Fall 2004 Week 9 Robo-RecapThe ninth week of Fall 2004 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Two bowlers set a new personal best series, and two rolled new personal high games. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (193) and series (541) for the women, while Bill Krejci earned this week's high game (267) and series (595) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Paul Hamms kept stealing sips of beer from Die Schlag-Maschinen. Demonstrating the prowess of Bill Krejci with his above-average 595 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Mark McClendon, the Hamms celebrated a clean sweep over Die Schlag-Maschinen. On the other half of the score sheet, Amanda Schulte took the lead in Die Schlag-Maschinen with her exceptional 425 despite her team getting swept. Paul Hamms leap 2 spots in the standings to 2nd place, while Die Schlag-Maschinen remains in 8th.

This was done rather often this week by people we wouldn't normally expect. On lanes 21 & 22: Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers couldn't stop undressing with their eyes the members of Ashley Razabacks. Despite being led by Dennis Laube with his below-average 446 series, the Ninjas accomplished only 1 win against the Razabacks. On the adjacent lane, Stefan Paz reigned supreme in the Razabacks with his 462 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers remains in 7th place, while the Razabacks remain in 1st.

On lanes 23 & 24: A Solid No. 2 shared a platter of cheese sticks with Recreation Intoxication. Highlighting the skills of Corey Weinfurt with his 513 series, with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked Andee Weinfurt, No. 2 collected 3 wins against Recreation . While that was going down, Bob Brunker shined in Recreation with his 542 (with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler ) despite his team notching only a single win. A Solid No. 2 leaps 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Recreation plunges 2 spots to 4th.

Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Bowlkake sparred with The Belt Strikes Back. In spite of top-billing by Justin Strelow with his above-average 558 series, Bowlkake accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. Countering this, Demond Robinson guided the Belt with his above-average 572 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bowlkake drops 1 spot in the standings to 6th place, while the Belt remains in 3rd.

Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hottub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: Bill Krejci (267), Bob Brunker (203), Demond Robinson (211), Ken M. Wilson (224), and Nik Domann (246)

New personal high games were set tonight by Nik Domann (246, previous best 213) and Bill Krejci (267, previous best 236). In addition, new personal best series were rolled by Bill Krejci (595, previous best 592) and Andee Weinfurt (490, previous best 464).

Angela Bradford claimed the season's women's high series with her 541. In addition, Bill Krejci nabbed this season's men's high game with his 267.

The 267 rolled by Bill Krejci is the new 2nd-best game in league history!
The 541 rolled by Angela Bradford is the new 10th-best women's series in league history!

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Bill Krejci ruled Division 1, while Jason Carpio clobbered Division 2. Amanda Schulte eradicated Division 3, and Ray Haynes whipped Division 4. In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy governs Division 1; Jason Carpio reigns over Division 2; Mike Killion, Janelle (Laube) Lamar, and Amanda Schulte lead Division 3 in a tie; and Ray Haynes dominates Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:
  • First, on lanes 19&20, 3rd-place The Belt Strikes Back (hcp 14) will hang out with 4th-place Recreation Intoxication. The Belt is expected to perform well and sweep the series; while Recreation is forecast to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
  • Moving to lanes 21&22, 6th-place Bowlkake will compete against 5th-place A Solid No. 2 (estimated hcp 68). Bowlkake might maintain their current strength as they win the series; while No. 2 ought to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
  • Then, over on lanes 23&24, 2nd-place Paul Hamms will match wits with 7th-place Real Ultimate Ninja Bowlers (hcp 12). The Hamms will likely roll decently, but split the series with the Ninjas; while the Ninjas will probably raise their average while they keep the series tied.
  • Finally, on lanes 25&26, 8th-place Die Schlag-Maschinen (hcp 70) will tussle with 1st-place Ashley Razabacks. Die Schlag-Maschinen is predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Razabacks are anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
