The ninth week of Fall 2003 saw two teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. Andee Weinfurt picked up this week's high game (168) and series (421) for the women, while Carl Goetz earned this week's high game (212) and series (562) for the men. Read on for all the rest of the details!
First up, on lanes 15 & 16: Spare Change deliberately ate cheese sticks in front of Theee Beeelt. In spite of the prowess of #1 Head-to-Head and Most Valuable Bowler Demond Robinson and his above-average 547 series, Spare Change accomplished only 1 win against Theee Beeelt. On the other side, Seth Gunderson took the lead in Theee Beeelt with his 445 as his team took the series with 3 wins. Spare Change drops 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while Theee Beeelt jumps 2 spots to 6th.
On lanes 17 & 18: Atomic Goo spent a romantic evening with Bowl me Ishmael!. While headlined by Phil Schroeder with his 390 series, Atomic Goo got swept by Ishmael. In the midst of this, Pat O'Reily laid down the law in Ishmael with his 469 (with a nod to #1 Power-Ranked Michael Basham) as they swept the competition. Atomic Goo drops 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Ishmael moves 1 spot to 3rd.
On lanes 19 & 20: Bowlers of Mass Confusion traded lane malfunctions with Wolverines. With the strength of Jason Carpio with his 490 series, Mass Confusion collected 3 wins against the Wolverines. Countering this, Thomas Lin called the shots for the Wolverines with his 496 despite his team notching only a single win. Bowlers of Mass Confusion remains in 2nd place, while the Wolverines remain in 5th.
Finally, down on lanes 21 & 22: Anchors Aweigh! sparred with Gutter Minds. Blessed by Carl Goetz with his 562 series, the Anchors collected 3 wins against Gutter Minds. Concurrently, Pat Searcy oversaw Gutter Minds with his 535 despite his team notching only a single win. Anchors Aweigh! remains in 1st place, while Gutter Minds sink 1 spot to 7th.
Bowlers slipping under the velvet rope in front of The 200 Club include: Carl Goetz (212) and Pat Searcy (203)
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Demond Robinson topped Division 1, while Corey Weinfurt crushed Division 2. Jim Jones won Division 3, and Paul Linder mopped up Division 4. In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz dominates Division 1; Corey Weinfurt calls the shots for Division 2; Seth Gunderson tops Division 3; and Ginger O'Reilly reigns over Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 15&16, 7th-place Gutter Minds will face 5th-place Wolverines (hcp 56). Gutter Minds are expected to roll a little low and lose the series but avoid getting swept; while the Wolverines are forecast to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Moving to lanes 17&18, 1st-place Anchors Aweigh! will test their mettle against 2nd-place Bowlers of Mass Confusion (hcp 67). The Anchors might maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Mass Confusion ought to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
- Then, over on lanes 19&20, 8th-place Spare Change will challenge 4th-place Atomic Goo (estimated hcp 66). Spare Change will likely maintain their current strength as they win the series; while Atomic Goo will probably hold steady as they avoid getting swept.
- Finally, on lanes 21&22, 6th-place Theee Beeelt will battle 3rd-place Bowl me Ishmael! (hcp 68). Theee Beeelt is predicted to perform well, yet still manage to lose the series but avoid getting swept; while Ishmael is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
*(Remember, the predicted results above are based on mathematical extrapolations and can be changed by all sorts of factors. If you don't like how your team's results are predicted, you and your teammates have the power to prove the math wrong!)
