Goodness Gracious, Great Balls of Fire!

Posted by ScooterJ February 8, 2017 Spring 2017, Week 3 View Score Sheets

Tonight was a night of some pretty incredible games. With two veterans setting new personal high games, one setting a new personal high series, and people rolling well above their average in every one of our matchups, tonight was literally smoking!

First up, on lanes 1 & 2: FYWFK had a slow ride and took it easy with an unAubreyed Holy Sandbaggers, Batman!. With nearly identical leading series on each side -- AJ Hofmann with a 469 (assisted by an MVB performance by Dan Crosby) and Dennis Laube with a 467, the matchup ended in a split. FYWFK remains in 6th place, while Holy Sandbaggers, Batman! remains in 4th. The Sandbaggers might not have gotten the memo that it's ok to stop sandbagging now. :)

On lanes 3 & 4: A finally-unified Frankee's Uncles showed up to so sucker punch Suckeredusintoit. Led by #1 power ranked Bob Brunker and his new personal best 648 series (including a new personal best game of 267), Frankee's Uncles secured 3 wins against Suckeredusintoit. Meanwhile, JoAnne Watson led those who were Suckered to a single victory with her 335 series. Frankee's Uncles remains in 3rd place, while Suckeredusintoit remains in 7th.

On lanes 5 & 6: The very briefly first-place Terra Bowler had a bone to pick with Omaha Hambone. However, when a team is led by Scott Murdock, you pretty much know how it's going to go. Scoot's 491 series led Terra Bowler to getting completely pushed down the stairs by the Hambone. It was Michael Mead's 623 series (and an assist by #1 head-to-head bowler Aaron Barber) that brought Omaha Hambone a clean sweep. Terra Bowler drops 4 spots in the standings to 5th place, while Omaha Hambone moves up 1 spot to 1st.

Finally, down on lanes 7 & 8: Trump's Toupee contracted a very nasty case of Ebowla. Despite a 575 series by Dustin Schmeltz, including a new personal best game of 268, Trump's Toupee had to be stomped on and burned to after being completely overrun with Ebowla. Meanwhile, both Seans led Ebowla in a full-on epidemic with their 451 series (along with some highly over-average games by Chantal and Claire). Trump's Toupee remains in 8th place, while Ebowla jumps 3 spots outside the quarantine zone to 2nd place.

The Tournament of Champions begins next week, and the divisions are set! Division 1 will consist of Carl, both Michaels, Kody, Ken, Aaron, Bob, and Aubrey. Division 2 contains JV, Dustin, AJ, both Seans, Scoot, Ben, and Phil. Division 3 is made up of Dennis Laube, Freda, Pat, Zach, both Brandons, Abby, and JoAnne. Finally, Division 4 will enjoy the company of Dan, Dennis C, James, Dave, Chantal, Claire, Savi, and any future bowler who eventually rounds out our empty 32nd spot. Let the madness begin!

Bowlers entering The 200 Club this week include: Aaron Barber (225,203), Bob Brunker (267), Carl Goetz (206,215), Dustin Schmeltz (268), Ken M. Wilson (276), and Michael Mead (214,237)

"I think Pat's coming, I don't know why he isn't here yet. Hold on, let me check Untappd. [pause] Yeah, he'll be here, he's just a block away."

James Tott, knowing exactly how to figure out where his friend is, after Dustin asked him if Pat Hamell was going to make it to bowling.
