tenth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Freda Schroeder and Janelle (Laube) Lamar both tied for this week's high game for the women with a 165, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 447. As for the men, Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (233) and series (601). Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Top Guns alternated between bowling and dry humping Canned Crabs. Notwithstanding the leadership of Pat Searcy with his above-average 589 series, Top Guns accomplished only 1 win against the Crabs. In the meantime, Eric Lynch commanded the Crabs with his below-average 461 (along with kudos to #1 Power-Ranked and Most Valuable Bowler Ray Haynes, as well as #1 Head-to-Head ) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Top Guns drop 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while the Crabs remain in 7th.
On lanes 19 & 20: D-Day entered a showdown to the death with When Push Comes To Shove. Regardless of the star power of Demond Robinson with his above-average 540 series, D-Day accomplished only 1 win against the Shovers. In the midst of this, Dennis Laube mastered the Shovers with his above-average 496 as his team took the series with 3 wins. D-Day remains in 1st place, while the Shovers move 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Spanked spent a romantic evening with Hulk Smash!. Led by #1 Head-to-Head Bill Krejci and his remarkable 588 series, Spanked celebrated a clean sweep over the Hulk. Conversely, Carl Goetz oversaw the Hulk with his above-average 601 despite his team getting swept. Spanked remains in 8th place, while the Hulk sinks 1 spot to 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: The Good Sons accepted a challenge by Bowlers of Mass Destruction. Highlighting the skills of Steve Robinson with his stunning 521 series, the Sons split the series with Mass Destruction. On the other side, Corey Weinfurt shined in Mass Destruction with his 481 as they matched their opponent in wins. The Good Sons leap 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Mass Destruction remains in 2nd.

A new personal high game was set tonight by Carl Goetz (233, previous best 223). The 233 rolled by Carl Goetz is tied for the 8th-best men's game in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Bill Krejci staked a claim for the Iron Throne in Division 1, while Dennis Laube creamed Division 2. Steve Robinson claimed victory in Division 3, and Ray Haynes eradicated Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy dominates Division 1; Ken M. Wilson calls the shots for Division 2; Shannon Myers leads Division 3; and Marca Robinson governs Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 17&18, 6th-place Hulk Smash! (hcp 78) will share a couple of pitchers with 3rd-place When Push Comes To Shove. The Hulk is expected to perform well, yet still manage to get swept; while the Shovers are forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 4th-place Top Guns will spend some quality time with 5th-place The Good Sons (hcp 128). Top Guns might perform well and sweep the series; while the Sons ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 1st-place D-Day will meet with 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 6). D-Day will likely roll decently, but split the series with Mass Destruction; while Mass Destruction will probably raise their average while they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Spanked will challenge 7th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 112). Spanked is predicted to perform well and sweep the series; while the Crabs are anticipated to raise their average even as they endure a rough night.
