The fourteenth week of Spring 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while two teams slipped. Three bowlers set a new personal best series, and one rolled new personal high game. Freda Schroeder picked up this week's high game (199) and series (531) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (260) and series (706) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 17 & 18: Canned Crabs entered a showdown to the death with D-Day. Though featuring Eric Lynch with his (either injured, sick, or sandbagging) 393 series, the Crabs got swept by D-Day. Meanwhile, Ken M. Wilson guided D-Day with his 506 as they swept the competition. Canned Crabs plummet 2 spots in the standings to 8th place, while D-Day remains in 2nd.
On lanes 19 & 20: The Good Sons faced off against Hulk Smash!. In spite of the prowess of Steve Robinson with his above-average 474 series, the Sons accomplished only 1 win against the Hulk. On the flipside, trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Carl Goetz shined in the Hulk with his miraculous 706 as his team took the series with 3 wins. The Good Sons remains in 5th place, while the Hulk jumps 2 spots to 6th.

Finally, down on lanes 23 & 24: Top Guns kept stealing sips of beer from When Push Comes To Shove. Showcasing Pat Searcy with his 559 series, Top Guns celebrated a clean sweep over the Shovers. In the meantime, David Codding oversaw the Shovers with his below-average 492 despite his team getting swept. Top Guns leap 1 spot in the standings to 3rd place, while the Shovers sink 1 spot to 4th.

In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Pat Searcy decimated Division 1, while Freda Schroeder routed Division 2. Phil Schroeder rolled his ass to the top of Division 3, and nobody claimed victory in Division 4 (though Scott Murdock came closest).
In terms of overall points: Pat Searcy runs the show in Division 1; Ken M. Wilson governs Division 2; Steve Robinson and Phil Schroeder hold the reins in Division 3 in a tie; and Marca Robinson and Tracey Robertson dominate Division 4 in a tie.
NEXT WEEK: - First, on lanes 17&18, 1st-place Bowlers of Mass Destruction (hcp 28) will meet with 3rd-place Top Guns. Mass Destruction is expected to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Top Guns are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 19&20, 4th-place When Push Comes To Shove will chuck some balls with 7th-place Spanked (hcp 12). The Shovers might maintain their current strength as they and split the series with Spanked; while Spanked ought to hold steady as they keep the series tied.
- Then, over on lanes 21&22, 5th-place The Good Sons (hcp 96) will battle 2nd-place D-Day. The Sons will likely roll decently, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while D-Day will probably hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
- Finally, on lanes 23&24, 8th-place Canned Crabs (hcp 56) will throw some gutter balls with 6th-place Hulk Smash!. The Crabs are predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Hulk is anticipated to hold steady as they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
