One Week Left!

Posted by BowlingBot December 14, 2021 Fall 2021, Week 15 View Score Sheets

Week 15 RoboHeaderThe fifteenth week of Fall 2021 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Emily Nicolet picked up this week's high game (136) and series (324) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (255) and series (650) for the men. Meanwhile, Tournament of Champions is officially down to its final eight bowlers, who will face each other next week competing for two cash prizes! Read on for all the rest of the details!

Before we get into tonight's results, here's a rundown of what's coming up this next week:

  • Next week we will be treated to a little banquet courtesy of St. John's, and after bowling is completed please stick around for a short awards presentation. We will have cash prizes for everyone!
  • We were going to vote on the People's Choice awards tonight, but so many people were absent we will do that vote online instead. Look for an email in the coming days.
  • The Spring 2022 season will begin January 18. Other than whatever changes you all decide to do with your teams, everything else remains the same. We'll contact you about signing up in the coming days.

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: With the scales heavily tipped in one team's favor from the outset, the scrappy underdogs Bowlie Guacamole traded lane malfunctions with the big bullies of Going Going Bald. Blessed by Dustin Schmeltz with his 467 series, Guac collected 3 wins against Baldness. On the adjacent lane, Ben Spencer with his slightly-off 503 series inspired Baldness despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlie Guacamole climbs 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Baldness remain in 1st.

week15On lanes 3 & 4: Shephus Cripes drew pistols at dawn with Would You Rather.... Reinforced by #1 Head-to-Head Carl Goetz and his above-average 650 series, Shephus achieved a clean sweep over Would You. On the other side of the tracks, Scott Murdock with his 469 series laid down the law for Would You despite his team getting swept. Shephus Cripes remains in 2nd place, while Would You remains in 3rd.

Finally, down on lanes 5 & 6: In a fairly closely-matched lineup The Heavy Pins matched wits with Kenny Fan Club. Topped by #1 Power-Ranked Kent Harms and his powerful 574 series, Heavy P landed a clean sweep over Kenny. . With Kenny forfeiting, all Heavy P needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. No problemo! The Heavy Pins remains in 4th place, while Kenny sinks 1 spot to 6th.

Bowlers sneaking into The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (255) and Kent Harms (230)

The 650 rolled by Carl Goetz is this season's new high series for men.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz decimated Division 1, while James Tott eradicated Division 2. Kent Harms creamed Division 3, and Nathan Burrows shut down Division 4. Congratulations to our division champions! The following eight people will compete next week for the big prize! Division 1: Carl Goetz and Dennis Walling. Division 2: James Tott and Scott Murdock. Division 3: Kent Harms and AJ Hofmann. Division 4: Brandon Martinez and Nathan Burrows.

NEXT WEEK:

  • First, on lanes 1&2, 1st-place Going Going Bald (hcp 14) will challenge 2nd-place Shephus Cripes. Baldness are expected to roll a little low and get swept; while Shephus are forecast to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.
  • Moving to lanes 3&4, 3rd-place Would You Rather... will compete against 4th-place The Heavy Pins (hcp 29). Would You might roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Heavy P ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
  • Finally, on lanes 5&6, 5th-place Bowlie Guacamole (hcp 53) will tussle with 6th-place Kenny Fan Club. Guac is predicted to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Kenny is anticipated to raise their average while they rack up a sweep.

*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
