The Fall 2007 position round is now history, and and the championship will be on us before we know it! The tenth week saw two teams climb in the standings, while one team slipped. One bowler set a new personal best series. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (182) and series (512) for the women, while Cory Chorpenning earned this week's high game (227) and series (633) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 19 & 20: Seefeldt the Glasscock had a delightful time with Dios Mios. With top billing by Don Glasscock with his below-average 596 series, the Glasscock split the series with Dios Mios. As for the opposition, Steve Kiernan oversaw Dios Mios with his 539 as they matched their opponent in wins. Seefeldt the Glasscock remains in 1st place, while Dios Mios remain in 2nd.
On lanes 21 & 22: Bad Newz Kennels kept stealing sips of beer from Cannonbelt Run. Though reinforced by Freda Schroeder with her above-average 512 series, the Kennels accomplished only 1 win against Cannonbelt. While that was going down, #1 Power Ranked and #1 Head-to-Head Nik Domann dominated Cannonbelt with his terrific 630 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Bad Newz Kennels plummet 2 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Cannonbelt moves 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Sh!t, I Don't Know shared a few beers with Split Happens. Demonstrating the prowess of Cory Chorpenning with his above-average 633 series, I Don't Know collected 3 wins against Split Happens. On the flipside, Nick Allegri mastered Split Happens with his below-average 469 despite his team notching only a single win. Sh!t, I Don't Know leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Split Happens remain in 6th.
On lanes 25 & 26: The GameCox did battle with Ebowla. Topped by Jason Carpio with his 499 series, the GameCox split the series with Ebowla. Concurrently, Travis Kleiner called the shots for Ebowla with his above-average 450 as they matched their opponent in wins. The GameCox remains in 7th place, while Ebowla remains in 8th.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Your Mom kept grabbing the balls of Seriously Handicapped. Although blessed by Ryan Doll with his 552 series, Your Mom accomplished only 1 win against the Handicapped. On the adjacent lane, Tyler Hilker ruled the Handicapped with his 526 (with kudos to Most Valuable Bowler Amy Goodnow) as his team took the series with 3 wins. Your Mom remains in 9th place, while the Handicapped remains in 10th.

A new personal best series was rolled tonight by Nik Domann (630, previous best 577).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Cory Chorpenning cleaned up Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Tyler Hilker came closest). Dennis Laube creamed Division 3, and Ryan Simonet had his way with Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Tyler Hilker (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Duncan Ferber governs Division 1; Nik Domann tops Division 2; Dennis Laube and David Parre reign over Division 3 in a tie; and Travis Kleiner leads Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 3&4, 2nd-place Dios Mios will spend some quality time with 9th-place Your Mom (hcp 72). Dios Mios are expected to maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Your Mom is forecast to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 3rd-place Cannonbelt Run (hcp 33) will face 5th-place Bad Newz Kennels. Cannonbelt might perform well and win the series; while the Kennels ought to hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 10th-place Seriously Handicapped (hcp 208) will share a couple of pitchers with 1st-place Seefeldt the Glasscock. The Handicapped will likely maintain their current strength as they get swept; while the Glasscock will probably drop their average a bit even as they rack up a sweep.
- Next up, on lanes 25&26, 8th-place Ebowla (hcp 160) will chuck some balls with 4th-place Sh!t, I Don't Know. Ebowla might perform well, but split the series with I Don't Know; while I Don't Know ought to drop their average a bit while they keep the series tied.
- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 6th-place Split Happens will match wits with 7th-place The GameCox (hcp 8). Split Happens are predicted to perform well and just barely win the series; while the GameCox is anticipated to raise their average even as they avoid getting swept.
