Fat Tuesday? Nah, It’s Just a Beer Belly.

Posted by ScooterJ February 28, 2017 Spring 2017, Week 6 View Score Sheets

Tonight we had several bowlers off celebrating Mardis Gras, and for a while it seemed some of the lanes might take the night off as well. Luckily everything came together and we finished our games with little debauchery, no arrests, and no one getting run over.

For our first matchup of the evening, Trump's Toupee took a huge bite out of Obama's Hambone, taking not only the series but the championship as well. (Sorry, that was Kellyanne Conway trying her hand at this writeup.) In real life, despite being led by Dustin Schmeltz and his 452 series, Trump's Toupee got swept by Omaha Hambone. Kody Karnes boned the most ham tonight with a team (and league) leading 629 series, Trump's Toupee remains in 7th place, while Omaha Hambone regains first place after losing it during last week's time warp debacle.

On lanes 3 & 4: AJ Hofmann led FYWFK to a clean sweep over Suckeredusintoit with his 482 series. Not that he really needed to bowl that well, considering that the Suckered were all off flashing their boobs and earning beads so forfeited their games tonight, and that Savi Benfer contributed with her first Most Valuable Bowler performance. Suckeredusintoit remains in 8th place, while despite their sweep FYWFK remains in 6th.

On lanes 5 & 6: Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! lived up to their name with a vengeance. Led by Phil Schroeder and his 568 series (which should have been MUCH higher had he not tanked his third game), Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! secured 3 wins against Frankee's Uncles. Meanwhile, despite being led by a bowling-like-he-never-took-2-years-off Ken M. Wilson and his 608 series, Frankee's Uncles could only secure 1 win. (Due mainly to a weak game 3 overall by the Uncles, save for JV.) Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 3rd place, while Frankee's Uncles drops 1 spot to 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 7 & 8: After a fifteen minute delay due to lane malfunctions, a mild case of Ebowla was exposed to Terra Bowler and the result was a draw. Sean Simmons and Scott Murdock each led their respective teams to a stalemate with a 473 series. Ebowla remains in 5th place, while Terra Bowler remains in 4th.

This week in Tournament of Champions, Michael Gordon took Division 1 and moved into 2nd place behind Ken M. Wilson. Scott Murdock moved into first place in Divison 2, leaving Jonathan Vigliaturo in 2nd. Division 3 saw Dennis Laube move from 0 points to tied with Pat Hamell for 1st. Finally, James Tott took Division 4 to move into a tie with Dennis Cummings.

Bowlers parading their way into The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (226), Aubrey Moren (214), Bob Brunker (213), Carl Goetz (205,206), Jonathan Vigliaturo (213), Ken M. Wilson (232,200), Kody Karnes (224,216), Michael Gordon (220), and Phil Schroeder (212,229)

The mid-season position round is in 2 weeks. Just a reminder, if you need to use a sub in week 8, they cannot be a new sub so consider having them roll next week to get established. (We always have open spots.) Also, no post-bowling next week, though pre-bowling is always allowed.

See you next week!
