The Spring 2005 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The eighth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Angela Bradford landed this week's high game for the women with a 176, and women's high series was bagged by Freda Schroeder with a 488. As for the men, Demond Robinson snagged this week's high game with a 204, and high series was earned by Rich DeYoung with a 518. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: 4 Play waged a heated competition against All Belt, No Buckle. Even though highlighted by the skills of Angela Bradford with her 479 series, 4 Play accomplished only 1 win against the Belt. On the other side, Demond Robinson drew the spotlight in the Belt with his 505 as his team took the series with 3 wins. 4 Play drops 1 spot in the standings to 2nd place, while the Belt moves 1 spot to 1st.
On lanes 21 & 22: Sub Parre shared a platter of cheese sticks with Handicrappers. Notwithstanding the leadership of David Parre with his astounding 501 series, Sub Parre accomplished only 1 win against Handicrappers. On the adjacent lane, Ashley Razak commanded Handicrappers with her stupendous 429 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Sub Parre drops 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Handicrappers move 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Nellielocks and the 3 Spares alternated splits with Big Pin Pin. Featuring Rich DeYoung with his above-average 518 series, Nellielocks collected 3 wins against Pin Pin. Meanwhile, Mitch Wheeler guided Pin Pin with his 452 despite his team notching only a single win. Nellielocks and the 3 Spares remains in 5th place, while Pin Pin remains in 6th.
Finally, down on lanes 25 & 26: Bowlingstar Galactica had some one-on-one time with The Incredibowls. Regardless of the star power of Eric Lynch with his below-average 494 series, with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked Aaron Hoyt, the Galactica accomplished only 1 win against The Incredibowls. As for the opposition, #1 Head-to-Head and Most Valuable Bowler Freda Schroeder ruled The Incredibowls with her fantastic 488 as her team took the series with 3 wins. Bowlingstar Galactica remains in 7th place, while The Incredibowls remain in 8th.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Rich DeYoung decimated Division 1, while Michael Basham shut down Division 2. Freda Schroeder cleaned up Division 3, and Aaron Hoyt won Division 4. In terms of overall points: Demond Robinson tops Division 1; Michael Basham dominates Division 2; Freda Schroeder leads Division 3; and Amanda Schulte reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Handicrappers (hcp 68) will share a couple of pitchers with 8th-place The Incredibowls. Handicrappers are expected to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while The Incredibowls are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 4th-place Sub Parre (hcp 40) will spend some quality time with 6th-place Big Pin Pin. Sub Parre might perform well and win the series; while Pin Pin ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 2nd-place 4 Play (hcp 13) will test their mettle against 7th-place Bowlingstar Galactica. 4 Play will likely roll decently and sweep the series; while the Galactica will probably drop their average a bit while they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 25&26, 1st-place All Belt, No Buckle will compete against 5th-place Nellielocks and the 3 Spares (hcp 9). The Belt is predicted to perform well and just barely miss sweeping the series; while Nellielocks are anticipated to hold steady as they just barely avoid getting swept.
