The Fall 2009 season is now underway, with ten teams entering the 16-week competition for the coveted, nonexistent championship trophy. Julie Benson-Grant picked up this week's high game (188) and series (418) for the women, while Ken M. Wilson earned this week's high game (257) and series (626) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: BILFs tussled with Sweep The Leg, Johnny. Despite being led by Scott Murdock with his 447 series, BILFs got swept by Sweep The Leg. Simultaneously, Ken M. Wilson guided Sweep The Leg with his staggering 626 (with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked John Boren) as they swept the competition. BILFs begins the season in 10th place, while Sweep The Leg gets going with 1st.
On lanes 21 & 22: No Pinheads traded lane malfunctions with Split Happens. Highlighting the skills of Dennis Laube with his 509 series, with props to #1 Head-to-Head bowler , No Pinheads collected 3 wins against Split Happens. On the flipside, James Long drew the spotlight in Split Happens with his 504 despite his team notching only a single win. No Pinheads gets underway in 2nd place, while Split Happens get rolling in 6th.
On lanes 23 & 24: WWJB had some one-on-one time with Chicks With Balls. With top billing by Dave Winger with his 452 series, with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Rich Foster, WWJB collected 3 wins against the Chicks. Meanwhile, Janelle (Laube) Lamar laid down the law in the Chicks with her 386 despite her team notching only a single win. WWJB leaves the gate in 4th place, while the Chicks start off with 9th.
On lanes 25 & 26: Ebowla celebrated their love of large, heavy balls with Quick Release. While headlined by Jason Carpio with his 517 series, Ebowla accomplished only 1 win against Quick Release. Concurrently, Ryan Doll took the lead in Quick Release with his 505 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Ebowla begins with 7th place, while Quick Release commences the season with 3rd.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: BOWLSH!T shared a platter of cheese sticks with Rollin' J's. Although topped by Kelly Sands with his 432 series, BOWLSH!T accomplished only 1 win against Rollin' J's. In the midst of this, Julie Benson-Grant commanded Rollin' J's with her 418 as her team took the series with 3 wins. BOWLSH!T 8th place, while Rollin' J's 5th.
