Snow Ballz

Posted by ScooterJ February 1, 2022 Spring 2022, Week 2 View Score Sheets

Much like the many many inches of snow we were promised, quite a few people were not seen this week. Nonetheless, each team had representation (barely in one instance) so rolling proceeded as planned. JoAnne Barber picked up this week's high game (146) and series (406) for the women. Among bowlers who can only wish for the ability to lactate, sub Ian Goetz snagged this week's high game with a 236, and high series was earned by Carl Goetz with a 600. Read on for all the rest of the details!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: Half of Glory Bowl hung out with "half" of The Wally McWallingtons. In spite of the prowess of Brett Affolter with his 425 series, Glory accomplished only 1 win against The McWallingtons. Among the other players in the match, Scott Murdock with his slightly-off 442 series oversaw The McWallingtons as his team took the match with 3 wins, though credit actually belongs to Clayton Burrow who improved with each game while setting his average. Glory Bowl remains in 6th place, while The McWallingtons remain in 3rd.

week2On lanes 3 & 4: Going, Going, BALD! attempted to deliver menacing stares toward ChuckaScoot. Or *a* menacing stare, as only one member of Bald showed up. Headlined by (asterisk) trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Matthew Taylor who reaped the benefits of both his above-average 584 series and of just showing up, Baldness collected 3 wins against the Scoot Chuckers. Simultaneously, Carl Goetz with his 600 series propped up Scoot Chuckers despite his team notching only a single win. Going, Going, BALD! climbs 1 spot in the standings to 1st place, while Scoot Chuckers sink 1 spot to 2nd.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: In the most populated match by far even with two bowlers absent, Splits & Giggles faced off against Flamboyant Fluffykins. Although charging into the fray behind JoAnne Barber with her above-average 406 series, Giggles accomplished only 1 win against Flamboyant. Moving on to the challengers, Dustin Schmeltz with his slightly-off 469 series drew the spotlight of Flamboyant as his team took the match with 3 wins. Splits & Giggles remains in 5th place, while Flamboyant remains in 4th.

Bowlers who stripped naked and shared a cozy hot tub together in a back room at The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (210,213), Ian Goetz (236), and Matthew Taylor (212)

JoAnne Barber earned both this season's women's high game and series with her 146 and 406, respectively. In addition, Ian Goetz nabbed this season's men's high game with his 236. Carl Goetz bagged the season's men's high series with his 600.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 4th-place Flamboyant Fluffykins (hcp 103) will meet with 1st-place Going, Going, BALD!. Flamboyant is expected to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Baldness are forecast to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 5th-place Splits & Giggles (hcp 10) will compete against 6th-place Glory Bowl. Giggles might maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Glory ought to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 2nd-place ChuckaScoot will challenge 3rd-place The Wally McWallingtons (hcp 116). Scoot Chuckers are predicted to maintain their current strength as they and split the series with The McWallingtons; while The McWallingtons are anticipated to raise their average while they keep the series tied.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
