The Spring 2010 season draws to a close, with Empire Strikes Back officially earning this season's championship title! The final week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (200) and series (529) for the women. As for the men, Aubrey Moren snagged this week's high game with a 219, and high series was earned by Ken M. Wilson with a 589. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 25 & 26: Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz spent a romantic evening with Empire Strikes Back. Although blessed by Bob Brunker with his 524 series, the Schlitz got swept by the Empire. On the flipside, Ken M. Wilson took the lead in the Empire with his 589 as they swept the competition. Scoot Gave Us The Schlitz drops 1 spot in the standings to complete in 2nd place, while the Empire moves 1 spot to come out in 1st.
On lanes 27 & 28: 3 Pin Moon couldn't stop inappropriately groping Lil' Devils. Topped by Ryan Doll with his 577 series, 3 Pin Moon collected 3 wins against Lil' Devils. In the midst of this, Andrea Caudillo dominated Lil' Devils with her 423 despite her team notching only a single win. 3 Pin Moon finish in 3rd place, while Lil' Devils sink 1 spot to cross the finish line in 5th.
On lanes 29 & 30: No Pinheads waged a heated competition against Bowlumpkin. Highlighting the skills of Aubrey Moren with his above-average 545 series, the Pinheads collected 3 wins against Bowlumpkin. Meanwhile, Jason Carpio mastered Bowlumpkin with his 549 despite his team notching only a single win. No Pinheads leap 1 spot in the standings to close out in 4th place, while Bowlumpkin sinks 1 spot to wind up in 7th.
Finally, down on lanes 31 & 32: The Prak Attack alternated splits with Little Lebowski Urban Achievers. Reinforced by Joe Longstreet with his awe-inspiring 430 series, and supported tremendously by real star — trifecta-winner #1 Power-Ranked, #1 Head-to-Head, and Most Valuable Bowler Bill Riley, the Attack celebrated a clean sweep over the Urban Achievers. . With the Urban Achievers forfeiting, all the Attack needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. The Prak Attack leaps 1 spot in the standings to end the season in 6th place, while the Urban Achievers go home with 8th.
Bowlers who lied to their significant other claiming bowling was running long then went out for after-bowling drinks at The 200 Club include: Aubrey Moren (219), Carl Goetz (213), Freda Schroeder (200), Ken M. Wilson (211,217), Rob Kaszuba (202), and Ryan Doll (212,202)
After a hard fought season, the Tournament of Champions was won tonight by Phil Schroeder (Division 2),
with landing in second place. Phil will pocket the nice first-place pot,
while will take away the second-place pot. Congratulations!
