The Fall 2004 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The eighth week saw one team climb in the standings, while four teams slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (183) and series (464) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (235) and series (592) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Recreation Intoxication tussled with The Belt Strikes Back. Although blessed by Bob Brunker with his above-average 550 series, Recreation accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. In the midst of this, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Nik Domann guided the Belt with his above-average 565 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Recreation Intoxication drops 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while the Belt sinks 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers traded lane malfunctions with Paul Hamms. In spite of top-billing by Dennis Laube with his 492 series, the Ninjas accomplished only 1 win against the Hamms. Meanwhile, Bill Krejci showed off in the Hamms with his 550 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Mark McClendon) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers plummet 4 spots in the standings to 7th place, while the Hamms remain in 4th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Bowlkake celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with A Solid No. 2. Featuring Ken M. Wilson with his above-average 592 series, Bowlkake split the series with No. 2. On the other side, Corey Weinfurt dominated No. 2 with his above-average 559 as they matched their opponent in wins. Bowlkake remains in 5th place, while No. 2 remains in 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Die Schlag-Maschinen alternated between bowling and dry humping Ashley Razabacks. Although topped by Amanda Schulte with her above-average 374 series, Die Schlag-Maschinen accomplished only 1 win against the Razabacks. While that was going down, Stefan Paz mastered the Razabacks with his 447 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Die Schlag-Maschinen drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while the Razabacks jump 7 spots to 1st.

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Andee Weinfurt (464, previous best 463).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Bob Brunker creamed Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Jason Carpio came closest). Kris Hiestand crushed Division 3, and Ray Haynes topped Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy runs the show in Division 1; Nik Domann leads Division 2; Mike Killion dominates Division 3; and Ray Haynes is in the driver's seat in Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 4th-place Paul Hamms will compete against 8th-place Die Schlag-Maschinen (hcp 64). The Hamms are expected to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Die Schlag-Maschinen; while Die Schlag-Maschinen is forecast to raise their average while they keep the series tied.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 7th-place Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers (hcp 8) will share a couple of pitchers with 1st-place Ashley Razabacks. The Ninjas might perform well and win the series; while the Razabacks ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 6th-place A Solid No. 2 (hcp 28) will socialize with 2nd-place Recreation Intoxication. No. 2 will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Recreation will probably hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 5th-place Bowlkake will roll against 3rd-place The Belt Strikes Back (hcp 14). Bowlkake is predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Belt is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
