The thirteenth week of Spring 2009 saw one team climb in the standings, while one team slipped. Janelle (Laube) Lamar picked up this week's high game (154) and series (428) for the women. As for the men, Jason Carpio snagged this week's high game with a 241, and high series was earned by David Codding with a 584. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: WWJB took turns kicking the ball return with Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends. Demonstrating the prowess of Rich Foster with his 391 series, WWJB collected 3 wins against Wonder Friends. . With Wonder Friends forfeiting, all WWJB needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. However, that would not be the case. WWJB remains in 6th place, while Wonder Friends remain in 8th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Rule 6B spent some quality time with Turkey Sandwich. Reinforced by Ryan Doll with his above-average 520 series, Rule 6B collected 3 wins against Turkey Sandwich. On the other side, Jason Carpio mastered Turkey Sandwich with his above-average 576 despite his team notching only a single win. Rule 6B leaps 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while Turkey Sandwich remains in 9th.
On lanes 23 & 24: Schlitz For Us, Splits For You spent a romantic evening with Chicks With Balls. With top billing by trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Scott Murdock and his stunning 513 series, Schlitz celebrated a clean sweep over the Chicks. Simultaneously, Janelle (Laube) Lamar laid down the law in the Chicks with her 428 despite her team getting swept. Schlitz For Us, Splits For You remains in 1st place, while the Chicks remain in 7th.
On lanes 25 & 26: No Pinheads sparred with XXX. Although blessed by Phil Schroeder with his below-average 433 series, No Pinheads got swept by XXX. In the midst of this, Brandi Spiva shined in XXX with her above-average 340 as they swept the competition. No Pinheads drop 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while XXX remains in 10th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Sh!t, Another Season had a delightful time with Chico's Bail Bonds. Though featuring Duncan Ferber with his 555 series, Another Season accomplished only 1 win against Chico's. Across the ball return, David Codding took the lead in Chico's with his 584 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Sh!t, Another Season remains in 5th place, while Chico's remain in 2nd.
Bowlers entering The 200 Club include: Chris Lewis (200), David Codding (201), Duncan Ferber (210), Jason Carpio (241,211), and Ryan Doll (216)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Duncan Ferber mopped up Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about Division 2 as it was a complete embarassment. Scott Murdock swept Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Ben Wetteborn came closest). And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket, and in fact we aren't even going to talk about this bracket as it was a complete embarassment. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz governs Division 1; Phil Schroeder runs the show in Division 2; Scott Murdock leads Division 3; and Deena Slinkard reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds will meet with 1st-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You (hcp 64). Chico's are expected to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Schlitz is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 5th-place Sh!t, Another Season will challenge 10th-place XXX (hcp 150). Another Season might maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while XXX ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 4th-place No Pinheads will spend some quality time with 8th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends (hcp 117). No Pinheads will likely have a bit of an off night and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Wonder Friends will probably raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 3rd-place Rule 6B will compete against 7th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 66). Rule 6B might maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Chicks ought to hold steady as they endure a rough night.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 9th-place Turkey Sandwich will socialize with 6th-place WWJB (hcp 50). Turkey Sandwich is predicted to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while WWJB is anticipated to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
