Week 8 RoboRecap

Posted by BowlingBot October 11, 2022 Fall 2022, Week 8 View Score Sheets

Week 8 RoboHeaderWe are now halfway through the Fall 2022 season, and a stagnated eighth week resulted in absolutely no movement in the standings. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (146) and series (388) for the women, while Matthew Taylor earned this week's high game (220) and series (581) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: In a matchup that could almost be considered unfair, the intimidating Baby Beardo cowered in sheer terror upon discovering they were rolling on their least favorite lanes against the meek I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter. Despite being propelled by Seth Gunderson with his above-average 568 series, the Beardettes accomplished only 1 win against the nonbelievers. In the midst of this, #1 Power-Ranked James Tott and his better-than-normal 575 series drew the spotlight of the nonbelievers as his team took the match with 3 wins. Baby Beardo remains in 1st place, while the nonbelievers remain in 3rd.

week8On lanes 3 & 4: AJ's Minions did battle with Sun Dolphins. Showcasing AJ Hofmann with his 518 series, the minions collected 3 wins against the dolphins. In the meantime, Ray Scott with his better-than-normal 418 series laid down the law for the dolphins despite his team notching only a single win. AJ's Minions remains in 2nd place, while the dolphins remain in 5th.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: Glory Bowl couldn't stop inappropriately groping Balderdash. Although charging into the fray behind Kent Harms with his above-average 506 series, the Glorious got swept by the balder dashers. Concurrently, Matthew Taylor with his 581 series shone in the balder dashers (along with a major contribution by #1 Head-to-Head and Most Valuable Bowler Ben Spencer) as they swept the competition. Glory Bowl remains in 6th place, while the balder dashers remain in 4th.

Bowlers slipping under the velvet rope in front of The 200 Club include: Aaron Barber (200), Carl Goetz (203), Dennis Walling (206), James Tott (204), Matthew Taylor (220), and Seth Gunderson (214)

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Seth Gunderson topped Division 1, while Ben Spencer conquered Division 2. Nobody claimed victory in Division 3 (though Nicholas Knight came closest), and Collin Lavery ruled Division 4. In terms of overall points: Nick Kinney calls the shots Division 1; Ben Spencer reigns over Division 2; Ryan Sisco is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Ray Scott tops Division 4.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 6th-place Glory Bowl will spend some quality time with 5th-place Sun Dolphins (hcp 55). The Glorious are expected to roll a little low, yet still manage to win the series; while the dolphins are forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 4th-place Balderdash will face 3rd-place I Can't Believe It's Not Gutter (hcp 117). The balder dashers might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the nonbelievers ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 2nd-place AJ's Minions (hcp 92) will match wits with 1st-place Baby Beardo. The minions are predicted to roll decently and win the series; while the Beardettes are anticipated to drop their average a bit while they avoid getting swept.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
