By now every team has bowled each other once, so next week is the Spring 2009 position round. But enough about next week, you came here to read about this week. The ninth week saw three teams climb in the standings, while three teams slipped. One bowler roll a new personal best game. Angela Bradford picked up this week's high game (184) and series (513) for the women, while Duncan Ferber earned this week's high game (215) and series (598) for the men. First up, on lanes 19 & 20: WWJB tussled with XXX. Featuring AJ Taylor with his 392 series, WWJB celebrated a clean sweep over XXX. . With XXX forfeiting, all WWJB needed to do was roll within 40 pins of their combined team average each game. Mission accomplished. WWJB leaps 1 spot in the standings to 8th place, while XXX remains in 10th.
On lanes 21 & 22: Sh!t, Another Season kept stealing sips of beer from Schlitz For Us, Splits For You. Highlighting the skills of trifecta-winner (#1 Head-to-Head, #1 Power-Ranked, and Most Valuable Bowler) Duncan Ferber and his above-average 598 series, Another Season collected 3 wins against Schlitz. While that was going down, Angela Bradford drew the spotlight in Schlitz with her above-average 513 despite her team notching only a single win. Sh!t, Another Season leaps 1 spot in the standings to 4th place, while Schlitz plunges 2 spots to 3rd.
On lanes 23 & 24: Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends faced off against Chicks With Balls. Starring Drew Eldridge with his 384 series, Wonder Friends split the series with the Chicks. On the other half of the score sheet, Janelle (Laube) Lamar showed off in the Chicks with her 398 as they matched their opponent in wins. Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends drop 1 spot in the standings to 9th place, while the Chicks remain in 6th.
On lanes 25 & 26: No Pinheads accepted a challenge by Rule 6B. While headlined by Dennis Laube with his 479 series, No Pinheads accomplished only 1 win against Rule 6B. Conversely, Brett Schroeder commanded Rule 6B with his 443 as his team took the series with 3 wins. No Pinheads drop 1 spot in the standings to 5th place, while Rule 6B jumps 2 spots to 1st.
Finally, down on lanes 27 & 28: Chico's Bail Bonds spent a romantic evening with Turkey Sandwich. With the strength of Ken M. Wilson with his above-average 550 series, Chico's split the series with Turkey Sandwich. On the other side, Jason Carpio called the shots for Turkey Sandwich with his 526 as they matched their opponent in wins. Chico's Bail Bonds remains in 2nd place, while Turkey Sandwich remains in 7th.

A new personal high game was set tonight by AJ Taylor (162, previous best 161).
In this week's Tournament of Champions brackets: Carl Goetz shut down Division 1, while nobody claimed victory in Division 2 (though Angela Bradford came closest). Janelle (Laube) Lamar eradicated Division 3, and Deena Slinkard spanked Division 4. And, finally, nobody claimed victory in the Interdivisional bracket (though Duncan Ferber (Division ) came closest). In terms of overall points: Carl Goetz dominates Division 1; Angela Bradford calls the shots for Division 2; Chris Lewis is in the driver's seat in Division 3; and Deena Slinkard tops Division 4.
NEXT WEEK:
- First, on lanes 19&20, 1st-place Rule 6B (hcp 86) will roll against 2nd-place Chico's Bail Bonds. Rule 6B is expected to maintain their current strength as they get swept; while Chico's are forecast to hold steady as they rack up a sweep.
- Moving to lanes 21&22, 3rd-place Schlitz For Us, Splits For You (hcp 62) will chill with 4th-place Sh!t, Another Season. Schlitz might perform well and win the series; while Another Season ought to drop their average a bit while avoid getting swept.
- Then, over on lanes 23&24, 5th-place No Pinheads will throw some gutter balls with 6th-place Chicks With Balls (hcp 112). No Pinheads will likely maintain their current strength as they sweep the series; while the Chicks will probably raise their average even as they endure a rough night.

- Finally, on lanes 27&28, 9th-place Capt. Awesome & Wonder Friends (hcp 4) will hang out with 10th-place XXX. Wonder Friends are predicted to maintain their current strength as they lose the series but avoid getting swept; while XXX is anticipated to raise their average while they enjoy their victories.
